Chapter 457 – Twins Causing Troubles (Twins POV)

Yui arrived with Wanshu on top of a small mountain.

"You think we lost them?" Yuxi panted slightly.

"I think so..." Neither of them could feel their enemies any more.

"Do you think that Aiko will like these?" Yuxi was holding two large eggs.

"I think so. We are all foodies." Wanshu thought that Aiko would like it.

"Hm?" Yuxi tilted her head.

"What is it?" Wanshu also tilted her head.

"I heard a voice." Yuxi narrowed her eyes.

"I didn't-" Wanshu paused. "I did."

"You too?" Yuxi blinked.

"Yes, it sounds the same when you hear voices inside your mind that drive you mad." Wanshu blinked slowly.

"Should we?" Yuxi blinked at her back.

"Let's go!" Wanshu chuckled as they stored those eggs into their Storage Rings.

...

A few miles down the mountain, they came across a battle.

There were Humans fighting against Foxes, or rather Foxes running away from Humans while giggling.

"You think you will be able to stay alive after doing this to us?!" One Human Cultivator roared.

"Whatcha gonna do about it, huh? You don't have a Defensive Array any more~!" The Demonic Foxes giggled happily as they ran away into the Forest.

"Should we collect the Treasures?" Wanshu narrowed her eyes.

"No. They are too strong..." Yuxi was more interested in the Foxes.

"Am I not enough for you~?" Wanshu teased Yuxi.

Yuxi choked. "That's not what I was thinking about!"

"Uhuh, you were checking their asses, I could see it!" Wanshu pouted at Yuxi.

"You were?"

"You were were?"

The duo suddenly stiffened when they heard voices behind them.

"I will take this one."

"And I take this one."

The two Demonic Foxes grabbed the pair and disappeared from the spot.

Yuxi And Wanshu were immediately on guard when they reappeared.

There were many Foxes behind them, but what was more troublesome-

'Nine tails.' Yuxi groaned unhappily. She was worried that she wouldn't make it out of there alive.

"They are cute."

"They look like twins."

"But they aren't twins."

"How curious."

"You know what?"

"What?"

"What? What?"

"Aiko."

"Aiko..."

"Definitely Aiko."

Their leader coughed awkwardly since they were too enthusiastic about stumbling upon the Foxes that Aiko described to them.

"Are you Yuxi and Wanshu?" The Demonic Fox Leader asked.

"Ummmmm..." Both Yuxi and Wanshu were overwhelmed by their aggressive yet amusing approach.

"You don't have to worry. We won't harm you. Aiko told us to look out for you if we ever encounter you." The Demonic Fox Leader giggled. She was responsible for this covert force that was tasked with disabling the Defensive Arrays.

"Aiko, you know her?" Yuxi narrowed her eyes.

"Small, cute and very abnormal." The Demonic Fox Leader giggled happily. All thanks to Aiko they were progressing without any losses.

"That sounds like Aiko." Wanshu nodded.

"But what are the chances that she can attract someone powerful?" Yuxi retorted.

"Inscriptions?" Wanshu raised her eyebrow.

"They are much older and stronger. Do you think that Aiko is better than them when it comes to Inscriptions?" Yuxi narrowed her eyes.

"Runes." Wanshu immediately changed the approach since she felt quite at home with the other Foxes.

"They are Demonic Foxes!" One Demonic Fox from the Sacred Realm realised that.

"Time for hugs!"

"Let's go~!"

"Huggies~!"

Yuxi and Wanshu were immediately swarmed by the Demonic Foxes without being able to protest.

Well, since they were unlikely to hurt them now, they could only receive their hugs and snuggles.

"It must've been hard on you, hearing those voices. We have our own Palace if you ever need a rest. Aiko will also return soon from her adventure." The Demonic Fox Leader giggled.

"Aiko is on an adventure?" The Twins sharpened their ears.

"We should hurry." Wanshu suddenly said.

"We definitely should hurry and collect more things. It would be bad if Aiko destroyed another Realm." Yuxi agreed with Wanshu.

"Ummmmm..." The Demonic Fox Leader didn't know how to reply to that. "There is an inheritance site if you would like to raid it...?" She tried to make a suggestion.

The Twins paused, but since they couldn't feel any kind of animosity, they nodded.

"Please." Yuxi gently bowed.

"There is no need for formalities. We all like Aiko."

"Let's be friends!"

The Demonic Foxes once again swarmed them.

...

"Is this the place?" Yuxi and Wanshu stood in front of a half-buried temple.

It was obviously not the type of temple they expected. It looked more like an old Middle Eastern cathedral.

It had one large tower in front, followed by a big, well-decorated roof.

During its prime, it would've been a beautiful grand cathedral, but now it was mostly in ruins.

"Yeah. The Demonic Saintess said it's something beneficial for Shadow-based Foxes." The Demonic Fox Leader nodded slowly.

"Let's go, we need more Treasures for Aiko!" Wanshu immediately dragged Yuxi inside.

"Thank you~!" These were Yuxi's last words before they disappeared inside.

"We like them."

"We indeed do."

"We need to keep them."

All the Demonic Foxes nodded enthusiastically. They liked anything that had the Aiko imprint.

"We will guard the outside discreetly so that they are not disturbed!" The Demonic Fox Leader shouted.

