Chapter 696: Chapter 449: New Tag_2

Feng Yi was already on his way over, saying that they’d talk more once they met.

Uncle Bao felt quite guilty.

If it weren’t for the people he had sent, Feng Yi wouldn’t have been tagged as "gang-affiliated."

He himself always valued pomp and momentum, and his subordinates all had that same style, but it obviously didn’t match Feng Yi’s.

When Feng Yi arrived, Uncle Bao personally came to the entrance to receive him.

"Is everything handled over there?" Uncle Bao asked.

"There’s still some cooperation with the investigation needed, but not much else. Have you been very busy lately, Uncle Bao? You look somewhat haggard," Feng Yi said.

Uncle Bao looked like he hadn’t slept well for several days.

"Yeah, people are restless, and it’s not easy to manage the team!"

Uncle Bao walked Feng Yi into the private room and handed over the menu for him to order.

"I’ve seen the discussions online, sigh, this oversight was my mistake, a lack of thorough consideration!"

"I know you meant well, Uncle Bao, no worries. The Alliance Security Bureau will clarify things after the investigation," Feng Yi reassured.

Seeing that Feng Yi didn’t take it too seriously, Uncle Bao said, "Whatever you need in handling this, make sure to tell me, especially about those gang rumors! Getting labeled like that is no good."

"I’m aware." Feng Yi had assigned Yi to monitor the public opinion.

Knowing that Feng Yi had things under control, Uncle Bao didn’t dwell on it further.

"How have you been lately? Your name comes up often online; things seem good?" Uncle Bao asked.

"Not bad, just a lot going on. Is Ya not in N City?"

"No, she’s gone down south for a vacation with her mother and brothers."

Uncle Bao chatted with Feng Yi about family matters. His primary purpose that day was just to have a meal with Feng Yi to strengthen the tenuous kinship between them, without letting anyone else stay, leaving only the two of them in the room.

After talking about family matters for a while, Uncle Bao couldn’t resist turning the topic back to today’s events.

"You really take things lightly. There are gangs in N City, with complex member backgrounds. They might not do anything openly, but you can’t guard against them in secret. You should bring more people when you go out. Even if you’re dealing with people you know, even if you have a very good relationship with them, you shouldn’t come alone to meetings like you did today. Oh, I’m not saying I have any other intentions..."

"I understand, and am aware of your concerns, Uncle Bao," Feng Yi said. "You should also be more cautious."

On the way up earlier, the real emotions of several of Uncle Bao’s subordinates were not the same as they presented.

However, emotional information could only reflect immediate moods, and without knowing the specifics, Feng Yi couldn’t be certain, so he could only offer Uncle Bao a further word of caution.

Hearing Feng Yi’s reminder, Uncle Bao said with a laugh, "You can rest assured, I haven’t been blundering about all these years... cough, that is, there are some things I should explain."

He didn’t want Feng Yi to misunderstand him too much.

"Although I started from a gang, we at the Feng Clan have our own principles. Things were too chaotic back then. We banded together to protect our own friends, family, and neighbors from being bullied. I protected them, and they would welcome me with open arms. I often tell everyone that being tough and fierce is one thing, but being smart and flexible is another. Now, times have changed, and the old ways don’t work anymore."

Without Feng Yi around, Uncle Bao refrained from smoking his cigar.

After sipping some clear tea, he sighed, "Different places, different eras, have different rules."

Feng Yi nodded, "Today someone wanted me to follow his rules, then I used my rules to send him in."

When this subject came up, Uncle Bao thought of the video he saw on his phone today, that person in the wolf fur coat, the embarrassment when the Alliance Security Bureau investigator took him away.

With a chuckle, Uncle Bao said, "Some of the new employees in our company like to bring over those low-end rules, and there are always people who indulge in the delusions of a time of unnatural turmoil.

"That’s why we, the older generation, as managers, need to teach them how to act more civilly, with some manners. How to avoid unnecessary conflicts and survive longer. Money, fame, prison, and the grave, we must teach them what can be touched and what cannot, to protect all that we’ve created. We are not those low-end street thugs!"

"We, the helmsmen, make critical decisions that affect the future careers and prospects of all our employees, determining whether their future will be better or worse."

Uncle Bao recounted his life’s journey partly to dispel certain stereotypes Feng Yi might hold, as he held the Feng Clan in high esteem.

Secondly, he wanted Feng Yi to get a sense of the social environment outside of Hua country, what approaches to use against different types of people, and how to utilize his resources effectively.

Uncle Bao was genuinely worried.

Feng Yi seemed completely at ease, apparently lacking a clear self-awareness!

Sigh, the concern!

How could the housekeeper be at ease?

After finishing the meal, Uncle Bao spent most of the time talking about his life’s journey, while Feng Yi mostly ate.

Looking at the mostly empty plates on the table, Uncle Bao was silent for a good while before he said, "You must have been starving. Do you want some dessert?"

"No, no, that’s alright!" Feng Yi quickly refused.

He could eat more, but that would only make things harder to explain.

Knowing that Feng Yi had matters to attend to after returning, Uncle Bao said, "I’ll have someone drive you back to the hotel."

"No need, my driver drove here," Feng Yi replied.

Uncle Bao glanced outside.
