Chapter 1171: Chapter 902: Golden Ripple Rush

Xu Cheng crawled to the bedside table, turned off the lamp, and a faint orange glow filtered in from outside the heavy curtains, coming from the house across the street.

"It feels so peaceful..." Bubble closed her eyes and said slowly in the darkness.

Xu Cheng breathed evenly, listening to Bubble’s breathing beside her. She felt so strange; now she truly felt Bubble’s "presence." She was right next to her, a little Bubble, not someone else.

She crawled a bit closer to Bubble. Coincidentally, they both took out their locators at the same time, watching them glow in the dark. The fluorescent green arrows pointed toward each other, signifying they were so close, watching over one another.

"Bubble..." Xu Cheng whispered.

"Mm..." Bubble closed her eyes.

"Meeting you, Bubble... feels so happy..." Xu Cheng said softly.

Bubble crawled over and curled up next to Xu Cheng. She wanted to say, "Me too."

"Did you hear something?" Bubble suddenly felt a noise from somewhere.

"No..." Xu Cheng was drowsy.

"There is, there’s a sound..." Bubble fought her drowsiness, trying to get up.

Xu Cheng struggled to discern the faint sounds coming from the dark.

"That is, that’s..." Xu Cheng’s eyes slowly widened, "It’s an alarm..."

The blaring alarm shattered the night’s silence, the sound of military vehicles moving was particularly harsh, and Bubble hurried to get down. The embroidered curtains she once found exquisite now felt exceptionally heavy, far less convenient than electric curtains.

Once they finally pulled open the curtains, they saw military vehicles leaving along the only road, heading to the countryside, clearly because those villages were under attack. Two security helicopters roared in pursuit, the rotor blades clattering loudly, piercingly shrill.

"Outside is under attack!" Bubble became alert.

Xu Cheng took a deep breath. It was the early hours of the morning, with not a ray of sunlight when the vampires were at their strongest.

Only she could defeat the vampires. With that thought, Xu Cheng hurriedly dressed, not bothering to call Lianhua or the Shahua Sisters and personally led Bubble to follow the direction of the departing military vehicles, heading to the countryside.

The night dew on the grass was damp, requiring caution when walking to avoid falling. The sounds outside were piercing; the helicopters timidly hovered high, shining a spotlight on a huge, pale creature — a giant vampiric beast, resembling an enormous bat, its wings spanning over twenty meters, its rampage clear from drinking human blood.

Casually destroying buildings, the flimsy houses crumbled under its assault, the extremely ugly bat face showing its fangs, an evil smile ready to hunt more survivors. Faintly, the cries of people suffering under its claws and teeth could be heard.

Many security personnel attacked the vampire with simple firearms, handguns, and energy rifles firing ammunition, bursting on its body. Although causing minor damage, it was nothing compared to the vampire’s super regeneration rate, which could quickly heal its life force, with no injury significant enough to affect it.

And as it swung its claw, a deadly blood-sucking wave flew out, instantly draining a whole line of security personnel’s bodies of blood, forming a vast blood stream toward the vampire beast itself.

"Hiss... roar..." The vampiric beast greedily enjoyed the fresh blood from humans, its muscles robust, claws sharp, ready to continue the hunt at any time.

"Help!"

"Retreat quickly!"

"We’re not their match!" people cried out, the security personnel on the helicopters also showing despair. Even attacking the vampire’s vital points with sniper rifles was just a drop in the bucket; its massive size and terrifying life recovery ability were daunting.

Xu Cheng and Bubble exchanged a glance and walked briskly toward the village.

The vampiric beast rampaged through the village, using its claws to pick up survivors from the rubble, twisting off their heads, placing the stumps against its throat, squeezing their bodies to make the blood from their headless bodies spray out from the neck, as if squeezing a drink carton.

When Xu Cheng and Bubble appeared, the security personnel were astounded.

"Retreat!"

"Retreat quickly!"

"What are you doing here?"

"Don’t come any closer! It’s dangerous up ahead! Can’t you see?" they shouted desperately to stop Xu Cheng from advancing.

Xu Cheng gestured for them to rest assured, then adjusted her breathing and walked up to the vampiric beast.

"Gurgle... a new sacrifice..." The vampiric beast looked down at Xu Cheng, feeling quite satisfied, "Completely mad, perhaps..."

"Gua!" Xu Cheng prepared for battle.

"Die!" The vampiric beast swung its claw.

Bam!

Its strong, furry brown claw was suddenly blocked in mid-air, crashing against an invisible wall, then rebounding instantly! It was first infuriated but then furiously struck the invisible wall, three times in total, all unsuccessful.

Seeing this, the Netanya security personnel were quite shocked.

"Look!"

"Its attack was suddenly deflected..."

"Is it the Witch?"

"How amazing! How could this be!" they shouted, amazed by the scene.

The vampiric beast let out a hoarse roar, slowly circling around Xu Cheng, its gaze falling on her slender body.

"Interesting..." the vampiric beast murmured, "a Witch... how do you plan to defeat me? With your... ’block’? You useless Witch."

Hearing the Vampire’s taunt, Xu Cheng channeled the Ripple, feeling quite imposing.

"Oh my, oh my... your biggest mistake was provoking me." She strode forward.

It let out an eerie laugh.

