Ye Chuan remained impassive, glancing at the disciple. "Why?"

"Servant disciples receive very few resources, not enough to cultivate and improve their strength, so…" the disciple explained the plight of a servant disciple.

Although they were envied by mortals as cultivators, within the cultivation world, they were merely servants with no resources, struggling to even become outer disciples.

Without resources, reaching Foundation Establishment in their lifetime was almost impossible, unless they stumbled upon a fortuitous encounter.

"What's your name?" Ye Chuan asked.

"Jiu'er." (TL: 九儿, literally "Ninth Daughter," possibly indicating her birth order or position among the disciples.)

"You can stay," Ye Chuan said.

"Thank you, Senior Brother!" Jiu'er's face lit up. She had only asked tentatively, not expecting him to agree.

Ye Chuan kept her around to learn more about the Tianxuan Continent; he needed someone to provide him with information.

It was perfectly reasonable for a senior brother to ask a servant disciple some questions, right?

Too bad the guy in front of him hadn't been chosen. He was thirty-one but had pretended to be thirty and had been thrown down the mountain.

He must have been badly injured.

He could use some eggs to soothe his wounds.

"Come with me," Ye Chuan said.

"Okay…" Jiu'er nodded.

"Hey, why are you taking off your clothes? I just want to ask you about the Qingyun Sect."

Jiu'er froze, her face flushing crimson, and sat down obediently.

…

Half an hour later, having obtained the information he needed, Ye Chuan left the cave and headed towards the Scripture Pavilion.

With the map, finding the Scripture Pavilion wasn't difficult.

He found a tall, tower-like structure on a mountain peak and landed.

"That's Elder Ziyun's new direct disciple. He's so young, yet already at peak Foundation Establishment."

"Really? We've been cultivating for a hundred years and barely reached Foundation Establishment. He must have stepped in dog shit or something." (TL: A Chinese saying indicating extreme luck.)

"Why would I lie to you? All the elders were fighting over him."

"What kind of talent is that? He might become the youngest elder of our Flying Sword Peak."

"He has a bright future, he'll definitely become the youngest powerhouse of our Qingyun Sect."

"Tch, who knows? Maybe he just stumbled upon some lucky encounter and reached Foundation Establishment."

As soon as he landed, Ye Chuan felt the gazes of the Flying Sword Peak disciples.

They were all dressed in white, each with a sword, their appearances almost identical, like products from an assembly line. As expected of the Tianxuan Continent, there weren't many unattractive people.

Even those with less-than-perfect features were… enhanced by the spiritual energy of this world.

"I'll blow you all up later," Ye Chuan thought to himself, a smile plastered on his face.

Entering the Scripture Pavilion, Ye Chuan looked around and saw rows of bookshelves and an old man dozing behind a desk.

The old man, sensing someone enter, glanced at Ye Chuan lazily. "What do you want?"

Ye Chuan presented Elder Ziyun's token. "My master asked me to choose a cultivation technique."

"Oh? You're that old Ziyun's new disciple?" The old man took a closer look at Ye Chuan. "You can browse the first three floors, but you can only borrow one technique. Don't go to the fourth or fifth floor."

"Why?"

"There's a barrier, only elders are allowed. If you're capable enough, you can break through the barrier yourself, I won't stop you," the old man sneered, then ignored him.

Ye Chuan casually browsed the techniques on the first floor.

"Choose carefully on the first floor. Many of these are techniques from the Demonic Jade Void Sect, confiscated after their destruction," the old man said, seeing Ye Chuan lingering on the first floor.

"If they're demonic techniques, why not destroy them?" Ye Chuan asked.

"Even demonic sects have some normal techniques. There's no need to waste them."

"..."

After browsing the first floor, Ye Chuan felt it was inconvenient to… work… under the old man's watchful eye, so he went up to the second floor.

Arriving on the second floor, Ye Chuan activated his Chaotic Indestructible Body.

This way, even if the old man used his divine sense, he wouldn't know what he was doing.

"Come forth," Ye Chuan said, using his divine ability.

His clone appeared and enveloped him, his figure turning completely black, only his white teeth visible.

This was the perfect disguise for doing bad things.

Perfect.

The shelves were filled with cultivation techniques, exuding an ancient aura, clearly having been there for many years.

Ye Chuan looked at the techniques and, with a wave of his hand, stored them all in his spatial backpack.

Take them all, take everything!

After clearing out the second floor, Ye Chuan went to the third floor.

There were even more techniques here, but they all disappeared into his backpack in the blink of an eye, faster than any robbery.

Arriving at the entrance to the fourth floor, Ye Chuan saw a barrier blocking the way.

"So this is the barrier? Only elders are allowed?"

"Let me see."

Ye Chuan circulated his Chaotic Indestructible Body and reached out. The barrier's power flared, but it was quickly devoured and neutralized by his chaotic energy.

Immune to magic, kid.

"As I suspected, these magic barriers are useless against me," Ye Chuan said, walking through the barrier. After all, the old man had said he could enter if he was capable enough.

And he had entered through his own abilities.

The fourth floor was much larger than the third. Ye Chuan casually picked up a technique and found that it was of a much higher level than those on the lower floors.

It seemed the good stuff was reserved for the elders; the disciples only got the leftovers.

No matter where you went, the best things were always for the elites.

But even with so many techniques, it only took Ye Chuan a few dozen seconds to clear them out.

Then, the fifth floor!

The sixth floor!

"Full, completely full," Ye Chuan said, standing in the center of the sixth floor, the surrounding bookshelves empty. He looked at his backpack, overflowing with cultivation techniques.

"I'll keep the suitable ones for myself and Qianshuang, and sell the rest at an auction house or on the black market. I can exchange them for a lot of treasures."

Just as he was about to leave, his divine sense detected something. Someone was coming up from below?

"Whatever, I've got what I came for. Time for some fireworks."

It didn't matter if he was discovered and killed later.

Huang Haotian's death had nothing to do with him.

Ye Chuan took out the gleaming Crystallization Pill from his backpack and swallowed it.

"Rumble!"

"Rumble!"

Outside the Scripture Pavilion, the clear sky instantly turned dark.
