Chapter 67: Drama (2)
The two girls sat frozen, still stunned by Sophia’s outright shamelessness.
Neither of them knew how to react to what had just happened.
They could only stare, mouths slightly open, caught in an awkward blend of shock, disbelief, and growing irritation.
Sure, they were all happy that Caleb had made such a bold declaration—but that didn’t mean Sophia had any business pulling something so brazen right in front of them!
None of them had seen it coming.
Naya’s dumbfounded expression didn’t last long, though. It quickly morphed into something far more dangerous—a deep, simmering glare—especially after hearing Caleb’s calm reply, as if nothing had happened.
To her, it was almost like Caleb didn’t care.
Didn’t care that another woman had just kissed him.
Didn’t care that he’d barely reacted.
Didn’t care that Naya herself was sitting right there.
Caleb, however, remained completely unaware of the storm brewing beside him. His mind was off elsewhere.
’I know she’s cooking up some ridiculous scheme again,’ he thought, his lips curling into a slight smile.
A smile that only fueled Naya’s silent fury.
Last time, despite all the signs, Caleb had refused to believe Sophia could ever betray him.
But this time, he was ready.
He was going to play the game.
And this time, he’d be the cat, not the mouse.
While he was still lost in the excitement of his mental chess match with Sophia, a muttered voice to his side snapped him back to reality.
It was quiet, almost under her breath—but he was close enough to hear it.
"Tch... shameless bastard... taking kisses from everyone."
Her voice was soft, but the venom in it was unmistakable.
And, of course, as if on cue, the system chimed in gleefully:
{Ding!}
{Affection meter 💗 Naya: 75}
Caleb’s eyes widened slightly. He immediately turned his head towards Naya, ready to explain.
But the moment he did, she snapped her head away with a sharp huff, arms crossed tightly over her chest.
"Naya—"
"What?" she cut in coldly, her face set in a cheeky scowl. "Keep going. Don’t mind me. You have more planning to do, right?"
Her tone dripped with playful mockery, but the anger underneath was very, very real.
Caleb let out a helpless sigh, a wry smile tugging at his lips.
’First the elevator, now this? I’m seriously screwed... I’m going to need a full hour just to explain all this nonsense when we get out of here.’
The dramatic tension in the room had skyrocketed.
The air was practically crackling with awkwardness and silent grumbling.
And through it all, Sophia—looking far too pleased with herself—let out a soft, wicked little giggle, clearly delighted with the chaos she’d stirred.
Helene and Naya didn’t know how to react. They could only look away, both visibly flustered and overwhelmed.
But Naya was far from fine.
The moment Sophia’s playful laugh rang through the room, something inside Naya snapped. She clenched her fists tightly, her eyes narrowing into a sharp, icy glare aimed directly at Sophia.
Sophia, however, didn’t flinch. She met the glare head-on, her expression calm but challenging—clearly provoking a fight.
’Who does this bitch think she is?’ Naya seethed internally, her irritation burning hotter by the second.
It was obvious now. Crystal clear.
Sophia had kissed Caleb just to mess with her.
And now she was even enjoying the reaction.
The realization hit Naya like a slap to the face.
’I see... So she wants him too,’ she thought darkly, her gaze shifting between the two Gracia sisters.
That’s when she caught Helene staring at Caleb as well.
But the very instant Helene sensed Naya’s eyes on her, she flinched and their gazes locked. Helene’s face immediately flushed bright red, and she snapped her head away in embarrassment.
’What’s wrong with Sis Sophy?!’ Helene thought, her heart racing. ’She can clearly tell that those two have a thing going... Does she have to insert herself into everything?’
She felt like scolding her sister on the spot—but before she could indulge the thought any further, her mind flashed back to the elevator.
Her face turned scarlet.
’Ah— I... I did something even worse!’ Helene clutched her head in silent horror. ’I have no right to say anything! I’m just as bad!’
Right now, all she wanted was to sink through the floor and vanish entirely.
Meanwhile, Naya let out a quiet sigh, her frustration simmering.
’So... even her too?’ she thought, her eyes softening for a moment.
It was clear now. Both Sophia and Helene had started to develop feelings for Caleb.
But could she really blame them?
Even she hadn’t been immune to it. From the very first time she’d met him, something about him had sparked her curiosity. Drawn her in.
’I guess he’s just too good... I should’ve expected this.’
She grit her teeth quietly.
Caleb’s unwavering confidence, his kindness, and the way he stood up to protect her even when the odds were stacked against him—those things were rare. And magnetic.
Especially for girls like them. Girls who had stared death in the face. Girls who had tasted betrayal and pain.
Having someone like Caleb—someone who could stand tall, fight for them, and promise them safety—was more than just comforting.
It was life-changing.
It was no wonder both sisters were drawn to him.
Honestly, so was she.
It almost felt like Caleb had been made to fit that role perfectly.
A natural protector.
And whether she liked it or not...
She wasn’t the only one falling for him.
But the issue here was...
’I got him first. Y’all better stay away,’ Naya thought to herself, her eyes narrowing with determination.
And almost as if to make that declaration crystal clear, she grabbed Caleb by the collar—and before he could even react—she pressed her lips firmly against his.
Caleb’s eyes shot open in shock.
’N-Naya?!’ he thought, utterly stunned.
For a split second, he considered pushing her away. But then their eyes met.
Her sharp, icy-blue gaze locked onto his, and something inside him froze.
It was the same terrifying coldness he’d seen the first time they met—back when she’d held a blade to his most precious asset.
He swore he could almost feel that blade again, phantom-like, pressing threateningly against him.
Those eyes said it all.
’You’d better not screw this up.’
And Caleb—who valued his life and other vital organs—had no intention of finding out what an angry Naya was capable of.
He swallowed hard and shoved the thought aside, choosing instead to close his eyes and give in to the moment.
Her soft lips moved against his with fierce determination, taking him—and the two watching sisters—completely by surprise.
She invaded his mouth, trying to take control.
But Caleb bit down on her tongue—just gently enough to make a point.
’Nice try,’ he thought smugly. ’You don’t get to take the lead that easily.’
Naya jolted, her face burning red from the playful sting.
She’d thought she had him. She’d been so sure she could dominate the kiss.
But Caleb wasn’t going to let her win so easily.
Before she could even pull back or recover, Caleb’s hand reached up, gently cradling the back of her head—and then he flipped the tables entirely.
His tongue ransacked her mouth with expert precision, taking complete control. Every flick, every movement, was deliberate—asserting his dominance without question.
Naya’s knees nearly buckled from the intensity.
By the time Caleb finally broke the kiss—after what felt like an eternity—he pulled back wearing a smug, victorious grin.
Like a king surveying his conquered battlefield.
Naya blinked, dazed. Her breath came out in quick, shallow gasps. Her lips parted, still yearning for more without her even realizing it. A thin trail of their shared saliva clung to her lower lip, glistening on her dress.
Her heart pounded uncontrollably in her chest.
’H-He stopped...?’ she thought in disbelief, her mind spinning. She was still hungry for more—she hated that she was.
Her flushed face and glassy eyes left nothing to the imagination.
Caleb, however, decided to snap her back to reality—with style.
"I never knew you could be so shameless," he teased loudly, shooting her a playful smirk. "I mean... you didn’t tell me we were shooting a kissing scene for a movie. Even our audience wasn’t ready for that one."
He jerked his chin toward the utterly stunned Sophia and Helene, both of whom looked like they’d just witnessed the most dramatic soap opera plot twist of their lives.
Naya’s dazed expression shattered as she realized what had just happened.
Her entire face turned crimson.
