Chapter 252: Revised: Volume 4, Chapter 31 Betrayal (11)
As the fire on the bedsheet was extinguished, the alarm stopped, and the sprinkler gradually lessened. The prison returned to calm. No one noticed that in the few seconds when the fire alarm sounded, two signal lights, one red and one green, on the cell door lit up simultaneously. It indicated that the automatic door had detected a circuit fault and triggered the alarm, but it was covered by the fire alarm. Fatty took this opportunity to take over the alarm circuit with the controller.
Rex and Tou’er and others watched Fatty in shock. They never knew that the Fatty in the same cell had made a hole in the corner of the wall at some unknown time. They also didn’t know what this madman, who dared to tamper with the prison’s circuit, wanted to do! They could only watch in a daze as Fatty inserted a small iron piece, which had been prepared long ago, into the lock of the cell door. Then, he rudely dismantled the sensor on the cell door.
The sensor was connected to the entire prison control system. Since the alarm circuit had been cut off, when Tou’er and the Doctor watched Fatty savagely connect a black box and a game controller to the control system’s data line, the expected alarm did not sound. On the contrary, the Doctor noticed that after a series of tense beeps from the black box, which resembled a data swapper, a green light lit up. That meant Fatty had successfully controlled a part of the system!
The bell signaling the end of the recreation period soon rang again, and a few minutes later, the cell doors slowly closed. The Doctor again noticed that the cell door of the D2 cell was not completely closed. The lock was stuck by the small iron piece inserted by Fatty, and the alarm did not sound. The Doctor glanced at the switch in the corner and seemed to understand something vaguely.
This Fatty had a plan and premeditation all along. What does he want to do?
Everything seemed so bizarre.
Watching Fatty, who was holding a game controller with an excited and lewd expression, the Doctor felt a chill down his spine.
A minute later, with a creaking sound, the main door of the cell block opened. A flurry of dense footsteps approached, and heavily armed prison guards, like a pack of red-eyed mad dogs, lined up in several long columns and rushed into the ground floor hall.
The guards had been driven insane by this sudden riot. Amidst William’s roar, they quickly controlled every corridor and staircase. Outside every cell, there was a guard aiming a gun, as if ready for a massacre at any moment!
Fatty was a bit dazed, "Damn, why did the guards all come out this time? Who’s cooperating with me that well?"
"Great!" William sneered, his anger almost setting him on fire, "You!... How dare you!"
This prison director, destined to be severely punished for this incident, breathed heavily with bloodshot eyes, and the veins on his forehead bulged like wriggling worms.
The main door of the cell block closed, and the entire prison fell into a deathly silence, eerie and bloody.
"I will make you all pay!" After a series of low-pitched maddening laughs, William screamed frantically, "You! You! Every one of you! Must pay!" His voice grew hoarse as he clearly descended into madness, "Picard, find the leaders of the riot, and those who participated, execute them on the spot!!"
At this command, everyone in the cell block, including the guards, were stunned! At least seventy percent of the inmates participated in the riot. William was crazy; he wanted to kill everyone here! The prisoners’ hearts sank to the bottom. Some were in despair, while others became more agitated. They pounded on the cell doors, shouting and screaming, completely disregarding the guards holding energy guns in front of them. The entire prison plunged into chaotic commotion.
Picard looked around at the increasingly agitated inmates and whispered, "Warden, we can’t explain this to the higher-ups! And how do you expect me to identify them? No one will admit to participating in the riot! We can’t deal with so many people at once!"
William glared at Picard and yelled, "They collectively rioted and attempted to escape. Isn’t that reason enough! We don’t need to identify. The surveillance footage will give us the answers. Now, you just need to start shooting!" He looked at the trapped inmates behind the cell doors, his face twisted, "What I need is a thorough massacre! I’ve endured these scum for twenty years. Now, they’ve ruined my life. I will destroy them! Completely destroy them!"
"You can’t kill innocents! I’m innocent!" a voice suddenly shouted, shrill and pitiful. William jerked his head toward the voice, seeing a Fatty lying on the D2 cell door, crying and wailing.
The entire cell block suddenly fell silent. The inmates looked at the shameless Fatty, somewhat dumbfounded. If he considered himself innocent, who in this prison wasn’t?
William sneered, "Look, someone dared to accuse me of killing innocents." He stared at Picard, "Execute my order! Now!"
Picard raised his hand and shouted, "All guards, on my command... fire..." Just as he swung his hand down, dense gunfire erupted, like a symphony of death. The entire prison turned into a bloody hell. Blood splattered with shredded bodies, and desperate screams echoed in the closed cell block.
The first to be killed were not Fatty, but William and Picard. Their bodies were torn to pieces by the dense energy bullets from dozens of automatic patrol guns. Immediately after, hundreds of automatic patrol guns with rotating mechanical arms opened fire simultaneously. No one could survive in this bullet web that covered every corner outside the cells. The guards fell into pools of blood without any response.
Slaughter, this was a real slaughter.
The gunfire lasted less than ten seconds. The corridors and staircases of the cell block were already littered with the bodies of the guards.
The terrified inmates stared blankly at what happened in front of them. They remained in their hiding positions. They couldn’t believe their eyes; the guards who tried to kill them were taken down by the automatic energy guns at the last moment.
The Doctor stared at Fatty, unable to control his trembling body. Everything was too clear.
At the moment Picard gave the order, Fatty pressed the start button on the game controller, and the automatic energy guns fired. Those mechanical killers, hovering and rotating with fire-spitting muzzles of death, seemed to be controlled by an invisible thread, which was in Fatty’s nimble fingers. No one could escape those devil-like automatic killers.
When Fatty turned off the controller switch, the gunfire ceased.
All of this was orchestrated by Fatty. With a flip of his hand, he controlled the situation. With a game controller, like playing a real-life game, he killed hundreds of people!
The cell block fell into dead silence, and the Doctor clearly heard the sound of his teeth chattering from his trembling.
He knew he had judged correctly.
Because Fatty suddenly pulled open the cell door, looked around, and walked out.
