Chapter 1090: Chapter 845 Killing the Company Dog

The entire body of A40 was stained with blood, intestines and flesh of others hanging from its shoulders, with the tip of the sword entangled with intestines and wires.

The noise of the battle drowned out all other sounds.

"They’ve elevated the floors!" A999 looked up to see Xisheng’s staff trying to sever the connection between the upper and lower levels of the Khalifa Spire.

"Go up!" The Quantum Warrior sheathed his sword and grabbed A999 and A40 with both hands.

He leapt powerfully, landing on the high platform.

Boom boom!

Countless beams sprang from the laser trap, weaving a net of death. A999 threw a shield field emitter to block the raging trap with an energy wall.

A40 instantly burst into the enemy’s formation. Their numbers were a hundred times greater, but A40 slaughtered them like cutting through vegetables, ignoring the tremendous consumption of itself.

Bullets rained on its shell, leaving a series of dents. The sharpshooters wielding laser sniper rifles were especially deadly, already ordered to fire stealthily at A40 within the complex interior of the building.

Every file cabinet, every potted plant, every display window and shelf were potential sniper spots, with shuttles evading chaos in the sky to rush towards the upper levels of the Khalifa Spire, resupplying more manpower and resources, desperately draining A40 and its two companions.

At all costs!

Nevertheless, the brutal battlefield still intimidated the newly arrived mercenaries.

They reached the large passageway on the 110th floor of the Khalifa Spire, seeing a corridor full of severed limbs and shattered machinery.

The giant Quantum Warrior stood like a tower, stained red all over, A40 was like a frenzied demon, and A999 was equally brutal and belligerent.

One was the prototype, the common design template for all A-type synthetic humans; one was an inexplicable mutated machine; one was the final and most glorious A-type, the culmination of the entire design series.

The mercenaries fired from a distance.

They thought they could shoot and intercept, but in barely half a second, they were closed in upon and crushed!

With one sweeping strike, the Quantum Warrior killed a dozen mercenaries, A999 moved with speed beyond human reactive capabilities, A40 rushed towards the area with the most soldiers, slicing through flesh and bone with its blade.

It heard screams, the Night Silver metal effortlessly destroying armor and flesh, each dying, horrified face piecing together into a slaughter image in A40’s memory.

Today, more had been killed than ever before.

A40 looked back, the once clean floor now piled with corporate soldiers, strewn with countless weapons and metal fragments, as leaking fuel began to burn, melting the metal debris on the ground.

Blood dripped from its blade and body, the Night Silver blade was battered, and it quickly dismantled the blade.

"You’re too weak, you’ll overload soon," A999 tossed a new Night Silver blade to A40.

A40 was indeed already overloaded.

All of its processor power was completely dominated by combat modules, losing all cognitive and language abilities.

Too many killings.

Only A999, due to its more advanced performance, remained composed in this extremely brutal battlefield.

They continued to climb upwards, step by step approaching the rooftop of Honma Noriko.

The ultimate strike team plan of the three was highly effective, forcing the original command and business elite personnel within the Khalifa Spire to evacuate.

Even cybersecurity personnel like Laughing Star took off, leaving a gap in the city’s defense line.

The guards on the city’s edge sought instructions from the Khalifa Spire, but their signals couldn’t elicit any response.

They had to improvise, being crushed by the Renwang Security Special Attack Team led by Standing Black Hat.

The Netherworld Thunder God and Standing Black Hat formed an attack spearhead, rapidly advancing towards the center of Safalai City. Aisha brought armored vehicles and missiles, beginning to crush the outer defense line, promoting the Spice Law.

A999 led A40 upward.

The Khalifa Spire initially placed more emphasis on artistic, decorative aspects rather than defensive capabilities. After their fierce battles, the higher levels were unexpectedly less guarded, as if the defense forces had been breached, making it easier to advance than the mid-lower levels. The guards were also fewer, seemingly concentrating their forces for defense.