"There was space distortion some time ago..." One Demonic Fox suddenly said.

The Demonic Fox Leader paused. "I hope it's nothing bad..." She groaned unhappily since it would be bad for them if they were harmed...

Yuxi and Wanshu walked inside.

It was vastly different to how the outside looked. There were many chandeliers and candles. The place felt holy instead of unholy, but for some reason, they were not repulsed by this place.

'What do you think we will find?' Yuxi asked Wanshu through telepathy.

'I'm not sure. Maybe something religious or light-related?' Wanshu was confused about how she was able to like this place when the overall atmosphere felt so holy.

'The supporting pillars are quite nice. You think we can take them?' Yuxi narrowed her eyes.

'Aiko would definitely like them.' Wanshu nodded in agreement.

'But how do we take them without this place collapsing...?' Yuxi groaned unhappily. She wanted to gather more things for Aiko so that they could request special toys for their use.

'Difficult, maybe we take them on the way out?' Wanshu licked her lips.

'You think it will fit into our Storage Rings...?' Yuxi narrowed her eyes again.

'...' Wanshu was at a loss for words. It was true that their Storage Rings were already packed with Herbs and other yummy things. They didn't expect that they would fill them up so quickly, otherwise they would have asked Mei or Aiko for more Storage Rings.

'How about storing things that don't rot into our Storage Pouches and then using a Storage Ring on it?' Wanshu suggested.

'Not a bad idea, but we don't have that many things that do not rot.' Yuxi sighed.

'Exploration?' Wanshu suddenly asked.

'Exploration!' Yuxi agreed, and they both gave up thinking about it. Who knows, maybe they will be able to find an additional Storage Ring that they could use!

Walking deeper inside, they encountered a strange yet angry group.

"I only obtained the Sun Wheel..." An Elf girl whined.

"Tsk." A Dragoness clicked her tongue. She would only get the fire book, but before she could secure it, it turned brightly, turning into ash.

"Now, now." A certain Human looked quite upset since the rewards were very underwhelming.

Yuxi and Wanshu exchanged glances, and they sneaked past them. Their stealth was much better than before, so it was no issue.

Moreover, the Dragoness was so upset that she didn't pay any attention to her surroundings, making this exceptionally easy.

...

Sneaking deeper inside. The place was filled with some kind of strange Qi.

'It feels nice?' Yuxi raised her eyebrow, but her partner pretty much had an airgasm.

'Wanshu...?' Yuxi was concerned about how easy it was to please her partner.

'Y-yesh? It feels sho gooh~' Wanshu was pretty much drawing an abnormal amount of Qi into her body.

Yuxi shook Wanshu harshly. She did like this place, but this was abnormal.

'W-what?' Wanshu was startled that her partner acted like that.

'Don't you find it odd that you are like this?' Yuxi was completely speechless.

'Ummm... the voices already told me about this place, and Aiko will like it too.' Wanshu looked away from Yuxi.

'What are you talking about...?' Yuxi was slightly speechless.

'We are currently in a temple made out of Stagnant Qi.' Wanshu slowly explained to her partner. 'Us, Demonic Beings, have the duty to purify these places with a special cultivation method. In turn, thanks to maintaining the world, we are rewarded!'

'...' Yuxi felt suspicious about this, but she went along for the time being. 'Fine, but if I see any abnormality, I will drag you outside!' There would be no compromises if it endangered their life!

'Sure!' Wanshu agreed readily.

They walked and walked until they arrived at the main chambers.

'Strange Monsters?' Yuxi narrowed her eyes.

'They are Voidlings, born from stagnant Qi. They will avoid us, so we will be alright.' Wanshu licked her lips.

'How do you know they will avoid us?' Yuxi raised her eyebrow.

'Because we consume Stagnant Qi, which they are made out of.' Wanshu shrugged.

'So you don't know.' Yuxi nodded.

'Hey! I will smack your ass later!' Wanshu pouted.

'You? The last time you wanted to do that was when you went on me like a hungry puppy!' Yuxi snorted back.

'So what, you don't like me?!' Wanshu cried out.

'Of course, I love it!' Yuxi clicked her tongue.

'You-!' Wanshu sulked even more and openly strode into the room.

'Hey! Stupid puppy! Come back!' Yuxi yelled at her telepathically.

'No!' Wanshu walked between the monsters, but as she said, those monsters with questionable bodies just recoiled.

'I got some Treasures! Let's go outside~' Wanshu collected what was on the Altar and walked back to her completely speechless partner.

'You can't make me worry like that!' Yuxi sulked.

'I told you it would be fine~' Wanshu hugged her partner and tenderly kissed her. She shamelessly groped her butt as if trying to soothe her.

'Hmpf.' Yuxi sulked even more but kissed back.

They were getting more into it when...

"I told you this place is awful, but I can feel strange energy inside.

Both Yuxi's and Wanshu's faces were distorted. They didn't think they would be interrupted!

They shrouded their bodies and silently made it out of the grand cathedral.

They could hear a grand battle behind them, but it didn't last long...

"FUCK! IT'S EMPTY!" Suddenly, an angry roar of a certain Dragoness made them laugh loudly.

That is what you would call: Karma is a bitch.
