Chapter 308: Chapter 187: Microscopic World, Jiushan Paradise_3
Yan Wushuang nodded.
"Is this just the beginning?"
Elder Han agreed:
"Of course, the Hundred Immortals Alliance declined rapidly, the Great Freedom Demon Sect didn’t have much trouble, and so far their tactics have been relatively mild."
"But the Immortal Sect and the Demon Sect won’t stay quiet forever."
"Once they start fighting, these people might end up even worse off than they are now."
"The Demon Sect will plunder them, and the Immortal Sect might do the same in desperation."
Yan Wushuang said nothing and just worked harder along the way.
With Elder Han’s protection, he was safe, but the journey was continuously turbulent.
It wasn’t until they neared the Jiushan Realm that they stopped drawing attention, to avoid causing trouble for Zheng Fa.
Reaching between two mountains, Yan Wushuang released a kite-shaped Spirit Talisman, and an archway appeared before them.
Master Pang came out from the gate, apologizing, "Zheng is currently hosting Tongming Master, so I am here to welcome you two, please come in!"
Yan Wushuang and his companion nodded. Tongming Master had achieved Divinity Transformation, naturally making him distinguished.
The two followed Master Pang forward into the Heavenly Palace.
As soon as Yan Wushuang entered, he eagerly looked around.
The Heavenly Palace Nine Islands was like a three-section courtyard.
The outermost part centered around Heavenly Palace Island, connected via the Rainbow Bridge to the Medicine Garden, and there was another island intended for future use as a workshop.
This was called the Outer Three Islands.
The middle section consisted of three islands too; Paradise Island was the largest and most central.
It connected Seeking Immortality Island and Ten Thousand Immortals Island, which were the residences for disciples and Nascent Soul cultivators respectively.
This was known as the Middle Three Islands.
The innermost three islands included two that Zheng Fa valued most.
Jingkai Island, designated as the future industrial production area.
University Island, where classrooms and laboratories were located.
Another island’s plans were not yet determined by Zheng Fa.
This was the Inner Three Islands.
The main pathway ran from Heavenly Palace Island through Paradise Island to University Island.
Master Pang and the trio followed this path.
Yan Wushuang’s eyes curiously observed everything; he had visited the Heavenly Palace before but hadn’t seen these islands, so they were novel to him.
Master Pang naturally explained as they walked.
"The Heavenly Palace Island we just passed is mainly managed by the Affairs Hall."
"We’ve arrived at Paradise Island," said Master Pang, "this island is primarily populated by mortals who followed us into the Jiushan Realm."
Yan Wushuang and Elder Han looked around.
Paradise Island was undergoing initial development.
Three hundred thousand people formed four to five hundred villages scattered across the island.
The village houses, newly built for simplicity and convenience, were uniformly small courtyards with white walls and blue tiles, neatly arranged in rows.
Faint sounds of children reciting books echoed from the village.
"This is..."
"Zheng’s idea, he’s instigating something like compulsory education... saying that children of the appropriate age must be educated. Those mortals who came along with us are enlightened and naturally welcome it."
Elder Han nodded, his face showing deep contemplation.
Yan Wushuang didn’t think much, but the hostility on his face seemed to have dissipated imperceptibly.
Leaving the village, many farmers carrying hoes were heading to the fields with their wives.
The fields were sown with a new variety of rice saplings, already showing hints of green.
After a while walking and passing another village, school seemed to have let out. Some sensible children ran to bring meals to their parents in the fields, adding quite a bit of laughter and cheer.
Yan Wushuang and Elder Han unconsciously slowed their pace.
What surprised them more were some cultivators mingling among the farmers, surrounded by them, seemingly asking questions without fear.
These cultivators weren’t exactly friendly in their demeanor but responded to every question, carefully instructing the farmers.
If a farmer had a problem and asked them for a home visit, they would ponder for a while and say they would find time in a few days.
"This..."
This scene even stunned Elder Han.
"This too is Zheng’s idea; something about an agricultural guidance facility, with contribution points involved, everyone is quite keen on it."
Seeing their continued confusion, Master Pang laughed and added, "This idea, we also don’t quite understand why—Zheng always likes to say how cultivation is not such a superficial matter..."
Elder Han and his companion remained puzzled.
"Zheng also said, we immortals owe our foundation to mortals, mortals support cultivators, thus cultivators inherently have the duty to assist mortals."
"All these unheard ideas...we couldn’t refute them."
Master Pang muttered.
Yan Wushuang glanced at Elder Han, then at the cultivator in the distance surrounded by people, unaccustomed but earnest, with various scenes from the outside world coming to mind.
He was silent for a long time.
Until they reached University Island.
On University Island, Zheng Fa stood beside the Sect Leader, Zhang, and others, receiving Tongming Master.
Tongming Master had brought quite a number of people.
Mostly Nascent Soul cultivators, but among them was one who behaved oddly, a young man with low cultivation, merely Qi Cultivation, yet standing very upfront.
This person hung his head, seemingly too shy to raise his head in front of so many dignitaries.
Yet, he couldn’t help but steal glances secretly—toward Zheng Fa.
"I heard that this disciple from Qingmu Sect has a deep connection with you..."
Tongming Master, as if suddenly remembering something, pointed at this person.
Zheng Fa,看着面前缩头缩脑的, also tinged with joy—he had been sending letters to Seventh Young Master all this while, and unexpectedly Tongming Master had brought him along.
He couldn’t help but smile, "This is an old friend of mine, I was worried about him recently."
"Don’t worry, Master Zheng, Qingmu Sect has been relocating recently, it’s normal for communications to be disrupted."
Upon hearing ’Master Zheng,’ Seventh Young Master blinked his eyes, his expression turning confused—
As if in a dream.
