It was so surprising when Si Ning and his men got to Shang Jin’s home, no one could have believed that they only had to climb up a bit and one of Shang Jin’s men had to roll over a stone that was flattened to the rock no one would think it was moveable and after moving it, it revealed a narrow cave, it was quite suspicious to Si Ning that Shang Jin wanted them to rest at his home and he even showed them a secret passage but because of Shang Jin’s naivety and Si Ning knew what he was capable of and the trust he had in Shang Jin in the modern day world made him followed with his men and after a while, they found themselves in a large settlement on top of the mountain, there were large houses build with rocks, rocks stacking on top of each other but the roof was made with woods, the houses were round in shape and there were women and children, old people up there that stopped what they were doing to stare at the intruders with a bewildered expression.

"I have to go and talk to the chief wait here." Shang Jin told Si Ning before heading inside the largest round building built with rocks.

It would be weird for them to just stand there doing nothing so for the time being the Doctors in Si Ning’s troop were going to treat the wounded so Si Ning watch as his wounded men were laid down on what seemed like leaves made into a mat, the men they were fighting earlier too helped in carrying in the wounded and from what Si Ning saw they had reduced in number even without counting he knows. The men living in the settlement talked in low voices and that was when Si Ning noticed they do not speak the same language, Shang Jin spoke their dialect to them and Si Ning would have loved to ponder on that but he had plans to make, he planned for them to reach the other side of the mountain in twelve hours, half a day Jiang ChenMu told him but it was just a few hours and they were not on the move anymore so they were losing time which was making Si Ning feel uncomfortable but he was aware that his men needed treatment.

"How many casualties?" Si Ning asked after a while when all of them were now on the same plane which means his men were now around him, he turned to Xiao Pei, he noticed there were also a lot of wounded men among the men that fought them earlier and he couldn’t help but notice a man sitting a bit far from them, wearing an angry expression watching him and Si Ning could tell he wasn’t trusted and they shouldn’t stay long.

"We have forty-seven men that didn’t suffer many injuries, forty-two suffered heavily and they can’t continue the journey and five of them seemed like they won’t make it so we lost....."

Si Ning raised his forefinger, he could see Song Feng, Yi Chen, and Jiang ChenMu looking well so he calculated that they lost eleven men and he doesn’t want to hear Xiao Pei say the number out loud. He saw one of his men start to choke as blood flowed out of his mouth, some Doctors rushed to him but just within that second they lifted him, he said something, and his gaze was directed at Si Ning with a small smile playing on his bloodied lips before he gave up and this made Si Ning shut his eyes, his hands were starting to shake as he opened his eyes to see one of the Doctors approached him.

"General, Lan says it is an honour to serve in General’s army and that General should live well." He said relaying the man that died a few seconds ago message.

"General let me treat...."

"Your Majesty, let me treat your hand." Song Feng approached Si Ning and interrupted them making the other man that first approached Si Ning look a bit confused then bowed and left to attend to the others.

Si Ning narrowed his eyes at Song Feng who kept calling him by name when they were fighting earlier but now was calling him by his official title. His stomach was knotted because he never thought he would see many men wounded and one of his men that just died even had a smile on his face when Si Ning doesn’t even know his name and was just told his name. "I will do it myself." He told Song. He grabbed the cloth Song Feng was holding ready to leave but Song Feng grabbed his hand, the hand that was shaking, the hand he was trying to hide from Song Feng.

"Come with me." Song Feng said and lead Si Ning to a rock that was positioned for sitting, he sat Si Ning down making sure Si Ning’s back was turned to the rest so nobody would see Si Ning’s hand, and just like they understood, none of Si Ning men tried to approach them not even Xiao Pei.

When Song Feng began his treatment, none of them said a word as Si Ning watched Song Feng clean his wound and wrapped a bandage around the wound, he wrapped it this time for Si Ning’s hands to be movable and not fixed, he made sure to wrap the forefinger and middle finger which Si Ning do use to shoot arrows with thick bandage then he went ahead to change the dressing on Si Ning’s arm even though the cut was already healed.

"Thank you." Si Ning muttered when Song Feng was done.

Song Feng raised his head like he just heard the kindest word then he raised Si Ning’s hand and placed a chaste kiss on it. "I will change the dressing once a day and also Your Majesty we have to go back home when you kill that man called Ge Liang, I have to tend to your wounds and hands properly." He said still holding Si Ning’s hands.

Si Ning nodded, he wasn’t going to leave if he doesn’t kill Qiu Bai too but he wasn’t about to tell Song Feng so he turned his head away forcing Song Feng to let his hands go and move towards the direction of his wounded men so he could help the others Doctors. Si Ning sat there flexing his hands, he doesn’t feel any pain he didn’t even notice he was badly wounded and his hands would take a while to heal, he was a man that was always interested in making sure he was perfect, he loved his hands, how it looked, bony long fingers with nice fingernails but now he had gotten to a point he doesn’t care about appearance anymore and the man that caused that was Qiu Bai so as long as the Emperor of Xilie was still breathing then Si Ning would never have a peace of mind.

"The Chief will see you now my friend." Shang Jin that appeared said with a smile on his face.

Si Ning doesn’t know how long he sat but when he stood up he could feel his knee stiffen but noting a small movement couldn’t do so he turned in the direction of the largest rock house when Shang Jin blocked his view to give him a brief hug.

Si Ning smiled when Shang Jin released him and he finally turned his attention to the largest rock house hoping to see an old man, an old woman, a man older to be his father or a woman old enough to be his mother or someone at least older than him but he found himself facing a boy, a tall girl, and a very tall boy.

Teenagers?

Si Ning had no idea who the chief could be between them but he knows one of them had to be because they had four old men and an old woman standing behind them, four tall heavily armed men standing also behind them.

To be cracking his brain trying to figure out who the chief was something Si Ning doesn’t want to think so he walked with Shang Jin with a few of his men and he bowed slightly with his men but the people in front of him didn’t return his greeting.
