Chapter 383: Chapter 361: Death Part 2

Nolr seemed to have thought of something, he turned around and walked toward the direction of the ruins.

It was a multi-story house, apparently collapsed after its load-bearing walls were destroyed. The entire roof was covering the wood and bricks underneath. And, in one corner of the debris... something looked off.

"Steel drum!" he immediately shouted.

Abraham hurried over, extending his hand to push the pile of ruins away: "There’s nothing here," he said, spreading his hands.

Nolr pointed to a spot in front of him: "Blow it open!"

"Huh?" Abraham was taken aback.

"It’s empty inside," Nolr explained simply.

After hearing this, Abraham didn’t hesitate much. He spread his palm, and then "bang," a huge gust of air rushed toward the directed spot, and then... that section of the ground shattered, revealing a dark, murky passage beneath.

"It really is empty. How did you know?" he asked, full of curiosity.

"With your intelligence, it’s hard to explain," Nolr said indifferently and had already started walking into the passage.

Abraham shrugged his shoulders. Although that comment was quite arrogant, he wasn’t offended at all. When Nolr had first joined the Omega Team, he used to explain these kinds of things to the people around him, but... everyone sadly discovered that with their own intelligence, it really seemed hard to grasp his explanations.

So, over time, everyone got used to hearing him say that.

Seeing Nolr already moving down, Abraham turned back and shouted to Bluebird, who was still fiddling with his game console at a distance: "Hey, stop playing and catch up."

Bluebird, without even lifting his head to look in the sound’s direction, leisurely walked over while still playing with his console.

Just like that, the three of them entered the underground passage, one after another.

The staircase leading downstairs wasn’t long, and although there was no sunlight, it didn’t feel damp at all. Abraham’s shoulder lit up with something that looked like a flashlight, brightening the surroundings.

The space was small and hidden. It seemed to be a place used for hiding from warlords during the last century’s rampant dictatorship era but had now turned into a storage basement. Along the walls, there were piles of old furniture and household items. With the collapse of the building above, the items here were shaken into disarray; some ceramics fell to the ground, breaking into pieces.

However, just like upstairs, there were no people or bodies...

"It seems there’s nothing to be found here either," Abraham said resignedly. "Let’s give up then. Ziliang and Chiyuki are on their way here. We can figure out what to do after we meet up with them."

As soon as he finished speaking

"Huh? Is sister Chiyuki also coming?" Upon hearing this name, Bluebird finally decided to take his eyes off the game console, seemingly excited.

Abraham nodded: "Yes, and she’s flying here with Ziliang..."

"Uh." Bluebird frowned, seemingly recalling an uncomfortable scene: "Ziliang is probably having a tough time on the way here."

"Let’s wish him luck," Abraham also shrugged his shoulders and said.

...

While the two men stood chatting idly on the side, Nolr showed no interest in joining the conversation. Instead, he carefully searched within the area lit by their light source. Eventually, he approached a collapsed wall and rummaged through it... And then, at the very bottom, beneath the buried rubble, he discovered a stone with a hole in it.

Nolr looked at the stone, thoughtfully reaching his hand into the hole, which had been pierced by something unknown. Inside, it was full of sand and, on its surface, there seemed to be some sticky, soft substance as well.

"Do you have water!" he immediately shouted.

Abraham was taken aback, "Ah, water? Yes." He immediately replied, then walked over, "Did you find something?" He craned his neck to see, and at the same time, a faucet popped out from his waist. Hmm... indeed. Anyway, he always carried a bucket of water with him, useful for any situation during missions. Having some water didn’t seem inappropriate.

After hearing this, Nolr stuck his fingers into the hole and scraped around until he pulled out a clump of blackish material, which he placed in his palm and washed under the tap.

As the mud and sand washed away, the lump began to reveal itself... It seemed to be some kind of fleshy residue, very soft, like it had been finely minced and then kneaded together.

"What is this?" Chiyuki put down his game console, coming over curiously.

Nolr shook his head, "I don’t know. It seems to be the remains of some creature that passed through this wall, its limbs scraping against the stones, leaving some loose tissue behind... like..."

"A tentacle," Chiyuki immediately responded.

Upon hearing this, Abraham realized something was amiss. Having executed many missions to the Dark Realm, he knew all too well what the word "tentacle" implied. But... how could there be a product of the Dark Realm in such a perfectly normal environment?

Just then, the washed lump in Nolr’s hand... began to twist as if it had life, moving together and then merging into a small ball of flesh...

"How... how is this possible?" Abraham widened his eyes, asking somewhat in panic.

"I don’t know, but it looks like the products of the Dark Realm might not need to stay within the Dark Realm anymore. They seem to be able to form freely, even without an ’invasion point,’" Nolr said, manipulating the flesh ball in his hand. "And I also feel, all this might be related to Dos."

At that moment, the atmosphere grew heavy.

...

...

Meanwhile, in another small village a hundred kilometers from where Nolr and the others were, several villagers were frantically running. They were fleeing from something terrifying behind them, and not far away, several huge tentacles were wildly waving about. They quickly and effortlessly penetrated a person’s body and then flung them into the air.

"Ah!" a scream erupted, and someone among them tripped over something and fell to the ground.

"Damn it, get up quick!" another person immediately turned back, trying to help the fallen one up.

Immediately afterward,

"Pff..."

A bizarre noise erupted, and the man’s chest burst open in a spray of blood. A tentacle emerged from it, writhing ferociously. Then the man’s body rapidly withered, melted, and was completely absorbed by the tentacle, disappearing without a trace.

In his wake, the figure of Dos emerged.

"Why run away? Isn’t it glorious to become a part of my body?" he said indifferently, his blood-stained clothes twisting as if alive, with the blood gradually seeping into them.
