Chapter 1056: Chapter 826 On Education and 1000 Trees_2
Xu Cheng was so patient, kind, and brave, but simply because they disliked school education, problems started to arise. Even after Xu Yang ordered a specially customized course, Xu Cheng still didn’t seem to enjoy it.
"In the past, people claimed education was the key to breaking rigid orders. Now, it only widens social inequality," Lila said.
Indeed, Xu Yang thought silently. The wealthy and the gifted relied on brain enhancement, genetic engineering, and premium elite education to continuously climb the educational tower, while the poor and less intelligent could only look up in despair. Knowledge had become so vast and difficult that even the traditional practice of "studying hard" had lost its efficacy, forcing them into a lifetime of lower-level education and limited-return jobs.
In the end, when they looked up, they could only watch as the wealth elites and their expert entourage reaped fortunes.
Jobs that once served as a middle ground, accessible with some education, had now been wholly overtaken by AI, with artificial intelligence eliminating approximately five billion positions. The world ultimately split into four labor tiers: the rich, experts, AI, and the underclass. Between the underclass and experts, countless opportunities and benefits had been seized by AI.
"I’m afraid Xu Cheng won’t be able to compete with others," Xu Yang said.
"Living peacefully is also a blessing," Lila consoled.
"It’s not enough; this world consumes people. The answer is to eliminate entrepreneurs and progress into a fully automated, luxurious era of liberty. Humans should only engage in work that aligns with their true nature and maximizes their ability, letting AI handle everything troublesome. The current corporate model, where each added robot means one less human job, drives humanity to fear and antagonize artificial intelligence instead," Xu Yang said.
The wealth elites, power elites, and tech elites used AI and robots to squeeze ordinary people out of living spaces, forcing them to endure suffering. Technology was not developed for the universal benefit and advancement of humankind but rather for profit and maintaining barriers, hindering social mobility.
In the blink of an eye, people realized their jobs were taken by robots, their rights stripped away, leaving them increasingly insignificant in the eyes of the elites.
Robots don’t consume, creating the perception of self-destructive recklessness. But Xu Yang knew that elite groups pursued rocket-fueled departures from the planet or uploaded their consciousness to servers to enjoy endless lifespans, giving them no psychological burden as they dismantled ordinary lives at will.
"Now, crimes and conflicts regarding robots are also on the rise. Master, the new criminal group called the ’Domination Movement’ has already set fire to more than fifty D2 units on the West Coast. Their banner calls for eradicating robots. Humans and Witches are forming a unified front against intelligent machinery to reclaim opportunities stolen from humanity," Lila cautioned.
"D2s are merely Synthetic Humans for household services, and this concern was taken into account from the beginning," Xu Yang responded.
"But since D2 became popular, it has completely wiped out all assistants, tour guides, butlers, consultants, and every retail worker. The West Coast’s Panoramic Supermarket originally had 2,000 employees—all of them were laid off yesterday, replaced with D2 units," Lila said.
Competing for profits with humans!
"There seems to be opposition from non-male groups as well," Xu Yang reported.
"Yes, the Non-Male Rights Movement claims D2’s existence overly ’panders to men,’ reinforcing ’patriarchy,’ weakening the necessity of marriage, and obstructing all normal, sacred, and free relationships between men and non-men," Lila replied.
"Public opinion is getting dangerously loud," Xu Yang felt that opposing forces would soon use this as an opportunity to escalate tensions.
Although D2 had good intentions and brought massive revenues to Nestor Corporation, it also had its own critical flaws.
When the Divine Radiance arrived at Nestor Corporation, Xu Yang went to visit the long-missed Little Qianshu.
She could be called Xu Qianshu or Kojima Chishiki. Currently one year old, she was an incredibly adorable little baby.
Xu Yang carefully slid open the cherry blossom-painted door, seeing Chishiki playing on the tatami mat, crawling around in her little room, curious about everything.
The entire room was decorated in a traditional style. She tried reaching out to touch the delicately arranged flowers on the low table, and as her fingers brushed the petals, they quivered slightly, seemingly influenced by Chishiki’s Magic Power, growing visibly more vibrant in color.
The Plant Witch, Chishiki!
The multi-tiered wooden shelves held plush toys and building blocks, but Chishiki preferred lying on the soft silk cushions. After a while, she went back, lying on her back, seeming to have little energy, stretching her tiny arms and legs slowly, like a gentle and sweet little animal. Her tender movements made Xu Yang smile unknowingly.
What a lovely child.
"Daddy, nia?" Chishiki turned her head towards Xu Yang and made a faint, soft sound.
"Daddy’s here," Xu Yang squatted down slightly and picked Chishiki up.
Chishiki snuggled into her father’s arms, her small body almost weightless.
Ah! His dear daughter. He felt Chishiki was unbelievably tender and endearing—gentler than Little Fool, even lighter in weight.
Chishiki’s gaze roamed over the other room furnishings, the exquisite embroidered screens, neat bonsai arrangements, and ceramic ornaments—all were stunningly beautiful, as if she were already developing an aesthetic sense at such a young age.
"Chishiki!" Xu Cheng leapt over from behind.
Chishiki lazily gave her a glance.
"Nya, nya." Chishiki reached out a small hand, as if to greet her.
"Put her in the stroller and let me push her for a bit, Daddy!" Xu Cheng said anxiously.
"You have to push her gently," Xu Yang said as he placed Chishiki into the stroller beside him.
Chishiki was dressed in a diaphanous baby gown, woven from expensive satin, like a naturally-born Princess of the noble halls.
"Let’s go!" Xu Cheng gently pushed Chishiki down the corridor, taking her to the sunlit open-air hallway outside. Chishiki lay softly in her stroller, observing everything with gentle eyes, utterly pure and free from malice.
Xu Yang’s heart threatened to melt. Chishiki! My Chishiki...
Kojima Kanako heard Xu Yang had arrived and quickly set aside her work to look for him.
"Chishiki is just like a natural-born lady," Xu Yang couldn’t help but admit.
"I’ve never seen her cry or fuss much. She will surely grow up intelligent—it’ll be easy for her to inherit the great enterprise in the future," Kanako smiled.
"I hope the world will have fewer problems when she grows up," Xu Yang said.
"By the way, you could get a talisman or something for Chishiki. Isn’t she the Plant Witch? You could as well take this chance to meet the Forest Master for Chishiki’s sake," Kanako suggested to Xu Yang.
"Indeed, the Forest Master must have some plant-related treasures to gift Chishiki. It’s also an opportunity to improve relationships," Xu Yang agreed, nodding.
Kanako squinted and glanced at Xu Cheng and the timid Bubble in the distance, then turned her gaze to Chishiki in the stroller.
"Yang, focus all your attention on Chishiki," Kanako said softly. "Don’t forget, Xu Cheng is a child you adopted."