The upper levels were Honma Noriko’s private domain, filled with vast, zen-like gardens and spa clinics.

A999 could model and calculate the scene of Honma Noriko enjoying leisurely life and viewing the urban scenery every day here.

Looking outward, the sky was entirely dark, like the end of the world.

The consistently sunny Safalai City now faced an unprecedented apocalyptic storm, with the sun flickering mysteriously, its movements uncertain.

"Roar!" Wei Shiyue flapped her wings, grappling with the Archangel Magiel.

Magiel’s white wings unfolded completely, as if to enshroud the city below entirely.

He soared high and intercepted Wei Shiyue, gripping a flaming rune sword, his face completely obscured within the shadow of a golden hood, words of righteous indignation emerging even though his lips were unseen.

"Fall back, foul dragon!" He swung the longsword, unleashing an eruption of orange-red flames.

Tongues of flame surged in all directions, licking the air.

Wei Shiyue opened her massive maw, spewing out moon-white flames, but Magiel was quicker, dodging aside and swinging his sword.

A999 led the increasingly frenzied A40 upward, witnessing new developments in the ongoing combat between the dragon and the angel on each new level.

"I won’t let this city fall!" Magiel shouted, "I won’t let the Spice Coast fall into evil hands, I am justice, I am flame!"

"Aargh—" Wei Shiyue lunged forward suddenly, attempting to bite Magiel.

"Compared to my power, you are nothing! Surrender and face judgment, or bear the full wrath of the heavens!" Each counterattack by the Archangel Magiel brought a massive flame storm.

The flames were so powerful that the air above the entire city began to crackle, as though the sky itself was infused with energy, forcing Wei Shiyue to retreat.

The giant angelic hologram wielding a bow continuously shot at Wei Shiyue, making her always wary of the fiery arrows’ threats during her attacks.

She soared rapidly through the air, and when flying at full throttle, even fighter jets couldn’t catch up to Wei Shiyue. Magiel, realizing Wei Shiyue intended to use her speed advantage to create distance, chased relentlessly, determined to slay this white dragon.

"The holy light will purge all your evil thoughts! Filthy undead creature! Face me, face the light and glory!" Magiel pursued.

A999 ascended another flight of stairs, entering a massive ward.

The doctors and nurses retreated, terrified, as a mysterious woman in a black cloak sat up in bed.

Her skin was pale, and her eyes were accented with black eyeshadow.

She didn’t look very strong, but the Quantum Warrior stepped forward, signaling A999 to take A40 upstairs to hunt down Honma Noriko, while he would handle things here.

"Wow, you’re staying to deal with her? Is she really that strong?" A999 held the almost out-of-control A40 from behind.

"She’s an Ancient Vampire, and there are many more hidden nearby. Leave it to me." The Quantum Warrior glanced at the surrounding shadows.

Their disguises exposed, the vampires began to reveal themselves one by one.

The Ancient Vampire in the ward was Lady Isabella, who had returned to the headquarters to heal after being shot. Seeing the trio who fought their way up from the tower base, she couldn’t help but feel some awe.

"Come on." She teased, flipping her hand to reveal a bloody spike, "You’re clever, and we’ll slowly tear apart your strong shell."

"Go!" A999 hurriedly took the frantic A40 upstairs to find Honma Noriko.

Only after having drawn the vampires out of A40’s sight did A999 feel A40’s resistance weakening slightly.

...This guy... A999 observed A40.

They slashed their way along the path, finally reaching just a floor below Honma Noriko’s tea room.

The situation became especially perilous here, with A999 being attacked by hundreds of laser rounds just by setting foot on the floor. They pierced through the air above its head, shooting through the entire wall.

"Damn." A999 checked, finding all of Honma Noriko’s personal guards had been pulled back from the front line.

If not for Yanagawa Fumihiko being killed, they would still be on the front line blocking Aisha, shooting those chaotic troops of desert nomads.

