Chapter 1000: Trapping a Killer! (4)

Timeless Tower, floor 100th,

Constant Baron-1 was sitting in a cross-legged position while the open black book was hovering in front of him, shimmering in crimson hue.

Right at this moment, the black book suddenly trembled violently, and Constant Baron-1’s eyes snapped open. He instantly started coughing and shaking his body.

The black mask on his face fell, revealing a charming yet ashen face, black blood was oozing from his orifice, and his healthy skin started to wither. His young appearance turned into an old, wrinkled face with black veins.

His eyes were filled with disbelief and fear as he quickly flipped his hand and took out a bright crimson vial. Without any delay, he opened it and emptied it in his mouth. Only then did he stop coughing, but his appearance remained the same.

"W-who is he?!" His hoarse yet weak voice rang filled with terror and hatred. He thought it was nothing but a nightmare, but reality was often cruel.

Today, not only did his plan of getting rid of Constant Baron-0 fail, but he had suffered a tremendous loss. Even his two most powerful pawns were killed. Although he knew they would be ’revived’, it no longer matters because they won’t be what they were, and it would take tremendous time and resources to reach where they were.

Furthermore, Constant Baron-1 has suffered a terrible backlash himself, and he won’t be able to recover in a short amount of time. It wasn’t because he didn’t have the resources to recover; it was because of the book, which was a double-edged sword.

Although this treasure gave him a considerable advantage and power, if it were damaged, Constant Baron-1 would be the one to pay the price. Every heterodox soul artifact was like this.

Furthermore, Constant Baron-0 won’t be staying still while he recovers. Even if he had assurance of safety from the Timeless Tower, he knew he had failed, and his backer wouldn’t like to hear it.

But what put the terror in his heart was still Jacob, and how easily he killed everyone off.

’A Quasi-Myth...with the comprehension of at least three laws or above. How could’ve that bitch has invited him?!’ His mind was a mess from weakness, and because he was a vampire, the moment his blood vitality was injured, he would eventually fall into slumber if he didn’t want to waste away his remaining blood vitality.

This was the biggest disadvantage of the vampire race!

"I need to make preparations..." Clenching his teeth, he endured the pain and the urge to fall asleep before he weakly stood up and walked towards the teleportation hall.

Back to the wasteland,

Jacob reappeared where Constant Baron-0 and the other three Legendary Kings were located. At most, he had only gone for a minute, and everyone was still on high alert against him.

Even Constant Baron-0 wouldn’t dare to imagine that Jacob had taken care of Constant Baron-1 and his group in this short minute.

The moment Jacob reappeared, those Legendary Kings were given a scare as they quickly gathered their power and remained together because they weren’t confident in taking him on.

Constant Baron-0 was also shocked and curious about where Jacob had gone. She even thought he had left her there, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

"They are gone." Jacob sent an ambiguous Soul Transmission to Constant Baron-0 before looking towards those Legendary Kings.

"Why were you here?" He coldly asked.

Although it may seem that he was still fine, only Jacob knew how much soul force and mana he had exhausted to his full power; otherwise, he would’ve never been able to take care of so many legendary kings so quickly.

Furthermore, he was curious about why those three legendary kings were together. Although Constant Baron-101 had led them here, hoping to use them to trap Constant Baron-0, Jacob wanted to know why they fell for it.

The three Legendary Kings no longer dared to put up any airs because they had also made a rich guess about Jacob’s power level, which sent chills down their spines.

"We have no intention of offending you, nor do we want any conflicts. Today’s matter seemed to be a huge misunderstanding caused by the Serpent King. We were told that something related to our interests would appear in this place, and there was more than enough proof of its existence.

"However, now that we think about it, this might be someone’s scheme to have us offend someone of your status to obstruct our organization from achieving our goals. Our organization also represents the Myth of White Swordsman!" The Legendary King also mentioned the name of their backer.

"Myth of White Swordsman?"

Jacob had no idea what they were talking about, but at this moment, Constant Baron-0 suddenly exclaimed, "Your organization has a Quasi-Myth among you!"

The other legendary kings seemed relieved by Constant Baron-0’s reaction, and one quickly nodded, "Indeed, we won’t dare use a Myth’s name so easily."

Jacob was astounded, "What are you talking about?" he sent her a soul transmission.

Constant Baron-0 took a deep breath before she replied to Jacob, "You might not know this since only top organizations have this knowledge, but every Quasi-Myth Rank expert has the title of ’Myth’ instead of ’king’.

"Furthermore, this ’White Swordsman’ should be the White Swordsman King around 8 thousand years ago, and he was an Elf King, and considered the strongest elf king among the Light Elves.

"He was even invited to join the Alliance as their vice chairman, but he refused to join any power. But he suddenly vanished. However, I had never imagined he would become a Myth and even join an organization!

"They are probably using his name to make you reconsider your options. After all, no one would like to have a Quasi-Myth as their enemy!"

’Now, this is unexpected...’ Jacob was surprised as he looked at those three legendary kings.

Although he knew he wasn’t the only Quasi-Myth present in this Legendary Plains, he knew those Quasi-Myths were elusive existences and stayed away from worldly affairs.

The most accurate beliefs were that Quasi-Myths were trying to figure out a way to ascend to the higher plains. But now, this organization has one among them.

Curious, Jacob questioned coldly, "What is your organization, and what are you after?"
