Cunning General Si Ning
Chapter 279: Going All Out

Chapter 279: Going All Out

An all out war.

Xiu Zhicheng knew it was unavoidable and now the imperial army of Xiu was facing the Imperial army of Xilie and just right at the front meant for the leader were Xiu Zhicheng and Xiu TianZhao with the Imperial army behind them and facing them was Qiu Bai with his army behind him.

Thousands of soldiers faced each other each knowing they now had to face each other in a great battle and the overall outcome of this battle was going to determine the fate of the two great Nations Xiu and Xilie. Each of the Generals of Xiu with their army had already faced or were currently facing Generals of Xilie and their armies in different parts of the continent but the grand final was going to happen once and for all between Xiu Zhicheng and Qiu Bai.

It should be a war that drags on for years or at least a year that both Nations would have no choice but to involve their allies when their numbers get cut to the extent that they would need help but due to the haste that didn’t give the army breathing space, the war was finally going to end in a matter of three months. It was something that had never happened in history, two great Nations colliding and ending the main war in three months but it was now going to happen and go down into history.

A large space was left in the middle just to give each opposing army space and it was Lin Fan that rode out to meet one of the men Qiu Bai sent just to make inquiries if the Emperors would like to fight a one on one battle till death and the winner would be the last Emperor standing, it was a gamble Xiu Zhicheng was willing to take, he was going to fight and make sure he gets rid of Qiu Bai and if that was impossible at least he would drag Qiu Bai down with him and this might end the war but he had no intention of dying in the war, he had a lot to live for, he had a lot of places to go with Si Ning and he still had to have at least have a father and son moment with his sons.

If Qiu Bai dies the war was going to end, he had no Empress nor a brother that would take over, all he had was a sister but if Xiu Zhicheng dies then he still had his brother and his Empress who might not sit still and that was going to drag the war on so the solution to the war was for Qiu Bai to lay to rest.

"Imperial brother at least you’re happy that Xiao Ningzi received your command and is now on his way to Xiu." Xiu TianZhao that was right next to Xiu Zhicheng said as he took a deep breath, his gaze focused on the far distance watching Lin Fan meet the other man from Xilie right in the middle of the large space.

It was only Xiu Zhicheng that was supposed to stand at the front looking powerful on his horse but Xiu TianZhao that appeared at the Imperial camp that declared that he came to suppport Xiu Zhicheng stubbornly joined him, Xiu Zhicheng didnt complaim because it was at least nice to be standing next to his brother, it showed their good relationship and also showed that he was an Emperor not ruling alone and Xiu TianZhao was also a skilled fighter, he was even stronger than most Generals of Xiu and he would have been stronger than Si Ning if he didn’t take pleasure and fun at face value yet it was odd that he appeared at the camp with few men and since then he seemed to be unrest like he was disturbed, Xiu Zhicheng didnt have a doubt in his brother nor did he have someone follow him once to know what he always does at the different houses of pleasure he used to visit in the capital so for the blood running through their veins he would never doubt Xiu TianZhao because if Xiu TianZhao ever had an ulterior motive then the hidden guards would have found out and Lin Fan would have informed him.

When Xiu TianZhao appeared, Xiu Zhicheng was able to detect that Lin Fan was a bit relieved that he came and that made Xiu Zhicheng unable to make inquiries about his younger brother’s sudden appearance.

"I dare not command Si Ning or give him an order, if I was with him I would have cajoled and begged him to go back to Xiu." Xiu Zhicheng replied but it was true he was

relieved that Si Ning was finally going home.

Knowing his Empress was out there didn’t make Xiu Zhicheng at peace, he knew Si Ning was strong and ranked the best Archer in the whole of Xiu, he could take care of himself and even be a great help in the war but Xiu Zhicheng selfishly wants to hide him away and declare to the world that Si Ning was his alone and do not even have to serve the Nation, the only person Si Ning had to serve was him as his husband and this twisted mind of his recognised his Empress as someone he needed to protect.

"I wish one day I can also meet a pretty woman I will love with my whole heart and she will also love me with her whole heart." Xiu Zhicheng commented absentminded.

"You think Si Ning loves me with his whole heart?" Xiu Zhicheng asked. Si Ning and Xiu TianZhao were best friends so they should share each other secrets and Xiu TianZhao was the best person that would know Si Ning’s true feelings.

Xiu TianZhao smirked. "You should have seen him when he was going to war after your breakup, his face, his eyes, it was so sad but to tell you the truth brother, you were in much worst condition then, always angry and blowing up at the court meeting." He paused. "You break Xiao Ningzi’s trust but he still married you even though he doesn’t have to, if that isn’t loving you with his whole heart then what is it?"

Xiu Zhicheng smiled, his eyes gentle as his gaze fell on his ring, he never saw exchanging rings as a token of love but seeing how Si Ning was happy and wore the ring every day, their rings matching made him happy too and he wanted to flaunt the ring to the world, Si Ning makes everything better for him and for that as the Emperor he was going to protect him.

Lin Fan had turned just like the other soldier Qiu Bai sent forward and Lin Fan started racing at top speed with his horse, before he could even cover much distance Qiu Bai drew an arrow and started shooting at Lin Fan.

"What?" Xiu Zhicheng found Qiu Bai’s dirty trick unbelievable.

"Imperial brother." Xiu TianZhao extended his hand to the side just to prevent Xiu Zhicheng from kicking his horse into motion because that would make the whole army also kick start and disrupt the war.

Shooting at Lin Fan was a declaration of war but Xiu Zhicheng had to be calm so he watched as how Lin Fan’s horse was pierced in the leg, Lin Fan jumped down leaving the horse and started racing in a zig-zag motion towards the Xiu Imperial army. Unexpectedly it was Qiu Bai’s army that kicked start first racing towards the Xiu army because Lin Fan was almost out of the arrow shooting range and now a man that was moving forward target was Lin Fan, he took over from Qiu Bai and started shooting his arrows at Lin Fan.

What an amazing plan, Lin Fan running prevented Xiu’s Imperial army’s archers to pull their bows and shoot at Xilie which was quite a nice strategy, Xiu Zhicheng could never command the archers to shoot because the arrow might pierce Lin Fan.

Xiu Zhicheng knew if he doesn’t act fast Lin Fan could be hit because he was running on foot while his attacker was riding a horse.

"Victory is ours! Archers forward!"

"Ahhh!!!!" The whole army roared as they pulled out their swords.

Without another moment to lose Xiu Zhicheng kicked his horse into motion and started racing, his archers would have to shoot while riding their horses, as long as they get to Lin Fan before the enemy’s arrow then Lin Fan could be saved.
