After teasing Lilith for a bit, Ye Chuan put the jade pendant in his pocket and left the room.

He opened the door and froze.

A figure stood outside. 

A girl with long, black hair cascading down her back, dressed in a black and white maid outfit with lacy frills, her demeanor cool and elegant, looked at him.

She was holding a dust cloth, seemingly in the middle of chores.

"Qianshuang?" Ye Chuan was surprised to see Bai Qianshuang dressed as a maid. Where did she get that outfit?

"Good morning," Bai Qianshuang said, seeing Ye Chuan emerge. Noticing his gaze, she seemed a bit awkward, her legs, clad in black stockings, shifting slightly. 

After a moment of silence, she explained softly,

"Xiaoke said you might like this."

Ye Chuan stroked his chin. "It does look good."

But a bit strange.

He raised his voice. "Xiaoke!"

In the next second, a head popped out of the wall. "Oh? Ye Chuan, you looking for me?"

Before Lan Xiaoke could fully emerge, Ye Chuan pinched her cheek and pulled her out. "What's going on? What did you do to Qianshuang?"

"I didn't do anything! I just taught Bai Qianshuang how to do housework!" Lan Xiaoke said innocently, blinking her big eyes. 

Her face was stretched out from Ye Chuan's grip, snapping back like jelly when he let go.

Lan Xiaoke rubbed her face and floated out, joining Bai Qianshuang. 

One with long white hair, the other with long black hair, they looked like a pair of guardians.

His apartment wasn't that big; having two girls dressed as maids was a bit strange.

"You like wearing maid outfits, fine, but why Qianshuang?" Ye Chuan asked, his arms crossed, glancing at Bai Qianshuang. It did look good on her, though.

She was a swordswoman, what was she doing wearing a maid outfit and wielding a sword?!

Wait.

That actually sounded pretty cool.

Probably because Bai Qianshuang was so beautiful, she could pull off any outfit.

Lan Xiaoke averted her gaze. 

She had just wanted to slack off, so she tricked Bai Qianshuang into doing the chores. Who knew Bai Qianshuang would be so efficient, even ordering a maid outfit online?

Just as Ye Chuan was about to scold Lan Xiaoke, the sound of a key turning in the lock echoed from the front door.

"Chuan Chuan, are you awake?" Light footsteps approached, and Luo Xi entered, carrying breakfast.

Ye Chuan froze and turned around.

"I brought dumplings, my mom made them…" Luo Xi stopped mid-sentence, noticing Ye Chuan and Bai Qianshuang, her voice trailing off.

From her perspective, she couldn't see Lan Xiaoke, and Bai Qianshuang, dressed in a maid outfit, was standing before Ye Chuan, as if they were engaging in some kind of roleplay.

"Miss Bai, why are you dressed like that?" Luo Xi asked.

Bai Qianshuang simply said, "I'm repaying Ye Chuan."

Repaying Ye Chuan… by wearing a maid outfit?

Luo Xi took a few steps back, incredulous, then looked at Ye Chuan, walked over to him quickly, pinched his waist, and raised her chin, seemingly jealous.

"Chuan Chuan, what did you do to Miss Bai? Why is she wearing that?"

Wronged

Ye Chuan felt a giant, red "wronged" character appear above his head.

He hadn't asked Bai Qianshuang to do anything, just to stay home, eat, and drink. 

Who knew she would be tricked by Lan Xiaoke into wearing a maid outfit and doing chores?

And he hadn't even asked Lan Xiaoke to wear a maid outfit; she had changed into it herself.

Ye Chuan looked at Lan Xiaoke, who had already stuck half her body into the wall, like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, only her butt visible.

Ye Chuan: "..."

Luo Xi, seeing Ye Chuan look away, thought he was avoiding the question.

"I'm angry!" Luo Xi said.

Ye Chuan scratched his face, thinking about how to appease his girlfriend, when she suddenly said,

"I can wear that too, you know. Why didn't you ask me if you wanted to see someone in a maid outfit?"

Seeing Luo Xi's cute, angry expression, Ye Chuan coughed lightly. 

"It's a misunderstanding, she's just… cosplaying."

"Cosplaying?" Luo Xi was puzzled.

"Yeah, roleplaying, right, Qianshuang?" Ye Chuan looked at Bai Qianshuang, giving her a look.

He wasn't sure if this airhead would understand.

Bai Qianshuang, sensing Ye Chuan's cue, although not understanding what "cosplay" meant, nodded towards Luo Xi.

"Indeed."

Didn't understand, but nodded anyway.

Bai Qianshuang sometimes thought she was quite clever.

"Chuan Chuan didn't force you?" Luo Xi asked Bai Qianshuang, curious. She had thought it was Ye Chuan's strange fetish.

"No, it was my own choice," Bai Qianshuang said.

"Oh, okay," Luo Xi seemed to accept the explanation. So it was a misunderstanding.

Seeing that Luo Xi wasn't angry anymore, Ye Chuan glared at the instigator in the wall and spanked Lan Xiaoke's butt. Hearing her yelp, he said with a smile,

"Beautiful Luo Xi, let's have breakfast first."

"Huh? Did I just hear…" Luo Xi thought she had heard Lan Xiaoke's voice, but she didn't dwell on it. 

"Chuan Chuan, I misunderstood you, don't be angry."

"It's fine, you can wear it for me next time."

"Hmph, I'll think about it." Luo Xi seemed quite receptive to the idea. She had seen videos where boyfriends bought their girlfriends all sorts of clothes.

Luo Xi had brought a lot of dumplings, all handmade by her mother.

"What filling?"

"Mushroom and pork."

Luo Xi invited Bai Qianshuang to join them for breakfast.

"Here, take this back for your mom," Ye Chuan said, eating the dumplings Luo Xi had given him, and took out a small package from his pocket. 

"This is the enhanced version of the Ye family's secret recipe. It can cure your mom's illness in one go."

Inside was, of course, the ground-up Rejuvenation Pill.

After all, a glowing emerald green pill would look too suspicious.

"One… go?" Luo Xi was surprised by his words. Could it really cure her mother in one go?

Even major hospitals wouldn't guarantee a one-time cure.

Meeting Luo Xi's questioning gaze, Ye Chuan nodded.

"Yes."
