Chapter 1181: Chapter 908: Final Delivery Service_3

"Farosa! Tell me the truth. Hmph, if you have already decided not to listen to me, then nothing I say will convince you," Xu Cheng said.

"...You’re just an envoy," Farosa closed her eyes.

"And the last shipment I carry is myself. Farosa, I present myself to you, hoping you will never underestimate me again," Xu Cheng said.

Farosa slowly exhaled.

"You have exceeded my plans; you have far surpassed my expectations. Perhaps the Heavenly Tribulation has also shocked me. Now I actually feel like you have become one of the best among witches. Come with me, Xu Cheng, I’ve decided to tell you the whole truth because you deserve it," she said.

Xu Cheng followed Farosa.

Farosa walked toward the depths of the room, passing through a corridor.

Xu Cheng internally sensed what she was about to see next. She saw a door at the end, leading to the most secure area of Nestor Corporation.

"You know the Heavenly Tribulation killed 4.3 billion people, half the land is polluted, the world is folded, previously unconnected regions are now linked. To defeat invaders from the Galaxy, we must spare no effort," Farosa said, with her hands behind her back.

"That’s right," Xu Cheng nodded.

Farosa glanced at Xu Cheng with a slight sympathy: "It also means your heart must harden and become extraordinarily strong. Initially, we all thought you had no hope, crushed and dispirited. But I think this expedition of yours has completely changed you, you seem... invincible."

"Indeed," Xu Cheng felt herself becoming stronger. Having seen half the world, what is there to be sad about?

"We didn’t like you. I, Kanako, and the others didn’t like you because Xu Yang seemed to favor you over others, as if only you were qualified to inherit everything. Now, it’s just you. He misses you too much," Farosa said.

"Isn’t that so?" Xu Cheng said proudly.

Farosa chuckled.

"So that’s that, now you should be able to help him."

"Help?" Xu Cheng was puzzled, "What do you mean it’s just me left?"

"After the Heavenly Tribulation, Xu Yang’s consciousness was imprisoned, found and gravely injured by alien powers, and he has been slowly repairing himself over the past six years. We’ve all helped him, accelerating his recovery process, shortening it from fifty years to seven years," Farosa said.

"Father is trapped!" Xu Cheng was shocked.

"This is our hidden secret; we kept it a secret to avoid a total collapse. We strained and pretended he was still around. Ah, it’s impossible without Xu Yang, but we’ve tried everything, just missing a bit. Maybe you, just you, Little Fool, your final power could awaken him, your will, your heart, you... you actually returned alone, as if to duel me. I admire you, yes, I acknowledge you," Farosa said.

"I..." Xu Cheng widened her eyes.

Farosa pushed the door open.

In the central machine room of Nestor Corporation, Xu Cheng saw a dense array of equipment and pipelines. The waveform detectors emitted rhythmic clicks, like a heartbeat, and apart from the slight sounds of the equipment, it was completely silent. Behind this silence seemed to lie endless solitude, and at the top hung a pale golden life-support pod.

"We can’t wait three more years, six years—Xu Cheng, bring him back completely. We’ve done everything we could, it’s just you now. Go, bring him the good news, tell him: you’ve grown up, maybe that’ll wake him up," Farosa said quietly.

Guided by Farosa, Xu Cheng climbed up a facility and took a helmet to place on her own head. She closed her eyes and sank into Xu Yang’s boundless dream.

It was on a vast golden beach, sunlight shining, not a cloud in the sky, coconut trees swaying in the breeze, the sea lightly lapping the shore. Xu Cheng looked around.

This is Tarsonti, Xu Yang’s island.

Xu Yang’s spirit was trapped on this island. Xu Cheng ran across the beach, leaving a trail of footprints behind, and soon saw the figure of her father lying on the sand, not knowing whether he was dead or alive.

Lila’s phantom leaned against Xu Yang, turning her head to see Xu Cheng.

"You’re here? Farosa sent you?" Lila said.

"I’m here to wake Father," Xu Cheng crouched beside Xu Yang.

"Are you ready?" Lila looked at Xu Cheng, "Among everyone he cares about, it’s just you. But if you giggle foolishly, it will be useless, only worrying Xu Yang more."

"Yes," Xu Cheng nodded, feeling very serious.

She concentrated on Xu Yang. Only after going through so much did Xu Cheng’s mind become clearer; she feared nothing now. She transformed from a little fool into someone smart, brave, and strong, even receiving Farosa’s recognition—amazing!

That means she no longer needs to be the little fool that Father worries about.

If this is the last factor trapping Father’s consciousness, now it shall end.

"Father," Xu Cheng crouched down, near Xu Yang’s forehead, "You don’t need to worry about me anymore." She focused on her father, waiting silently.

Xu Yang opened his eyes.

And so, the long dream ended.
