Chapter 1184: Chapter 910 Gradually Regaining Strength

Xu Yang’s consciousness completely regathered, returning to his original body.

For the first time in six years, the Golden Life Sustaining Capsule opened. Xu Yang slowly opened his eyes but felt nothing, not even sight, as his neural implants believed he was dead, leading to an unresponsive state.

Unable to move.

Xu Cheng removed her helmet, jumped down from the facility, and shouted to Farosa: "Dad is awake!"

"What?" Farosa looked at Xu Yang in confusion. He didn’t seem like he was awake at all.

"Awake! Really awake!" Xu Cheng was very anxious; she had seen her father awaken in her dreams.

Lila’s thought matrix had been installed into Xu Yang’s Digital Mind. Since Xu Yang fell silent, Lila preferred to abandon her machine body to enter Xu Yang’s Digital Mind and protect him without leaving for six years.

At this moment, she had just returned from Xu Yang’s world of consciousness and began to activate Xu Yang’s Digital Mind one by one, announcing Xu Yang’s return.

Xu Yang opened his eyes, his brain sluggishly taking over his body, restoring vitality level by level from top to bottom. He was entirely numb, his limbs merely existing; his vision was immensely dim.

Farosa saw Xu Yang’s movement. Her body trembled quickly, she clenched her hands, her lips moved continually but didn’t utter a word, merely holding her breath.

"Xu Yang?" Farosa murmured.

Xu Yang moved his lips with difficulty; his throat was dry, and his tongue was numb. For the past six years, I was probably just a dried-up corpse. Xu Yang mocked himself secretly.

"Master, I’m adjusting the equipment. Soon you’ll be able to leave the life sustaining capsule and move as before." Lila’s voice echoed directly in Xu Yang’s Digital Mind.

"Lila?" Xu Yang’s Digital Mind panel had completely changed, filled with traces of Lila.

"If I couldn’t stay with Master, Lila would feel very sorry. Therefore, during this time, I’ve stayed by Master’s side. However, now that Master is awake, Lila can return to some machine body and continue following Master." Lila said.

"I need you so much, just like this, just like this..." Xu Yang repeated, closing his eyes and then reopening them, finding his sight restored.

Nutrient solution and nerve stimulants injected into Xu Yang’s veins, accelerating his recovery. Xu Yang gradually began to feel his hands and feet, first as tingling, then numbness, finally a disconnected feeling, as if they were parts on a puppet, ready to fall off at any time.

Xu Yang took a deep breath and turned his head to see Xu Cheng.

"You... you’ve grown so... so tall..." Xu Yang said with difficulty.

Xu Cheng felt sad seeing this; the invincible father was now almost gone, needing to eat more to get better, dressed only in a patient’s gown, exceedingly weak, like recovering from a severe illness.

She climbed into the life sustaining capsule, helping Xu Yang out of it, removing the tubes from his body. Farosa watched calmly with her arms crossed.

"Oh, need someone’s help now." Xu Yang, supported by Xu Cheng, struggled out of the life sustaining capsule, slowly walking down the mechanical steps, while the facilities monitoring Xu Yang’s physiological status continued operating, indicators gradually returning to normal.

"Wuwu..." Xu Cheng hugged her dad.

"It’s okay." Xu Yang habitually reassured her. Xu Cheng had grown so tall, he tried to squeeze Xu Cheng’s palm, attempting to convey what words couldn’t express. Yet, Xu Cheng felt even more sorrowful because she could hardly feel her dad’s strength.

"Dad, sit." Xu Cheng helped Xu Yang sit on a metal chair.

Xu Yang carefully looked at Xu Cheng, observing every delightful change on her body, every detail; her eyes were bright, weathered, and evidently matured. When did her childhood end? Xu Yang deeply regretted not being there to watch Xu Cheng grow step by step. Now she was both skilled and confident, having independently gone through long years and no longer the little fool needing to sit on dad’s shoulders.

"Hmph..." Farosa surveyed Xu Yang, "What a sight."

"Don’t talk about Dad like that!" Xu Cheng shouted, ready to duel with Farosa.

Xu Yang looked up at Farosa. On her expressionless face, inner turmoil was clearly hidden—lonely agony, trembling hope, the tremors of revival... Time slipped by. Xu Yang knew how painful it was for Farosa, who still armed herself with coldness and reason.

For a long time, they gazed at each other in silence. Farosa’s glance swept over Xu Yang’s tired and unfit ruins of a body, sensing all his weariness and shortcomings. These would need time to heal, and Farosa couldn’t ensure her Law of Recovery for Xu Yang wouldn’t affect other things—like Xu Yang’s memories, his soul possibly having traveled elsewhere, which Farosa could detect.

Xu Cheng looked at Xu Yang and then at Farosa, still unable to understand the prolonged gaze between them.

Her throat twitched, then Farosa’s composure collapsed. She dashed forward, lifted Xu Cheng and tossed her aside, then hugged Xu Yang with her arms, holding him tightly as if only Farosa’s hands could keep Xu Yang from slipping into darkness again.

"Hoo..." Xu Yang closed his eyes, breathing in the familiar scent of Farosa’s hair. She lay against Xu Yang’s chest, and six years of pain and loneliness flowed down with tears. Xu Yang had to endure all this; every sob from Farosa felt like a lash, making him understand how sorrowful his departure was for her.

When Farosa’s tears finally ceased, she raised her red eyes; hair in disarray, and Xu Yang wiped away the tears on Farosa’s face.

"I thought I would grow old alone." Farosa’s voice was harsh. Xu Cheng got up from the ground, listening intently, sensing it wasn’t as sharp-tongued as before.

"...I will recover, nothing to worry about." Xu Yang slowly felt Power returning to his body. He comforted Farosa, though his consciousness was still a fog. Thankfully, Lila was now in Xu Yang’s Digital Mind, re-recording and scanning the vast precious memories brought back over six years, possibly helping them turn the tide.

"You swear." Farosa murmured, her voice filled with grievance.

"Of course, I will live; I will heal and fight as always," Xu Yang slowly said. He quietly perceived everything around, now only needing time, knowing the direction ahead, just waiting for action.

"Aliens were so evil, nearly taking everything away! And they killed so many people!" Xu Cheng was very angry.

Farosa took a deep breath, returning to that inscrutable demeanor. Xu Yang sensed that Farosa’s growth over the six years was also remarkable.

"Then. While you rest, I’ll slay our enemies. I’ll cross the bloody war and land on New Taixi State," Farosa turned and walked outside.

Let the enemies tremble with fear. The Godslayer Weapon appeared in Farosa’s hand.

She had no worries anymore.
