Chapter 759: Chapter 759: Being Single-Minded, is a Kind of Responsibility

After leaving the police station, Zhu Qianying announced her intention to visit Yanhuang Group and observe the progress at the studio. However, the younger Yanhuang did not accompany Zhu Qianying back to Yanhuang, as he was tied up with other matters.

The studio’s construction had only really kicked off over the past couple of days. Zhu Qianying’s visit was mainly to distract herself, so she wouldn’t constantly dwell on the incident involving her baby boy.

Given the current progress, it wouldn’t be long before the real culprit was apprehended. Regardless, as a mother, she couldn’t help but feel distressed each time she thought about what had happened.

Hence, she had to keep herself occupied. Only then could she temporarily set aside her son’s situation.

Noticing Zhu Qianying’s presence, the designer, who was in charge of the entire design, enthusiastically waved his hands at her from afar. After she approached, he greeted her with a smile.

"Seeing how Mr. Yanhuang has been staring at us intently these past two days, I suppose you’re still feeling uneasy?"

It was then that Zhu Qianying realized that, even in her absence, the younger Yanhuang had carefully monitored the situation. She had initially thought that, with his hectic schedule, he might neglect the matters at her studio.

"Not at all, I trust all of you completely! I just happened to be around and thought I should check up on the progress."

Under the designer’s guidance, she toured both floors. Although she expected the place to be in chaos, she found that everything was well-organized and systematic.

"You all have been working hard. Judging by the rate we’re moving at, I believe we’re likely to finish ahead of our projected timeline, aren’t we?"

As Zhu Qianying spoke, she began handing out the cold drinks she had bought along the way to the busy workers.

"That’s indeed a testament to Mr. Yanhuang’s contributions. He insisted that I have two teams work simultaneously on the site. Hence, the progress you’re seeing right now is double the initial projected rate."

While the designer responded with a bit of frustration, Zhu Qianying could only repeatedly apologize on behalf of the assertive Young Master Yanhuang. Nevertheless, she felt inexplicably satisfied inside.

After touring the studio, Zhu Qianying checked the time and found that it was still a while until her son’s school ended. Following her farewell to the designer, she headed up to the top floor, planning on stopping by the younger Yanhuang’s office for a bit.

Anyway, her office supplies were still in there, so she could also get some work done.

With all the recent occurrences, the extremely busy Yanhuang had amassed a significant backlog of work. Zhu Qianying too had ended up with quite a number of tasks on her plate.

As she stepped out of the elevator into the main hall, she crossed paths with Qin Xiu, who was seeing off a visitor. Zhu Qianying gave a smiling nod to Qin Xiu and the client, before walking directly into the younger Yanhuang’s office.

The younger Yanhuang’s reputation as a man who led a clean lifestyle free from dalliances with women and remained faithful throughout his wife’s study abroad years was not a secret in their circles. Now, seeing that a beautiful woman was freely moving in and out of his office, the client naturally believed that he had landed upon an incredible discovery, causing him to tease.

"Mr. Qin, when did Mr. Yanhuang hire such a pretty secretary? I thought he was impervious to such charms!"

The tone of Qin Xiu’s response immediately turned solemn.

"Mr. Zeng, watch your words! She’s not just any secretary. She’s Mr. Yanhuang’s wife! Her studio is housed in the building downstairs and is currently undergoing renovation. Right now, she’s working in Mr. Yanhuang’s office."

Qin Xiu’s words caused Mr. Zeng to break out in a cold sweat. He quietly thanked his lucky stars that he had said what he did to Qin Xiu, rather than directly to Mrs. Yanhuang.

"So, Mr. Yanhuang’s wife is so attractive. No wonder the ordinary women out there don’t catch his eye. If I had such a beautiful wife, I too would likely be completely dedicated to her."

Qin Xiu was initially merely offering a friendly reminder to Mr. Zeng. However, hearing him continue to spout nonsense, he couldn’t help but retaliate.

"Don’t chalk up your infidelity to your wife not being attractive enough. Experience has shown that people can succumb to aesthetic fatigue. Even the most beautiful object, if seen repeatedly, will lose its appeal. Therefore, fidelity and commitment are more a matter of responsibility and mindset, and do not hinge on a wife’s beauty."

Mr. Zeng was left speechless by Qin Xiu’s retort. He awkwardly rubbed his nose and conceded, "You’re absolutely right, Mr. Qin!"

Not wanting to waste any more time on him, Qin Xiu turned right around and left after sending the client off in the elevator, without even bothering to bid him farewell.

Zhu Qianying, sitting in front of her desk at the office, began working on the computer. Hearing a knock at the door, she knew it was Qin Xiu, so she instructed him to enter without glancing up from her work.

When Qin Xiu stepped in, he noted that Zhu Qianying was busily typing away at her computer.

"Ying Zi, am I intruding?"

Only then did Zhu Qianying look up and give him a smile. "Not at all. I’m just making some simple notes. What’s up? Come, sit here!"

Zhu Qianying motioned towards an empty chair in front of the younger Yanhuang’s desk. Qin Xiu needed no further coaxing and promptly made himself comfortable.

"You and grandfather went to the police station earlier today, right? How did it go? Have all the details regarding the incident been sorted out?"

Although hardly anyone was aware of the false charges laid against her son, Qin Xiu had known about the situation even before Zhu Qianying did. That’s because he was with the younger Yanhuang when the latter received the call from the principal.

"Not yet. The suspect is extremely stubborn and insists that his actions towards my son and me were entirely his own decisions, and had nothing to do with anyone else."

Nonetheless, in this world, love or hatred unjustified doesn’t exist. Zhu Qianying and her son were strangers to the suspect. Before the incident, their lives had no point of intersection at all. To suggest that he intended to frame Zhu Qianying and her son seemed implausible no matter how you viewed it.

All Qin Xiu could do was reassure Zhu Qianying. "Don’t worry. Grandfather and Kai Zi have been keeping very close tabs on him recently. I’m confident they’ve collected a substantial amount of evidence by now. The truth will soon be out, and the real culprit will be caught."

"Yes, I understand."

Qin Xiu’s statement was exactly the same as the younger Yanhuang’s, which made it clear that he was quite well-acquainted with a majority of the progress concerning the investigation.

In contrast, Zhu Qianying only had a limited understanding of how things were advancing with the case.

Presumably, the younger Yanhuang didn’t want her to worry, so he refrained from talking about the investigation as much as possible.

Furthermore, it was probable that the mastermind behind the attack had a close connection with Zhu Qianying. Hence, the younger Yanhuang did not wish to reveal his speculations too early, lest it affected her mood and perception.

Once she observed the younger Yanhuang’s intentions, she refrained from asking about the investigation’s progress. She knew that even if she pried, he wouldn’t divulge anything.

At any rate, she trustingly believed that Yanhuang would keep her informed on anything he could discuss the moment it came up and would keep anything he couldn’t to himself, regardless of how much she pried.

After some small talk with Zhu Qianying about matters of little consequence, Qin Xiu excused himself to attend to his own matters.

Zhu Qianying stayed in Yanhuang’s office until around four in the afternoon. Seeing that it was almost time to leave, she switched off her computer, tidied up, and prepared to leave.

After picking up her son, her son got into the car and said to Zhu Qianying, "Mommy, Xiao Hai has transferred schools!"

Zhu Qianying was momentarily taken aback, before she remembered that the younger Yanhuang had mentioned this matter to her.
