Ye Chuan opened all the bottles, watching the spirit essences swirl.

Wang Yanran found Ye Chuan's method of absorbing spirit essence incredible.

Sensing Lilith's dissatisfaction, Ye Chuan smiled faintly. "Don't worry, it'll take time."

As if agreeing with him, Lilith gave a soft "mm-hmm" and then fell silent.

"Do you have more spirit essence?" Ye Chuan asked Wang Yanran.

Wang Yanran hesitated for a few seconds, then gritted her teeth. "Yes, I'll bring them tomorrow."

After dinner, Ye Chuan returned to school.

He found an empty pavilion by the lake and decided to rest for a bit.

Lilith emerged and sat on the stone table across from him, her arms crossed. "..."

Ye Chuan was surprised to see Lilith come out. She rarely appeared on her own initiative. 

Could it be because he had given her the spirit essence?

"Since you've been so diligent in collecting spirit essence for me, I shall allow you to become my subordinate," Lilith said, one hand propping up her chin, the other twirling a strand of hair. 

Her previously translucent form had become more solid.

"I'd rather be the master," Ye Chuan grinned.

Lilith scoffed, as if she had heard a joke. "Master? You're just a slightly larger ant to me. What are you thinking?"

"But you seem to be even smaller than an ant right now," Ye Chuan chuckled.

Lilith puffed out her cheeks, annoyed. He was right; her soul was damaged, and she could barely cast any magic.

She was weaker than Ye Chuan.

"Hmph."

"So, are you ready to sign the contract?" Ye Chuan took out the rental agreement from his spatial backpack.

Lilith looked at the contract, and with a flick of her finger, it floated up and flipped rapidly before her eyes.

In just a few days, Lilith had mastered the language of this world; reading a contract was no problem for her.

"A rental agreement?" After reading the contract, Lilith seemed confused by Ye Chuan's intentions.

Why did he want her to live in that dilapidated house? What benefit would he gain?

And she could sense that the contract had no magical binding power; it was just ordinary paper.

If it was just ordinary paper, why bother with it?

"So?" Ye Chuan smiled.

"Should I trust you?" Lilith asked.
