Cyber Era Witch
Chapter 119 - 119 102 Forever Mireya

119: Chapter 102 Forever Mireya 119: Chapter 102 Forever Mireya The Bronze Titan Excavation Site, the special task force from the Lighthouse Core was in position, ready to thoroughly investigate the Ancient Witch incident.

“The Chaos Era was a unique historical period a thousand years ago and also a critical juncture that shaped the world we live in today.” A beautifully designed machine robot was briefing the team members with relevant information.

It was cast from a light grey alloy, with blue light bands distributed all over its body.

The elliptical head in front was a transparent shield, protecting central photoreceptors, communication devices, and sympathetic chips.

It was extremely tall, about 2.5 meters in height, towering above, with limbs long and slender, which upon closer inspection instilled a sense of fear.

Around it were soldiers from New Taixi State, clad in advanced Single Combat Armor.

The armor was painted white, encapsulating the soldiers from head to toe, like silent messengers, known as the “Pale Legion,” the regular armed forces of New Taixi State.

There were seven of them present at the scene.

Considering their differences from humans outside of New Taixi State, they preferred not to expose their faces in front of outsiders nor did they wish others to hear their voices.

Communication was conducted through the built-in communicators of their armor.

A Witch in a black trench coat stood a slight distance away from the soldiers.

The Witch had a slender and well-proportioned figure, oozing charm, with perfect proportions, ripe and mature.

Her upper body was tightly wrapped in a latex bodysuit, extremely stretched, showing round contours as if it would burst at any moment, with the buttons bearing immense strain.

Her lips were bright red, eyes a deep blue, lashes extremely long, eye shadow pitch black, and her skin deathly pale, forming a stark contrast that conjured images of ghostly apparitions.

“Continue,” she commanded the robot.

“During the Chaos Era,” the robot continued to report, “there were a total of eight Witches of egregious wickedness who committed a series of horrifying crimes, bringing immense disaster.

Based on the clues we’ve collected, we can believe that the one unearthed at the Bronze Titan Excavation Site is ‘Aquilia Village Maiden,’ codenamed 002.”

The Pale Legion members laughed amongst themselves inside their armor, exchanging views quietly, as they shifted their focus towards the depths of the burial chamber, where darkness reigned.

“This ‘Aquilia Village Maiden’ was very young, with an active period of about seven years.

She was first recorded as becoming an assistant in a parish,” the robot continued to read, “It is believed that she once participated in the murder of deities, leading to the D-9 Incident, and afterward, she was pursued by the Witch Council and vanished from historical records.

She may have made contact with the other seven Witches who were active at the same time and managed to escape their pursuit.

Now, she has been discovered in an underground tomb in Aizu City.

How she arrived here and how she survived a millennium remains a mystery.”

“Heh…” The Witch in the black trench coat curled the corners of her mouth.

“Now, our mission is very clear: at all costs, find and recover this Ancient Witch, as she likely has some connection with the previous crises,” the robot saluted the Pale Legion and the Witch, “Reporting complete.”

“I heard that on the day of the incident, you communicated with this place,” the Witch turned to address a corporate man in a suit who looked uneasy.

There was a security team from Kyoto Infinity beside him, but they dared not breathe a word, unwilling to provoke a conflict with people from the Lighthouse Core.

“Yes.” The corporate man was code-named “Cedar Cat,” the person in charge of Kyoto Infinity who first discovered the intrusion at the Excavation Site.

Due to his close ties with the incident, he was immediately conscripted.

Seeing the assembly of the Pale Legion, high-level machine robot, and Witch before him gave Cedar Cat a headache; they were not to be trifled with.

Especially this Witch, her name was Mireya, an external field Witch specially hired by the Lighthouse Core.

The Lighthouse Core did not cultivate Witches on their own, instead, they hired Witches from the outside with high salaries to serve them, selecting the best among the best globally, with both ability and qualities exceedingly terrifying.

Among them were the mighty ones named “Goddess of Peace,” and those slightly weaker were bestowed with the title “Messenger of Peace.”

Mireya was one of the Messengers of Peace.

Cedar Cat knew nothing of her abilities but had heard of her uniqueness.

——According to the intelligence held by Kyoto Infinity, Mireya’s abilities did not enhance physical fitness, nor did they include long-range offensive capabilities or reality manipulation, but she remained undefeated, concluding combats in extremely short periods.

That is to say, an unknown terror.

“Visitors from Black Fire Innovation have been here.” Mireya stood still, reading the intelligence others sent to her, a multitude of information flowing through her mind, which she analyzed clearly.

Seeing Mireya’s state, Cedar Cat knew that she was installed with Digital Mind, her intellect as meticulous as a computer’s, and she could convert neural signals into optoelectronic ones.

