Ye Chuan was a bit taken aback.

What did she mean by "that night"?

He was still a pure young man; he was saving himself for Luo Xi.

But the mention of "outskirts" reminded him of something. 

He had indeed rescued a woman a few days ago, but he couldn't quite remember what she looked like.

After all, he was only interested in money. He explained,

"Oh, I rescued a kidnapped woman a few days ago. What a coincidence, it was that CEO?"

Rescued a kidnapped CEO?

Those words sounded strange together, so strange that Luo Xi wondered if Ye Chuan was making up another story.

After all, he had a habit of embellishing the truth.

He was Ye Chuan, and he loved telling little white lies.

"Chuan Chuan, when did you rescue someone?" Luo Xi asked. She had never heard about this.

"Just a few days ago, I was bored and went for a walk in the outskirts, and I happened to see a woman being kidnapped. I did a sliding tackle and knocked out all the kidnappers," Ye Chuan said, spreading his hands innocently.

Bored… and went for a walk in the outskirts?

That was quite a walk.

Luo Xi didn't dwell on it, just touched Ye Chuan's arm and asked, "Chuan Chuan, you weren't hurt, were you?"

"Nope," Ye Chuan smiled.

"Don't do anything so dangerous again. What if those kidnappers had weapons? What if you got hurt?" Luo Xi said worriedly. 

"You should know better than to put yourself in danger."

"Okay."

After a while, Ye Chuan's phone vibrated; the money had arrived.

"Wow…" Luo Xi's eyes widened, seeing the one million transfer.

"Xiao Chuan is a rich man now," Mother Luo said with a gentle smile. She had always been optimistic about Ye Chuan, a resilient young man. 

She had even told Luo Xi that he would either become rich or end up in jail.

"That CEO wants to add you on her contacts, Ye Chuan," Father Luo said.

"No."

"Then I'll tell her that."

"Mm."

After a while, Father Luo said, "She said she's willing to pay more if you add her."

Before Ye Chuan could reply, he saw another three hundred thousand arrive in his account.

"Huh?" Ye Chuan raised an eyebrow.

Three hundred thousand just to add him as a contact?

"Add," Ye Chuan said. He wouldn't let any money tree slip away. That woman seemed even richer than he had imagined.

After they exchanged contact information, Qiao Xin didn't message him immediately, and Ye Chuan didn't bother with it either.

After dinner at the Luo family's, Ye Chuan was about to go home.

"Xiao Chuan, just stay the night, it's the same wherever you sleep," Mother Luo said with a smile.

"No, Auntie, I don't have any clothes to change into."

"You do, I bought you two new sets of pajamas recently, they're already washed," Luo Xi said, then, meeting Ye Chuan's gaze, she added,

"Chuan Chuan, you always wear your outside clothes as pajamas, they're all wrinkled."

Ye Chuan was a bit surprised, but since Luo Xi had said so, he readily agreed.

After showering, Ye Chuan and Luo Xi returned to her room.

Outside, Mother Luo and Father Luo exchanged glances, as if they had expected this. 

After all, they had seen how Ye Chuan and Luo Xi interacted, like a young couple.

Whether he was rich or poor, Mother Luo had always considered Ye Chuan as a potential son-in-law.

And now that he was earning so much money, she liked him even more.

She knew how much her daughter liked him.

Inside Luo Xi's room,

Ye Chuan looked at the floor and asked, "Where's my bedding?"

"Why would you need bedding?" Luo Xi asked. They were dating now, and her mother's intentions were clear.

It was fine for them to sleep together.

"What if I eat you if we sleep together?" Ye Chuan chuckled. "You're so eager, I'm afraid I'll devour you whole."

Ye Chuan almost got bitten after saying that.

"No way! Then you sleep on the floor, I don't care," Luo Xi said coquettishly, turning her back to him.

Ye Chuan chuckled, sat on the edge of the bed, then leaned over and turned Luo Xi around. 

Seeing her staring at him, he pinched her cheek gently. "I'm staying the night, shouldn't you show some gratitude?"

Luo Xi closed her eyes, her face flushed.

Ye Chuan kissed her, then pinched her nose playfully, and Luo Xi giggled, hiding under the covers.

"That tickles!"

Ye Chuan didn't continue teasing her; they were at her parents' house, after all. Who knew if they would hear them?

"What's in that box?" Ye Chuan asked, noticing a cardboard box by the side.

Luo Xi peeked out from under the covers, looked in the direction he was pointing, and explained, "Just some old things from school, I was going to sort them out."

"Old things from school?" Ye Chuan was a bit curious. "Can I see?"

"Okay." Luo Xi sat up and pulled the box over.

Inside, there were all sorts of things: a school uniform covered in signatures, yearbooks, sneakers, plushies…

"You have a lot of stuff," Ye Chuan said, looking through the contents. 

Luo Xi had always been popular at school, as evidenced by the signatures on her uniform.

Then, Ye Chuan noticed a photo album in the box.

"A photo album?"

"That's from a long time ago," Luo Xi explained, then realized she had forgotten something important.

Ye Chuan opened the album.

There were many photos inside, some small instant photos, some regular prints, and some loose photos that had yellowed with age.

"Quite a collection."

Ye Chuan noticed a group photo: a cool girl with short hair, a ponytailed girl with a bright smile, and a skinny boy with an annoyed expression, clearly dragged into the photo.

"Middle school? That was six years ago," Ye Chuan said, looking at the photo of the trio.

They hadn't changed much, except Luo Xi had become even more beautiful.

And he,

Even more handsome.

Ye Chuan continued flipping through the album. Most of the photos were group photos, some with their class or grade.

Among the sea of faces, Ye Chuan could barely find himself.

"Here, and here," Luo Xi pointed at a few spots in the group photos.

The photos were a bit blurry, but Luo Xi quickly found Ye Chuan.

"How did you find me so fast?" Ye Chuan was surprised.

"Because you stand out, Chuan Chuan, with your smug look," Luo Xi said with a grin.

"Really?"

Ye Chuan casually flipped to the last few pages and found that they were all photos of a single boy, taken secretly.

Ye Chuan froze.

Wasn't that him?

Luo Xi finally remembered what she had forgotten. 

She yelped and covered the album with her face, blushing crimson.

"N-no peeking!"
