Chapter 450 – Story behind the Demonic Saintess – part 2

The Demonic Foxes launched a counterattack while the Humans were celebrating.

They were able to capture many Relics that the Humans plundered but were quickly driven away by the Table Maps functions.

This caused more losses on both sides, especially on the Beasts' side.

However, thanks to this, the Human Cultivators were unable to continue expanding in the Sacred Realm.

A perfect stalemate was created.

Everyone was holding their line for hundreds and hundreds of years.

"So you are trying to kill your pursuers and those that enslave while they are trying to monopolise this place." Aiko slowly nodded.

"That is until you came along." The Demonic Saintess nodded. "Thanks to you, the tables have turned, and we can get rid of them, making this place a lot more peaceful."

"I haven't done anything yet." Aiko didn't think it was that easy to take this back.

"How were you able to deal with the voices?" Aiko suddenly asked her a question.

"Sacred Mystic Palace Scripture. I found it when I was young in a Secret Realm." The Demonic Saintess said proudly.

"How does it compare to Soul Domain?" Aiko wondered if those things were different.

The Demonic Saintess giggled. "Soul Domain, it's a very simple name, so it must be from 'that' person, in which case your Soul should be safe from anything unless you meet someone vastly more powerful."

"Hmmmm... can I learn the Sacred Mystic Palace Scripture?" Aiko narrowed her eyes as her ears snipped again. Her want in her eyes could not be concealed.

"How about staying here with us~?" The Demonic Saintess shifted Aiko's body onto her lap, letting her get close to her body.

"I don't want to stay here." As Aiko said that, that enthusiastic Demonic Saintess frowned. "So I will just take you with me~" She also liked this Fox, but there was some strange feeling of familiarity.

"You think that is possibl-" The Demonic Saintess swallowed her words when Aiko gestured towards her tails.

"No way that will w- What are you doing?!" The Demonic Saintess doubted her, but she quickly changed her tune when Aiko tried to shove her into her tails.

"Get in there~!" Aiko laughed mischievously as she stuffed the Demonic Saintess inside.

"Mistress..." Yu was concerned that Aiko might be overdoing it.

"What? You want her to come with us too, don't lie." Aiko narrowed her eyes.

Yu coughed awkwardly. "D-definitely not!"

Aiko sniffed Yu. "Do I smell the Demonic Saintess on you~?"

Yu was completely red in the face, and her face was scrunching. Aiko's piercing eyes were too much for her.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I got quite the naughty servant." Aiko teased Yu for a bit. It was not a good idea to overdo things, so Aiko let her off the hook for the time being.

Aiko deposited the Demonic Saintess back.

The Demonic Saintess was blankly staring around. "It... really worked...?" She couldn't believe that Aiko could even store foreign beings inside.

"That's not what you are supposed to be asking..." Aiko narrowed her eyes as she tapped her foot.

"What should I be asking?" The Demonic Saintess felt something was wrong, and from the corner of her eye, she could see Yu's apologetic expression.

"Since when did you try to poach my group~?" Aiko smiled, not so nicely.

The Demonic Saintess coughed awkwardly. "My feelings were sincere..."

"Hmmmmm..." Aiko let her go since the Demonic Saintess felt sincere about this, but if she found out that she lied...

Let's just say that Aiko would have a new test subject for her future inventions~.

"So... Can I learn them?" Aiko narrowed her eyes.

"How many Demonic Foxes can you store?" The Demonic Saintess was still not entirely convinced.

"All of them." Aiko snorted unhappily. It's been a long time since someone questioned her Abilities.

The Demonic Saintess frowned, but Yu came to the rescue.

"You should believe, Mistress." Yu smiled gently, but it was obvious that she was also an Aiko fanatic.

"Can we get all the girls inside...?" The Demonic Saintess paused. If they were able to get out of here, they would be able to progress on their path to Immortality!

"And Treasures. We can't forget those!" Aiko proclaimed as her tails swished around happily.

Yu giggled while the Demonic Saintess was speechless. "I pity your partner..." She sighed gently.

"There is nothing to pity. I will cherish all of them~!" Aiko said happily.

The Demonic Saintess rolled her eyes since this was something that her previous partner always said.

"We will engage in this war, and then you will try to stash away all my Foxes. If you can do that, I will impart all of my knowledge to you." The Demonic Saintess would believe in Aiko in this matter. When she thought about it, it's been a while since she believed someone who wasn't part of her team...

"That is fine by me, but be prepared to have your secrets exposed~" Aiko's hands moved in a lewd manner, making the Demonic Saintess cover her body.

"But I would like to hear more about the story or how this place works..." Aiko narrowed her eyes.

"Sure..." The Demonic Saintess giggled.

Back 50 years after they entered the Sacred Realm, there was a need for Pills, Treasures and other things. However, her group of Foxes were ordinary at best...

