Crave You Forever -
Chapter 78: Don Elmo
Chapter 78: Don Elmo
Haeun watched Yeongsoo, noticing the way his shoulders slumped, the faint shadows beneath his eyes. He looked like he was holding the weight of something heavy, something he wasn’t willing to let go of just yet.
"What happened?" Haeun asked quietly, keeping his tone gentle.
Yeongsoo took a deep breath, as if searching for the right words. "My father and I... there’s always been this distance between us. Like no matter what I do, it’s never enough," he began, his voice barely above a whisper. "He never understood me, never really wanted to. And today just brought all of that back. Remember when I said my older brothers practically raised me? It’s true, cause they were never around."
Haeun listened, feeling a pang in his chest as he watched the pain flicker in Yeongsoo’s expression. He wanted to wrap his arms around him, to take away the hurt, but he knew Yeongsoo also needed to let it out.
"I thought... I thought maybe, if I proved myself somehow, things would be different. But it’s just as cold as it’s always been," Yeongsoo continued, looking away, as if embarrassed to let Haeun see him this vulnerable.
"Yeongsoo..." Haeun whispered, reaching out to touch his arm gently. "You don’t have to prove anything to anyone, especially not to him. I don’t need you to be anything other than who you are."
Yeongsoo’s gaze softened, and he looked at Haeun, something fragile in his expression beginning to crack. "I’m sorry for being so difficult tonight. I didn’t mean to push you away."
Haeun smiled softly, slipping his hand into Yeongsoo’s. "Hey, I’m here, aren’t I? I’m not going anywhere."
For a moment, they simply looked at each other, the tension between them easing into a quiet warmth. Slowly, Yeongsoo’s lips curved into a faint, hesitant smile, his hand tightening around Haeun’s.
"Thank you," he murmured, almost shyly. "I... I don’t say it enough, but I’m so grateful to have you, Haeun and I know you don’t deserve a flawed man like me."
Haeun’s face softened, his heart swelling with affection. Without a word, he leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Yeongsoo, resting his head on his shoulder. "You don’t have to say it," he whispered. "I know and besides I think us being flawed makes the relationship more interesting as we’re still learning new things about each other. I’m your omega so you as my alpha I want you to know you can confide in me and I hope to confide in you too."
"...!"
Yeongsoo’s heart skipped a beat as he stared at Haeun. He liked him despite his flaws, despite his job, even though that he first considered their relationship to be anything at first.
"Hyung..."
Yeongsoo buried his head in Haeun’s chest feeling emotional.
"Sometimes I forget I’m the older one, you carry way too much on your shoulders. It’s okay to be a baby around me."
They stayed like that for a while, just holding each other in the gentle silence, letting the comfort of the moment wrap around them. The room felt warmer, softer, like all the weight from earlier had lifted, if only for now.
From around the corner, Suho peeked out, watching the scene with wide eyes, a little smile tugging at his lips. He didn’t want to interrupt, but a tiny giggle escaped him as he watched his two hyungs looking so cozy together.
"..."
Yeongsoo pulled back slightly, hearing the sound, his gaze shifting. "Suho?" he called out, a soft chuckle escaping him. "Are you spying on us?"
Suho’s eyes went wide, and he quickly darted back behind the wall. "N-No! I was just... making sure Haeun-hyung was okay!"
Haeun laughed, beckoning Suho over. "Come here, you little spy, it’s not good to eavesdrop on adults"
Suho hesitated, then shuffled over, a sheepish grin on his face. Haeun ruffled his hair affectionately. "Thanks for checking on me. I’m okay, don’t worry."
Yeongsoo stared at Suho silently, the investigation reports had come out, he didn’t know how to tell Haeun. He was busy too, he had to take care of those rats loitering around the company.
How did this kid get involved with Don Elmo, how annoying. If it’s because of that man the kid is like this then he wouldn’t be surprised.
"Why don’t we get some rest? We can go school searching for Haeun tomorrow...how’s that?"
"..."
"I might not be free tomorrow but I’ll send some guards to protect you, if you need my presence don’t hesitate to call, I’ll try my best to be there as soon as I can.."
Haeun nodded and didn’t say anything more, it would be best for them both if he didn’t pry too much into Yeongsoo’s job.
"Then I’ll go to bed first, goodnight Haeun-hyung, Yeongsoo-Hyung.."
"..."
"Ah..wait Suho I’ll tuck you in.."
Suho smiled at shook his head, he was almost 10 years old he had long gotten used to sleeping without being kissed goodnight. And he was grateful to be able to get a soft bed to sleep on and good food in his stomach.
He would be ungrateful if he asked for more.
"I can do it myself.."
Suho said this and quickly ran upstairs, slowly down when he heard Haeun say not to run on the stairs.
Yeongsoo sighed, he didn’t know how to tell Haeun, Suho wouldn’t be able to stay with them.
"Haeun..."
"Yes?" Haeun turned to Yeongsoo voice, a soft smile appearing on his lips.
"...!!"
Yeongsoo bit his lips and shook his head, he would find a better to tell Haeun, just not today.
"What do you want to eat tomorrow, I’ll prepare it before I head out. We also have to go for a checkup, Dr. Choi told me we can do another ultrasound sound as you’ve entered your third month.."
Haeun eyes flew up, he was really three months pregnant now? Why did he still feel the same, even his stomach hasn’t gotten bigger.
"Male omega pregnancy can be tricky but Dr. Seo said you should get a growth sprout at the fifth month.."
