Chapter 419: Chapter 397: Breakthrough with One Strike

Above the Bohemian Forest. On the plane.

The drunkard stood in front of the cabin door, his hands gripping the back of a nearby seat, cautiously glancing at the people around him.

"We’re teammates, right?" he asked again, emphasizing the point.

"Yeah, yeah..." everyone nodded in agreement.

"But why do I get the feeling that your promises are half-hearted?" the drunkard complained, his face full of accusation.

"It might be your imagination," the others responded in unison.

Upon hearing this, the drunkard grew even more nervous: "Look at you, all seeming so insincere, it feels like you’ve all been led astray by this guy!" he pointed at Chen Xiao and shouted.

Chen Xiao squinted his eyes: "Stop blaming me for everything, will you? Just jump already. The nurse said you won’t die, so stop dilly-dallying."

"What’s the rush, why don’t you jump?"

"If I had your abilities, I would have jumped ages ago!" Chen Xiao said, spreading his hands.

...

Indeed, a month ago, after they learned the coordinates of the Foundation’s branch from Miss Shan Nai, they devised a plan. This plan was long; we’ll straighten out the details later. For now, what we’re dealing with is the first step of the plan: to retrieve Angel’s body. Obviously, to take the body back, it’s necessary to enter the Order Foundation—the Non-Euclidean Union’s base. And to get inside the base, it’s imperative to break through the protective layer surrounding it.

This was a task that sounded simple but was incredibly hard to execute. As the Foundation’s most advanced technical section, the protective layer wasn’t something one could just breach with a bomb or by having "TV-kun"... oh, it should be called "Smartphone-kun" now... easily hack into. Even Reina’s electromagnetic abilities were of no use here. As for the strength of the protective layer, as mentioned before, it should have no problem withstanding a direct nuclear explosion.

In the face of this dilemma, it took Chen Xiao roughly ten seconds to come up with a highly feasible plan, which was, admittedly, a bit mean.

The plan was simple; it was to have the drunkard jump straight down from right above the protective layer!

As for the height... well, with the plane positioned there, it’s pretty obvious.

Let’s take a moment to recall one of the drunkard’s anomalous properties. At the same speed, his body produces energy more efficiently than ordinary objects.

It might not seem too special at a glance, so let me give you a few examples.

A regular person’s top speed is roughly 10 meters per second. The drunkard, due to his own powers and the fact that high-ranking Foundation members had once tried to incorporate him into the field agent lineup, underwent certain experiments and reinforced training. Thus, his maximum speed could reach about 30 meters per second, barely catching up with a car speeding on the highway. So how strong would the impact force be when he sprints at full speed?

It could probably smash through a 10-centimeter thick steel plate, yep, that’s pretty much it.

Now, someone might say... an anti-material sniper rifle can only pierce a couple of centimeters through a steel plate, is the drunkard even more powerful than a sniper rifle?

The answer is... of course, he’s remarkable, otherwise how could he confidently call himself an anomalous creature? And that comparison doesn’t stand anyway—a bullet weighs what, fifty grams at most? The drunkard is a big, strapping man, not comparable to a bullet. At the very least, he should be likened to a giant missile loaded with over 100 pounds of explosives.

In brief, if this guy swings his arm in a normal fashion, he could punch right through a cow. When he runs, he’s like a human shockwave. If he were to free-fall from 15,000 meters... well... he’s never tried it, so naturally, no one knows. But after a rough calculation by Smartphone-kun, the yield is probably in the region of 200,000 tons.

And here, someone might ask, didn’t you say the protective layer can withstand a nuclear explosion? A nuclear warhead’s yield is several million tons; 200,000 doesn’t seem like much in comparison.

Well, here’s a little addition to the explanation: 200,000 tons of energy are concentrated in an area the size of the drunkard’s head—well, maybe his back depending on his falling posture. Besides, a nuclear warhead explodes, whereas the drunkard’s is a real impact force. It’s like the difference between punching someone, which they can defend against, and stabbing them with a needle to see how they fare.

In short, after some discussion, the proposal to push the drunkard out of the plane was passed almost unanimously; the only dissenting vote was the drunkard’s own.

Hence, the scene that was currently unfolding.

"I don’t want to jump!" the drunkard was still making a last-ditch struggle.

(#`Д´)ノ

"Like it or not, you have to jump. Stop wasting time. In a moment, I’ll run out of power, and then we’ll be toast if the Foundation’s radar catches us!" shouted Cellphone-kun.

"You can run out of power too?" asked the drunkard, clearly pained by the thought.

"Nonsense, I’m just a program. Give me an Eniak hardware system, and I’d be self-sufficient. But now, all I have is this darn phone," it ranted. Meanwhile, the nurse had come over: "Help us out, tie us together so we don’t get blown apart in mid-air."

Without a word, Xiao Nan conjured a roll of duct tape, and then everyone got to work, binding the nurse and the drunkard tightly together.

"Hey, hey, I can’t move like this," the drunkard protested.

"That’s good, it’ll keep you from moving around and getting blown off course by the wind."

"How can I get off course with such a big target?"

"Less talking!"

Seeing everything was ready, the Locksmith, for the sake of the greater good, tossed brotherly affection aside and enthusiastically pulled open the hatch.

"Ready!" he announced.

"On my command, feet first, 3, 2, 1! Kick!"٩(◦`꒳´◦)۶

Reina stepped forward and kicked the drunkard and the nurse out of the plane.

"Save——me——ah——!!"

"Oh, relax, I told you, you won’t die," said the nurse, as if it were nothing.

"Ahhhhhh——~" Cries of terror were swallowed up by the roaring air.

The people in the cabin didn’t even give the drunkard a glance.

"Aming, go higher!" Chen Xiao yelled.

"Roger that!" came Amin’s voice from the cockpit.

"Xiao Nan, the parachutes!"

No sooner had she spoken than several parachutes appeared on the ground. Everyone picked theirs up and geared up.

Just at that moment... below the plane.

Atmospheric pressure soared, a point of light shone brightly and then vanished in an instant, followed by an earthquake, a landslide, a thunderous roar from heaven and earth, dust and debris flying everywhere. A hurricane erupted, sweeping through thousands of kilometers of forest in the Bohemian Forest, engulfing everything around it, and a massive cloud formed from sand, stones, and broken tree trunks billowed upwards, reaching the clear sky. It was like a meteor striking Earth, covering the sun.

High above, at ten thousand meters, a tremendous gust passed by, causing everyone to experience a fierce jolt.

Chen Xiao tugged at the parachute on his back...

"Heh heh... let’s go..."
