Cyber Era Witch -
Chapter 102 - 102 85 The Day You've Dreamed Of
102: Chapter 85 The Day You’ve Dreamed Of 102: Chapter 85 The Day You’ve Dreamed Of On the way to the Shrine, aside from Lila driving, there were only Xu Yang and Farosa.
“Once your Magic Power is restored, you need to be careful to conceal any signs of its leakage,” Xu Yang instructed, “The company has the capability to detect Magic Power, and your overflowing, formidable Power will be hard to hide from inspection.”
“Covert operations?
That’s elementary for me,” Farosa dismissed, “Don’t forget what I’m best at.”
Xu Yang looked carefully at Farosa; she did not avoid his gaze and met it.
Farosa’s Power was about to be recovered soon.
Her dual Magic Powers were no small matter.
The “Law of Recovery” could bring the dead back to life while “Life Annihilation” could exterminate all organic life.
Combined, they provided strong defensive and reality-manipulation capabilities, as well as efficient enemy eradication.
She was, in herself, crafty, intelligent, and quick to respond.
All of this together…
After the advent of the corporate era, the witches’ Powers had been greatly limited and restrained, but today, a powerful Witch unbound by any shackles had descended upon the human realm.
“We can truly accomplish something, it’s not a dream, hold me tight,” Farosa moved closer to Xu Yang, caressed his cheek, and Xu Yang responded in kind, her expression dreamy, her lips soft.
“The days you’ve been longing for.”
“This is just the beginning, recovering Power is merely the starting point of all plans.
I want to rebuild the Council that humans erased and have humans experience all the agony witches have tasted throughout history,” she said.
“I won’t just stand by and do nothing.”
“Try to stop me.”
“How about this?” Xu Yang did his best to search Farosa, finding nothing but searing heat and softness where he touched.
“No need to rush… Don’t forget that I can give you everything…” Farosa was quite accommodating, taking the initiative and asking for much, “…as long as you listen to me, obey me, act according to my thoughts…”
“Doing as you say, everything will fail,” Xu Yang gasped, “If you vent your hatred on humans, they will retaliate a thousandfold.
History has already proven that humans have a greater capacity for adaptation…”
“You’re talking nonsense.” Farosa wrapped her arms around Xu Yang’s back, “Humans falter before witches, bowing before them.
This is a reality that predates and is much longer than history.
Humans are fragile, just like you, you cannot possibly resist the beauty of this moment…”
“…Humans are not fragile, and I, representing humanity, will now change your perception.”
“Turning me into an animal that can only moan, you really are too bad…”
Boom, boom—
The Shuttle Machine swayed.
“We’re experiencing turbulence,” Lila stated, “Passengers, please maintain balance and fasten your seatbelts.”
“I’m at a loss for words,” Farosa commented toward Lila at the control panel, then sat up and straightened her hair.
Xu Yang’s heart pounded; he pressed his forehead, reflecting on the previous conversation.
If everything were done according to Farosa’s whims, both humans and witches would be plunged into endless catastrophe.
Her idea was nothing more than to revert the order to thousands of years prior, meaning the time when the Witch Council ruled unilaterally and humans lived in poverty and primitiveness.
It was a return to the starting point of historical cycles, ultimately just repeating the Witch Wars.
Humans were not willing to become slaves to witches.
History needed to progress.
Our history lacked innovation—it was comprised solely of violence, conflict, and domination.
It couldn’t go on like this.
Xu Yang shared his views with Farosa, but she only sighed.
“From my point of view,” she said, “the ability of humans to progress is nothing more than a minor coincidence, and their changes are superficial.
Class stratification and oppression from above and below remain your most basic mode of survival.
You never learn, nor can you grow.
The distinguished man’s assets have simply moved from castles to corporations, while the pauper’s food has turned from bread to Nutrient Paste.
You even regard living to 50 as an accomplishment, how can I hold humans in regard?”
Indeed, as Farosa said, human history had entered a massive predicament.
Corporatism was no longer a force pushing human progress; it had become a hindrance to development.
In other words, nothing would change until all corporations were destroyed.
The Shuttle Machine stopped in front of the “Suzuki Springs” bathhouse.
Xu Yang and Farosa stepped out of the Shuttle Machine; he gripped his gun and led Farosa inside.
Along the way, there were many rotting corpses, human and Ratman alike, the air filled with a nauseating stench that forced Xu Yang to increase the air filtration capabilities of his Nano Armor, while Farosa frowned, arms crossed over her chest, clearly displeased with the surroundings.
All around was deathly still, the only sound that of their own footsteps.