That's when the Demonic Saintess decided to use the piece of Black Inheritance Stone that got stuck in her tail.

With that, she was able to convert her group into Demonic Foxes, but since that Black Inheritance Stone was too weak, they didn't suffer from the voices.

A new 'breed' of Foxes was born, making it easier for them to learn many things and to adapt to this place.

They slowly created the most secure place in the whole Sacred Realm. Their own little palace.

It was expanded over time as some Foxes wanted laboratories and research facilities, but that was fine by everyone.

Everyone understood the importance of knowledge, so they gathered a lot of it in the Secret Library.

That was hidden deep inside this palace and only could be accessed by the Demonic Saintess.

"We are taking that with us." Aiko suddenly interrupted the Demonic Saintess with her grubby little hands.

The Demonic Saintess rolled her eyes but didn't reject her proposal.

The Demonic Foxes tried to research Runes, but it was difficult to decipher them. At best, they were only able to attach effects to each Rune and how to use them.

This still allowed them to service their Treasures and even make new and more powerful Treasures.

"Although they can only be used in this Sacred Realm." The Demonic Saintess sighed.

"Then how come you can bring those Treasures outside and use them?" Aiko was confused.

"That's because you are talking about Treasures, which were born outside and brought in here." The Demonic Saintess giggled.

"Ah, because this place is man-made!" Aiko realised her mistake.

"Yes, so most of our Treasures can't be taken outside." The Demonic Saintess patted the crestfallen Aiko.

"I really wanted to get more Treasures..." Aiko sniffled.

"Human cities have a lot of original Treasures, so we can get them for you once we get rid of them." The Demonic Saintess soothed her softly.

"Good." Aiko's eyes shone in brilliant yet greedy light.

"Seriously..." The Demonic Saintess giggled. Usually, she would be quite depressed after telling her story, but this little Foxy would allow her to feel so alive and free that she didn't mind it at all.

Beast Pills, Treasures and special Inscriptions. The Foxes created all of those in order to survive against the Humans.

However, even that was not enough. The Humans came with sleeping powders and other sinister things, giving them an edge over everyone.

That was until the Demonic Saintess created the Fox-fire Vessel.

"Fox-fire Vessel?" Aiko tilted her head.

"It's a special device that allows you to squeeze Souls over time for their Soul Essence." The Demonic Saintess licked her lips. They were unable to get more Souls inside for the time being, but that would soon change~!

"Ohhhh!" Aiko felt like this was something that she would need in the near future. "Wait! Is that why everyone has 9 tails?!" Her eyes suddenly widened at this realisation.

"En." The Demonic Saintess didn't mind going with this little cutie to the outside world.

The Foxes were able to gather the Souls of defeated Human Cultivators.

This, in turn, allowed them to squeeze their Souls for all their worth, giving them the opportunity to increase their tails and grow in strength.

"Even some Beasts were interested in this, so we shared some with everyone, making them blindly loyal to our cause." The Demonic Saintess giggled. From that point on, her own losses greatly decreased thanks to the fervent attitude of the other Beasts.

"But what will happen once the Humans are wiped out...?" Aiko's eyes narrowed.

The Demonic Saintess suddenly stiffened. "I made a mistake..." She clicked her tongue.

"They would definitely go after us since we are a lot weaker, and while this Fortress is good... we still need food and other necessities." The Demonic Saintess narrowed her eyes.

"You will have to stash us sooner. You need to be protected by the rules of the Cultivators from the Upper Realm." The Demonic Saintess decided to trust Aiko with this since she was also the one who saved her from an unfortunate fate.

"Sure." Aiko didn't mind. She was happy that the Demonic Saintess finally acknowledged her storage.

"Phew..." The Demonic Saintess wiped her sweat. "I almost made a mistake again. I have to pay more attention." The times of peace greatly dulled her senses. This was dangerous since it might've caused unnecessary casualties on their end.

She happily petted Aiko, and she kept going with her story for a bit.

Aiko was blissfully sleeping on the Demonic Saintess's lap.

"She is quite cute like this." The Demonic Saintess giggled.

"Welcome to Aiko's Worship Club." Yu smiled happily.

"I'm not that hopeless yet." The Demonic Saintess pouted at her.

"It's only a matter of time." Yu gave her a knowing smile. Everyone will eventually succumb to Aiko's charm...

"I don't believe it." The Demonic Saintess puffed her cheeks.

"Come on." Yu sighed at her. "You are much older than I am, so you should act like it." She believed that the Demonic Saintess should be more mature.

"No way! I always have to be serious! Let me play around!" But deep inside, she was a big child looking for outside stimuli.

Yu sighed again. "I won't play with you if you will act like this..." She kind of felt like she was scammed by her..."

"Awwww..." The Demonic Saintess sniffled, and Yu could only concede.

Yu was quite weak against cute things...