"..." A40 gripped its sword, its body trembling unnaturally.

"You only know how to fight, right? Your thought module is only left with combat, right? But A40! I’m telling you! We can only go this far, no further!" A999 shook A40.

"..." A40 didn’t respond, its eye tubes flashing with pure, furious blood-red.

"Don’t you understand? Honma Noriko’s best fighters have been called back. We’ve killed so many company dogs, a total of 1,030 people and 894 robots have been smashed by us. We’ve already won. Leave the rest to those stronger ones, leave it to those Witches, understand?" A999 urgently advised A40.

"..." A40 didn’t respond.

"Maybe Honma Noriko has already fled. We’ve been fighting for so long. As soon as Yanagawa Fumihiko died, she knew the Khalifa Spire wasn’t safe. Our goal is to disrupt here, not to go up and die. What if you get to the tea room and find no one there?" A999 was anxious.

"..." A40 didn’t respond.

"Sigh." A999 lowered its head.

Its forehead pressed against A40’s metallic head.

"People say I’m the most precise model, and you’re the most uncontrollable, most irritable model. But I can find your shadow in myself, fool! Wake up! I’m just you iterated 959 times! You want to challenge me and the Quantum Warrior for a woman, I’m telling you, a woman is nothing at all!" A999 said.

It dragged A40 forward. Unstoppable, their speed was extremely fast, like a pair of shuttles, instantly breaking into the final defense under Honma Noriko’s command.

A999 had more tools on it. It activated the shield field to cover A40’s advance. When they rushed to the atrium, the dense shooting had completely shattered the shield. A40 aimed at the farthest enemy, swung Sakura Passing, and the potent power teleported it behind the opponent, enabling it to traverse the enemy lines, directly charging into Honma Noriko’s tea room!

The last 50 steps!

Meanwhile, staying in the lower atrium, A999’s shield field was destroyed, becoming ineffective. The body was instantly bombarded by thousands of projectiles, causing the body to disintegrate, metallic limbs shattered, leaving an empty framework.

A40 arrived in the corridor in front of Honma Noriko’s tea room, where countless people had once paced back and forth, just to meet Honma Noriko.

But A40 needed no appointment!

It cleaved open the sliding door and charged into the tea room.

Honma Noriko...

Is here!

She sat kneeling behind a low table on the tatami, holding a teacup in both hands, looking up at A40.

A40 unhesitatingly teleported towards Honma Noriko, attacking from behind.

It’s won.

Bam!

Its arm was severed, and Sakura Passing rolled to the ground.

Then came another rapid loud noise, as a series of sharp gas blades swiftly swept through, cutting A40’s legs.

A40 crashed heavily behind Honma Noriko, its broken joints clashing with the tatami. Just a bit more...

Honma Noriko stood up, turning her head to look down at A40, who had lost its right arm and both legs.

Her gaze was cold, without mockery or disdain, but more like looking at a pig.

Sparks flickered from the broken wires and circuit boards of A40, already burned out.

From the room’s corner came Nilu.

"Madam, it almost succeeded." Nilu chuckled.

"Throw it away." Honma Noriko said flatly.

Nilu grabbed A40’s remaining arm, lifting its damaged body.

"A, 4, 0." Nilu read its name aloud.

She carried A40’s single arm to the edge of the tea room terrace, where the storm outside roared.

"...Nilu..." A40 said with difficulty, the storm rocking its battered body.

"Ha, people sent by Nestor Corporation? Wasn’t it I who killed your president? I’ll never forget, and neither will she! She was hiding in the snow until I found her, unleashed my Magic Power, and tore her to pieces! I killed her, crippled her, turned Lila Nestor into a toy! From scouting Witch to mechanical puppet, to now the pretentious ’president’!" Nilu roared, the higher Lila was now, the more she enjoyed the memories of tormenting Lila.

She lifted A40 to the edge of the Khalifa Spire’s top floor, then let go. A40 was thrown down from a thousand meters high.
