Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: UNTITLED
"What time is it?" Logan asked as he rubbed his temples, the question directed at Chris, his assistant who had just stepped into this office a while ago.
"It’s now past ten. I think that it’s time for you to leave if you don’t want the madam to wait for you for a long time at the airport," Chris responded, as he pushed the glasses on the bridge of his nose.
Logan grunted a response as he put his hands down, his gaze darting all over his desk, looking for something.
"There aren’t any appointments today, right?"
"Nope. I have the whole day’s schedule cleared."
"Good!" Logan said as he rose to his feet after not finding whatever he was looking for.
He took the jacket from the chair and put it on before packing his suitcase meticulously and swiftly.
Once that was done, Chris, being a dedicated assistant, took the suitcase from Logan and led the way.
The secretaries, upon seeing their boss leaving work early, could only rise to their feet and bade him farewell before sitting back and started gossiping in whispers, curious about where he was going.
Logan and Chris took the private elevator to the underground parking, where the driver was already waiting.
When they got there, Chris opened the door for Logan and watched him settle down first before handing over the suitcase.
"Have a safe trip, sir."
"Thanks, Chris," Logan responded as he closed his eyes.
Chris gently closed the door and watched as the car glided away from the parking space.
Once the car was out of view, he walked back to the elevator and returned to work.
Just because the boss wasn’t going to work for the rest of the day didn’t mean that he could take the day off. His workload was still there and wouldn’t finish itself.
Meanwhile, on Logan’s side, after leaving the company, he called the mansion and instructed the butler to have lunch prepared. He didn’t want his wife to starve after returning. He wanted her to be at ease.
’I wonder how well her brother is?’ he wondered as he thought about how badly she wanted the money before.
It took at most an hour and a half before the airport was in view and he became more excited at the thought of seeing her.
When they got there, he checked the time and sighed with relief, knowing that he wasn’t late.
After the car parked, he alighted and came out holding a bouquet of flowers he purchased along the way. He couldn’t come and pick her up without anything to show, right?
With flowers in hand, he moved his long legs and started walking towards the terminal she told him earlier would be using when she was boarding the plane in the other city.
Logan was someone who attracted attention wherever he went. And with a group of bodyguards shadowing him, those seeing him were even more curious about him.
There were others who instantly recognized him and seeing him with flowers. They were quite eager to know who he came to pick up and if the other person was female or not.
Paparazzi were very good with their job and they earned a keep by providing such juicy news in time, lest it become old news by the time they post something.
So, while keeping a distance from Logan, to not attract his fury and suffer the consequences, they were busy drafting nice passages and posting them online, causing a wave of noise there.
Meanwhile, Logan, on the other side, didn’t really care about all these other people. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have appeared on the night of the banquet to pick Briar up.
He wanted to be in the open with her. He wasn’t ashamed of her and so he wanted to show her off as much as possible. And who were the best people to use in such situations?
Paparazzi.
So, they came quite in handy. As long as they don’t flock to him, he wouldn’t care how they do it. Of course, after sharing the news, it would be even better if they didn’t write nonsense and discredit his woman. Whoever tramples on what he loves would be punished severely.

On the other hand, Briar’s plane had landed and being in the first class, since she didn’t plan to wrong herself anymore when it comes to certain luxuries, was one of the first to disembark from the plane.
She wasn’t alone but was with a friendly woman she sat with on the plane. The two of them clicked pretty much and were getting very much along. It was like fate.
"Darling, we must meet for some afternoon tea or a visit to the gallery in the future. I really like talking to you!"
Briar grinned as she found the other’s words quite pleasing to the ears and responded, "I will surely do so. How about this week? I need to visit the salon and get my hair done. We can catch up on things and all that. That’s if, if you are free, of course!" suggesting that to the other.
The woman looked at Briar and then her short hair, which was neatly done, and found herself agreeing to the suggestion. "I think I might like that. Although I don’t want to do my hair. I don’t mind accompanying you!"
Briar beamed when she heard the other person agreeing. "Lisa, I like you more and more! If you have a salon, you know, introduce me there. I don’t lack money!"
Lisa’s eyes sparked when she heard that and responded, "And neither do I!"
The two both chuckled heartily, seeing how well they seemed to resonate with each other.
Briar was very happy to have found someone so easy to talk to and friendly by herself.
If things go well, then perhaps the two of them will become friends.
It didn’t hurt having more friends in life. And interacting with more people was beneficial for her.
Although she didn’t plan on becoming a social animal full-time, having a small circle to call her own would put her at ease.
Just because she loves him like crazy doesn’t mean that her whole life should completely revolve around him.
Having several outlets to vent out to in the future didn’t seem to be so bad.
With that in mind, Briar became even more eager to befriend Lisa, and Lisa was happy to oblige.