"Retreat quickly! Witch! Without sunlight, you can’t defeat it!" shouted the security personnel from the helicopter through a loudspeaker to those below.

"I have it!" Xu Cheng shouted.

She clenched her fists, gathering Ripple Kung Fu into her hands, then charged forward, launching a dense golden radiance at the vampiric beast!

Ripple Rush!

The vampiric beast retreated, unable to immediately discern what kind of power this was. The unfamiliar Ripple Kung Fu formed purifying energy, the scorching light washing over its flesh, tearing muscles and bones!

"Roar—" the vampiric beast screamed in agony.

The sun! Yan Duo’s radiant power shone as Xu Cheng did her utmost to pummel the vampiric beast. It wanted to flee but was unable to move, bones began to burn, skin began to carbonize. It raised its head high, and for the first time, the once cruel and proud eyes showed fear, with disdain turning into shock.

"No, no, no..." the vampiric beast roared in anger and pain, trembling wildly, trying to eliminate this new threat.

"I hit!" Xu Cheng punched one after another, each punch delivering countless concentrated golden waves of energy, crashing fiercely onto the vampiric beast.

"Shoot! Shoot!" The security forces were invigorated, hastily taking the time to fire desperately, further suppressing the vampiric beast with bullets.

Under the assault of sunlight and bullets, the once massive body of the vampiric beast was reduced to a mere skeletal remnant, unrecognizable in form. It let out one last scream before its body crashed heavily to the ground, shattering completely, utterly defeated.

Xu Cheng retracted her hand, and silence enveloped the village. Security personnel and surviving villagers approached, looking at the defeated monster under the helicopter’s spotlight.

Their voices... turned into jubilant shouts: "We did it!"

"What’s happening!"

"It... has been defeated!"

"What was that power? Was it new magic power?" People looked at Xu Cheng with reverence and curiosity.

"Quack quack!" Xu Cheng raised her fist.

"She did it, oh!" Bubble seized every opportunity to promote Xu Cheng.

The people escorted Xu Cheng back to New Eagle Fort, and her victory even alerted Maximilian IX himself. An attendant hurriedly entered the gaming room, devising a way to message Maximilian, who rarely left his beloved racing games and his fortress, to stretch his limbs lest people forget this scion of Habsburg.

When Xu Cheng returned, she looked around curiously. Some local reporters had arrived, along with many citizens, all shockingly and reverently looking at Xu Cheng, having heard how she summoned light powerful enough to defeat the great Vampire, reducing them to ashes.

Maximilian IX walked over, flanked by attendants, with his ancestral jutting chin, heavy eyelids, and a protruding lower lip under a bulbous nose, giving him an eternally dumbfounded expression, indicating how the deep-rooted ugly genes of Habsburg have passed down generation after generation.

"Ho... ha..." It’s been a long time since Maximilian spoke. His trademark large chin opened and closed dully, with no trace of leadership or ambition on his stupid bovine face. He became the ruler of New Eagle Fort through a series of accidents and luck, inheriting an insignificant political fortune.

"Quack quack." Xu Cheng saluted Maximilian.

Maximilian emerged from his long gaming revelry only to find the crisis resolved, with people cheering for the two little girls. He nodded, his gaze carrying confusion and a hint of gratitude.

Without warning, he drew his ceremonial sword, startling those around.

"Guabu!" Xu Cheng and Bubble glared at him fiercely, making Maximilian a little nervous.

"Re-relax." He said slowly, having Xu Cheng kneel on one knee, then tapping her left shoulder with his sword, followed by the right shoulder, "In the name of Maximilian IX Habsburg of Netanya, I hereby confer upon you the title of Baroness of Hexton Town, in recognition of your protection of my domain."

The crowd erupted in cheers, Xu Cheng blinked in surprise but lowered her head to accept this unexpected honor. Despite this guy’s foolishness and penchant for play, he at least had the wisdom to reward her bravery! And to recognize who indeed was the greatest here!

Maximilian slid his jeweled sword back into its sheath, muttering, "Of course... I’m still the lord here. But I’m giving you that village to thank you for how you protected us from the darkness."

"Does that village have cows?" Xu Cheng stood up and looked up.

"It has. It has." Maximilian said in a dull tone.

"Great!" Xu Cheng was overjoyed. She had coincidentally fulfilled her long-standing wish—to have her own dairy farm, where she could drink milk every day.

She saw several Habsburg family attendants approaching from behind Maximilian, carrying two boxes, presenting them to Xu Cheng and Bubble as gifts.

"These are presents." Maximilian IX waved his hand, "You... I know you came here as Envoys, and will probably leave soon, but I’ll send rights to your domain to a trust account in Taixi Continent. Wherever you go... I hope you won’t forget that Netanya, here... is a beautiful place."

Xu Cheng didn’t catch what he said, just accepted a large red box, eager to open it and see what was inside. While Bubble received a large white box, whose packaging alone was worth a fortune.

"Quack quack." Xu Cheng nodded to Maximilian IX. "We’re heading to Seven Hills soon."

"It’s best to go... to Seven Hills?" Maximilian IX scratched his head in confusion, "That place is suitable for you to use such skills against Vampires."

"Really? Are there a lot of Vampires there?" Xu Cheng asked curiously.

"Yes... Seven Hills has been ravaged by Vampires. It’s the origin of the... Vampire Plague sweeping across the Taixi Continent!"