Witches’ minds were more complex than humans’, usually incompatible with Digital Mind technology, but she belonged to the Lighthouse Core after all, whose command over technological means was superior to other corporations.

“All of our facilities have been hacked,” Cedar Cat said, “A cybersecurity person named Xu Yang was hired by Black Fire Innovation.

He, like you, possessed Digital Mind.”

Mireya narrowed her eyes.

She enjoyed matching wits with a worthy opponent.

“Continue,” she commanded.

“There’s nothing more…” Cedar Cat shook his head, “He was from the Kyushu High Pavilion, The Outcast.

Pan Ruiyi personally killed him, tossing him into the Rat Tide, where he was tortured, burned.”

“Oh.” Mireya remembered Pan Ruiyi.

She was so radiant, fierce, and mindless; aside from her ability to fight, she was good for nothing, “And the Ancient Witch?”

“The clue is lost, I activated the electromagnetic pulse to prevent the situation from worsening,” Cedar Cat explained.

“It seems now that it might have fallen into the hands of Black Fire Innovation, but we are at loggerheads with them, constantly on the brink of war, and we don’t know if they have already transferred the Ancient Witch.”

“No clues?” Mireya crushed a stone beneath her foot.

“None, I am very sorry.” Cedar Cat bowed to them at a 90-degree angle, feeling a surge of annoyance within.

These damned Lighthouse Core, treating Kyoto Infinity like their own backyard.

If they were in front of Lady Honma Noriko, they’d probably cower like dogs.

Seeing Cedar Cat like this, the members of the Pale Legion began to snicker over the internal communication channel, knowing that the humans outside of New Taixi State were in a primitive state, knowing nothing and incapable of doing anything, utterly incompetent.

However, from their appearances, they made no movement at all, like exquisite statues, armed and ready.

When Cedar Cat raised his head again, he saw that Mireya had already stood in front of him.

“Uh—” He wore an expression of astonishment.

At this, the security personnel from Kyoto Infinity around him swiftly raised their weapons, ready for self-defense, but in the next second they all lowered their arms.

After a brief silence, they uniformly spoke the same sentence.

“Forever Mireya.” The tone was consistent, devoid of any personal emotion, laced with sincerity and solemnity.

Mireya, as if inspecting her own troops, paced slowly in front of them.

She hooked Cedar Cat’s chin with her finger, and his face remained slack.

Countless pieces of information flooded into Mireya’s Digital Mind, and she gradually sketched a vast web in her mind—Bronze Titan Excavation Site underwent an electromagnetic explosion, the Rat Tide appeared, the Toshiaki Family Group in Katagi District was blood-washed, the Cyber Specter made its first appearance at No.

1 Junction, Shenkong Tower blasted, the abandoned factory of Material Optics was looted.

“Forever Mireya.” Cedar Cat repeated mechanically.

“Got any leads?” asked a soldier clad in white armor.

“Where do we start looking for the Ancient Witch?”

“Suzuki Shinji.” Mireya found a name.

“Gang leader, likely has had contact with them.”

“Move out.” The white-armored soldiers, including the robot, mobilized together.

Cedar Cat and his security personnel came to their senses, with slight memory gaps as if they had been drunk.

He felt uncomfortable, perhaps a premonition of cyber psychosis, knowing he had embarrassed himself in front of Mireya, losing face for Kyoto Infinity.

He immediately strained to stand up straight, like a bamboo pole.

After Mireya withdrew from the excavation site, in a distant rift, Guan Wancang put down his telescope.

Beside him, a Ratman cradled a signal jammer, while the other hand cranked a portable generator to charge it.

“Squeak squeak squeak?” the Ratman beside asked what had happened.

“A new round of disaster,” Guan Wancang pocketed the telescope, rubbing his dim eyes.

“Let’s go, find that man with the surname Xu.”

Forever Mireya.

An icy voice echoed in Guan Wancang’s mind, confusingly, as he struggled not to repeat it, taking a long time to suppress the urge, and then followed the strong young Ratman wearily.

Elsewhere, in Holy Favor Garden.

Xu Yang woke up, pondering what his next move should be, when to visit Rat Village, only to see Falosa sitting next to him with an ashen face, as if someone had severely provoked her again.

“What’s the matter?” Xu Yang felt it odd.

“Encountered some trouble?”

She usually was straightforward and rarely wore such an expression; more crucially, Falosa typically slept late, yet now she had woken up earlier than Xu Yang.

“Might be because my hair got squashed,” Lila walked toward the bathroom, preparing hot water for Xu Yang to wash his face.

Falosa wasn’t in the mood for jokes.

Facing Xu Yang, she hesitated, a torrent of words clogging her heart, eager to spill out like a flood, but she had to firmly hold back this piece of news, not to let slip a word.

Her divine power had been depleted.
