Chapter 1066: Chapter 832: Iron Among Witches_3
"Our family has fallen." Aisha summarized briefly, her gaze fixed on the sprawling mansion and estate before her, a faint bitterness shading her expression.
Compared to upstarts like Honma Noriko, Aisha firmly believed that families like hers—the Spice Nobles—were the rightful rulers of the Spice Coast.
The Aisha family residence was situated atop a rare, vast natural oasis in the desert, surrounded by towering white walls encircling three sprawling mansions. Palm trees rose higher than the walls, their immense emerald fronds providing shade for the courtyard.
The windows and doors were all arched, which Pan Ruiyi found to exude a very distinct exotic aesthetic.
The off-road vehicle came to a stop in front of the marble corridor. Pan Ruiyi stepped out, her gaze falling on the intricate mosaic murals adorning the walls, resembling some kind of flattened maze, perpetually impossible to decipher.
"I’ve already ordered food to be prepared; you won’t be left hungry." Aisha led Pan Ruiyi and her team toward the dining room.
There were few servants around—only Hasan and a handful of outdated D-type Synthetic Humans from Nestor Corporation were bustling about. There wasn’t even a single D2 model.
"This place isn’t bad at all." Pan Ruiyi clicked her tongue in admiration.
She walked off from the group, heading off to inspect other parts of the Aisha family mansion.
Pan Ruiyi was so tall that her head nearly grazed the doorframe. At that moment, with her chest held high and striding boldly forward, she resembled a mare leisurely roaming the courtyard, making one worry about whether she would trample over anyone crossing her path.
Surrounding the courtyard were four wing buildings, with a large bronze lion fountain at its center. Water was supposed to cascade out of the lion’s mouth, but, likely due to funding constraints, it was currently inoperative. The surrounding pool was dry, exposing an abundance of vibrantly colored pebbles at the bottom.
The air was suffused with the fragrance of roses and jasmine, yet much of the flowers were nearing their wilted end. Pan Ruiyi mused that had she come a few weeks later, she might no longer have been able to enjoy such scents.
Rejoining the group and returning to the dining room, she found the mansion’s interior covered in velvet carpets and illuminated by crystal chandeliers. However, many of these items had clearly been sold off; her gaze could only find empty picture frames, lone statue pedestals, and purely decorative display cabinets scattered about.
Evidently, to maintain her elegant lifestyle and preserve the outward grandeur of the estate, Aisha had sold off nearly all of her ancestral artworks and precious collections.
The dining room was no exception. Though spacious and featuring an impressively long central table, all the once-decorative elements were missing. Velvet tapestries, handmade embroidery, ancient paintings, and portraits of noble ladies—all had vanished. The lone vase left standing was dull and lifeless, containing a solitary sunflower, lonely to the point of despair—better off uprooted than left alone.
There wasn’t even air conditioning, making the room oppressively hot. Sitting on the hard wooden chair, Pan Ruiyi immediately felt sweat pooling under her.
"Whew... whew..." Pan Ruiyi fanned herself with her hands.
Hasan and the other D-type Synthetic Humans swiftly began serving dishes, while a few human maids finally appeared, albeit tardily, to handle passing the food, serving wine, and arranging dining utensils for the guests.
The entourage Pan Ruiyi had brought—robots, agents, operatives, spies, Bureau of Secrets personnel, ninjas, and Battle Witches—all displayed remarkable restraint while dining, doing their utmost not to inconvenience their hosts and maintaining an air of politeness and decorum.
Only Pan Ruiyi herself indulged gluttonously, eating voraciously with wild abandon.
She removed her helmet’s lower faceplate, revealing the lower half of her face for ease of eating. As soon as the food arrived at her table, it instantly disappeared, swiftly entering her lips and being crushed by her sharp teeth.
The dishes didn’t even have time to process what was happening before being sent to her stomach to face the ferocious power of Pan Ruiyi’s unparalleled digestive system.
"More food! More food!" Pan Ruiyi shouted repeatedly. As soon as the plate before her was empty, she raised her hand without hesitation, demanding that Aisha’s servants bring out even more dishes!
The moment of the feast had arrived!
