Chapter 677: Chapter 437: Dad!_2

"Brother, have you taken a liking to anything?" Feng Chi asked. He had only briefly flipped through the offerings in his own room; to him, those items were all the same.

"I’ll take a look at that diamond when the time comes," Feng Yi said.

"The black diamond?" Feng Chi had seen a photo of that particular black uncut diamond in the information booklet and wasn’t impressed.

However, since Feng Yi was interested, Feng Chi would pay more attention to it as well.

"About that black diamond, I’ve heard some news while mingling with them; at least two guests are interested in it, so the bidding is sure to go quite high."

Feng Chi was just giving Feng Yi a heads up—these guests indeed spent money fiercely, and once the atmosphere was fired up, no one would back down.

"I know," Feng Yi said.

If he truly wanted a diamond, it wouldn’t be that difficult; it would just mean taking on some more risks. By comparison, it was worth it to try and acquire it through other means.

Spending money was fine, but if it exceeded his expectations, then there was no need to contend for it.

Moreover, whether this black diamond was the type he was looking for was still uncertain.

"Going out for fun?" Feng Chi asked.

"Going out to have a look."

It was the first time for both brothers to attend such an event by Ming Yao, and both were somewhat curious.

Indeed, no specific "entertainment programs" were arranged for guests, nor were stars or models invited to warm up the scene, but just because the hosts did not make arrangements, it didn’t mean guests couldn’t bring their own companions. There were limits on the number of accompanying personnel, but occupying one or two spots wasn’t an issue for anyone.

There were many leisure areas to choose from, and plenty of options available. Away from the city, in the vast sea, with fewer regulations, there’s all the revelry and debauchery one could desire.

But it wasn’t all like that.

Feng Chi went off to chat and brag with others, while Feng Yi opted to go diving.

A photography-enthusiast guest invited others to go diving, intending to photograph the sea fish. The ship was still en route, and it would be a while before it reached his chosen dive spot.

Someone was in charge of all the preliminary preparations. Those who wanted to participate simply had to say so, and equipment would be efficiently organized.

Feng Yi joined in, but he had to wait two hours before he could dive. After agreeing on a time, he made a round through the restaurant before returning to his room to wait.

Nearly nine floors of the ship were designated for guest accommodation and activity areas.

The restaurant was on the eighth floor, high up with unobstructed views, allowing for good visibility. Around it were extensive outdoor lounging and sightseeing areas.

However, Feng Yi had no interest in sightseeing here. He had his dinner and then went downstairs. As he entered the elevator, three people just happened to come out.

Feng Yi greeted them and passed by.

The elevator doors closed.

The three headed for the restaurant.

"Brother Hua, it seems like Feng Yi isn’t on great terms with the others," a young man said.

"They’re not from the same circle and usually don’t have any interactions; it’s normal that he doesn’t mingle well with everyone. Whatever he thinks, the bottom line is he has the capital to be capricious."

"I think the guests attending Ming Yao’s event are all quite nice. It’s simple to get to know them and make friends," said the young man, who was attending such an event for the first time, with an innocent expression.

"Pfft, simple? Do you feel the atmosphere is friendly, like a spring breeze? It depends on the person and the situation! The more they value the event, the better they disguise themselves. When they couldn’t care less, that’s when they show their true colors. Among the people you spoke with earlier, some might appear very polite and friendly, but when they want to trick you, you’ll be bleeding and not even know why!"

While they were conversing, a commotion erupted from a vista point ahead.

Looking toward the sounds, it was a young couple arguing fiercely, pulling and tugging at each other with sharp voices.

"Brother Hua, should we go over and try to calm them down?" the younger person asked.

"Absolutely not! Stay out of it—standard procedure. Those two have been crazy and causing scenes for years; whoever tries to intervene will be unlucky!"

"Really? Can’t be that bad, can it?"

"Underestimating them, huh? When they go crazy, they can sacrifice you!"

Those two had both family backgrounds and abilities, although they were capricious and had been spoiled by their families for a long time. Behaving a bit crazily at times. Bystanders better not get involved.

After quickly finishing their meal, Brother Hua signaled to his two younger companions, "If I had known, I would have chosen a different place to eat. So unlucky! Let’s go, we’ll find somewhere else to have fun."

They hadn’t walked far when a scream came from behind them.

Some object was thrown out, hit a nearby lounge sofa, bounced off, grazed the railing behind it, and fell over the edge.

"Ahh—"

This time, two screams rang out.

The young man and woman, who were just glaring at each other in anger, now screamed and scrambled frantically toward the railing, seemingly ready to jump down to search for it.

The security guards who rushed over held them tightly.

The pair, pulled back from the brink, turned pale, trembling all over, unable to even stand steady.

Brother Hua muttered to himself, "They didn’t throw the Gong family’s heirloom dragon and phoenix bracelet that’s been passed down for generations during their fight, did they?"

"Dragon and phoenix bracelet?" The young companion asked curiously.

"It’s a family heirloom; they’ve known each other since childhood and got engaged last week. The dragon and phoenix bracelet, given to the bride-to-be, has been flaunted quite a bit lately. It signifies a transfer of some power and wealth, so of course they would show it off, right? I’ve told them before to take care and not to lose it, but they wouldn’t listen! Two lunatics!"

To be passed down for generations, holding such significant meaning, and yet... tossed into the sea!

"They’re dead meat!" Brother Hua’s eyes glinted.

This statement sounded exaggerated, but it wasn’t entirely incorrect.

In this place, once something fell into the sea, it was virtually irretrievable, and salvaging it would come at a great cost.

"Once they get back, their families will beat them half to death! They didn’t care about anything while going mad, but now they are scared!"
