I knew that Sloan hadn’t been joking when he said that and that made me shiver as a lick of fright went down my spine. He grabbed my hand and began to drag me down the hallway in his father’s wing. A few maids who were walking past, instantly gasped with fear as soon as they noticed Slpsn, but Sloan was unfazed as usual as he kept stalking forward. He didn’t stop walking for a moment till we arrived before a particular spot where about thirty guards were gathered together.

They were all laughing and drinking, but as soon as we were spotted, they all grew frozen from fear. Some of them even fell on their ass from fright.

"Stand up, everyone!" Sloan thundered and they all scrambled to do as told. I instantly recognized some of the guards that grabbed me this afternoon when I had been heading over to Sloan’s.

"We left him alone as soon as you showed us the crest, my prince." One of the guards cried out as he fell on his knees, his hands clasped before his chest. The rest of the guards all fell to their knees as well as they all repeated the same thing.

Sloan didn’t react, he just scoffed before pointing at them all,

"Who’d the one that carried him to the king after he showed you all the crest I gave him?" He thundered and they all shook from fear before slowly, they all pointed out the one that was guilty. I recognized him immediately when he carried me over his shoulders like I committed some sort of crime, despite me screaming and begging.

When he reluctantly got to his feet, he had a weary look on his face as he looked around for a moment.

"Bunch of pussies, you really sold me out, huh?" The guard snapped at the rest of the guards who were still kneeling.

"We asked you to leave him, didn’t we? But you called us pussies and carried him the rest of the way by yourself. You should carry your cross yourself." One of the guards still kneeling snapped out, and the guard standing let out a sigh before turning to face Sloan and I.

Sloan glanced down at me in the next moment. "Is he the one?"

I nodded slowly. "Yes, it’s him."

Sloan nodded once, his hand squeezing around my fingers in a way that made my chest to flutter. I had even forgotten that we were holding hands till this very moment. As soon as he dropped my hand, he began to close the distance between himself and the guard.

The guard’s eyes widened, instantly filling up with panic as he held his hands up while starting to back away.

"W- wait, my prince.., I can explain."

Sloan just let out a grating laugh that made everyone present shiver.

"You know what a royal family giving anyone their crest means. It means they’re under the person’s protection. You knew that, yet you still dared to touch him? You dared to lay a hand on him?" Sloan demanded in a chilling voice and I shuddered, swallowing emptily as I watched the guard grow paper and pale as the second went by.

"I’m so sorry your highness, it won’t ever happen again, I swear!" He cried out but Sloan didn’t even seem to be listening anymore.

"I only did what your father asked!" The guard screamed desperately as his back met the wall. His eyes were so wide and filled with fear, and I almost felt guilty as I watched the scene unfolding before me right now, feeling unable to look away despite knowing what’s about to happen. _{fr\eewe.bn(o)v\el.c(o)m}

When the prince grabbed the guard’s throat and lifted him clear off the ground, the guard screamed before starting to cough and heave as the prince began to choke him. He tried struggling hard, trying to kick at the prince, but the prince only chuckled before flinging him into the wall by his right.

I recoiled hard as his back meeting the wall made a very sickening sound that had me flinching as my eyes widened even more. The rest of the guards still kneeling all reclined as well, their mouths falling open.

When the prince stalked forward, he crouched before the body and delivered a final blow that had the guard twitching and gasping one last time before he went limp.

My eyes widened and I almost lost my footing if it wasn’t for the walk behind me right now. My heart was racing so fast and I was in a state of shock. I couldn’t believe that the Prince just killed someone, just because of me.

I still found it hard to believe even though I was staring at the dead body on the ground right now, when I glanced up, my eyes instantly locked with the Prince’s intense ones. They were still golden and I swallowed emptily as I watched him turned to face the rest of the guards.

"Those that laid a finger on him, step out right now before I have to pull you out myself." The Prince said to the rest of the guards,

My eyes instantly widened, my heart flying into my throat.

Oh god. He wants to kill the rest of them too?

My mouth hung open as I watched the guards all struggle before they all began to out themselves, till those who grabbed me roughly began to step out. I recognized tonal from this afternoon and I remember hating them all so much in that moment, and I still do, but I didn’t think that was enough for them to get killed, especially seeing as they let go of me after I showed them the crest.

"I’m very certain you were all aware that this human was mine before you were all sent to grab him, and yet you listened? You have a death wish, huh?"

The guards all shook their heads test, looking like they might piss their pants.

"Since I’m in such a forgiving mood, I won’t kill the rest of you, but I’ll give you a warning. Spread the news around: no one is to ever lay a finger on my human, except they’re ready to die. Because the human... belongs to me."