Ever since the Suzuki Group had withdrawn, the place had been neglected, rot and bloodshed deterring even thieves; without payment, no one came to clean up.
The chill was pervasive, any rustle of grass easily conjuring images of ghosts.
They made their way straight to the inner room within the central courtyard.
The central rockery still stood, the once flowing fountain water now stagnant, lotus leaves decaying on the water’s surface, and the pool emitted deep purple ripples, as if sprinkled with potent poison—uncertain how it had come to be in this state.
Passing over the adjacent wooden pathway, the corpses of several Ratmen lay as part of the decaying scenery.
The Shrine was still adorned in blood-red, except the blades previously affixing the door had vanished.
“It’s just behind there,” Farosa said, “a step away.”
“The deity must be looking forward to it as well.”
“Of course, I am the deity’s most affectionate, most reliable servant.” Farosa mused, “The bond between the deity and me is the closest.
It’s a pity you never saw the time when I was utterly devoted; you would have been impressed.”
“There will be other chances, as long as the deity remains.”
Farosa smiled at Xu Yang.
“Thank you,” she said, “I’ve always been like this, remarkably solitary and headstrong.
I thought life was just monotonous, but I’ve still encountered some different landscapes…
Xu Yang, it’s truly nice to have met you in this long life.”
“There are so many things you should thank me for,” Xu Yang said, “and there are many more things we’ll do together in the future.”
“When I’m inside, obtaining power,” Farosa said earnestly, “you mustn’t peek.”
“What?”
“It might take a little time, and the process won’t be pleasant,” Farosa instructed, “and if you once peep, everything will fail.
You absolutely cannot see what happens inside; you must wait for me to come out.
And Lila, you are not to observe what happens inside either, or you will also meet with disaster.”
“I know,” Lila closed her eyes, “who wants to see you interacting with that thing?”
“I won’t peek randomly either.” Xu Yang promised, “You do your thing, and I’ll just wait outside, but…”
“Hmm?
What now?”
“After you come out of there, will you still be the Farosa I know?”
Farosa chuckled softly.
“If you are willing to measure on a more long-term scale, then I’ll still be the Farosa you know.”
Farosa turned, her smile growing more and more terrifying.
She approached the shrine step by step; the door trembled slightly, as if it too feared what was about to happen.
It kept spilling out dark purple auras and foam-like liquid, initially wanting to exert its control outward, but after Farosa’s arrival, it frantically contracted backward, fruitlessly trying to hide its own existence.
Ah, the great deity, transcendent through the millennia, to see You now in such a weakened state truly grieves me.
The unpredictability of rise and fall is astonishing.
Alas, no matter, for the loyal servant has returned, filled with nothing but gratitude in her heart.
Farosa touched the door, pushed it open, and slipped inside.
The inside of the shrine was pitch black, with only the squirming of a massive blind entity, which, upon sensing Farosa’s entry, instantly began to flee backward.
It crawled on the ground, sluggish and weary, rustling as it moved.
Farosa took off her shoes and followed the trail of slime it left in the darkness.
Inside the room, it struggled and hid, but the distance between it and Farosa kept shortening.
“It’s hard, isn’t it!” Farosa said emotionally, “Glorious deity…
it must be hard without the vast sea to dwell in, in such a place…
but it’s okay…
it won’t be long before you’re not sad anymore…”
She pounced, pressing her whole body against the massive being, feeling its dry, thorny skin with her palms and cheeks.
The highly dehydrated, vitality-drained creature was unable to move in Farosa’s arms, helplessly secreting only some foam.
Farosa kept searching until her hand grasped its soft eye, which spun and contracted in her palm, then stiffened with extreme fear.
She clenched it firmly and viciously gouged it out.
Sorry, making You bleed once again!
The giant creature, in pain, madly slammed against the walls of the dark space, to no avail.
The inner chamber was like a different dimension, its commotion unable to affect the outside world and impossible to escape from, leaving it in utter despair, silently wailing.
“Glorious deity, I’m starting, and I thank You for Your sacrifices…
I still remember Your teachings well; You told me what to do…”
Farosa opened her mouth and bit down repeatedly.
Delicious body of the deity…
“Leading the witches…
protecting the witches…
in that era when we had nothing…
such hardship…” Farosa reminisced about the days she spent with the deity, sentimentally pulling out its intestines.
With every piece of flesh she swallowed, she could feel magic power surging in her body.
I’m sorry, aren’t I…
Making the deity end up like this, causing everyone to be slaughtered over this millennium.
But that’s okay…
I was asleep anyway.
Besides, a new deity, a Witch Goddess, will soon set the twisted order right again.
