Chapter 593: Chapter 387: The Prime Spot of the Collection Gallery_1

The Yang City branch of the Joint Protection Agency received a call from Feng Yi. Wei Hongxun happened to be free and took on the case.

When Wei Hongxun arrived at the collection gallery, he saw a young man sobbing on the table.

The man was extremely emotional, crying and wailing, "I was wrong! I really shouldn’t have picked it up that night five years ago! If I hadn’t picked it up, I wouldn’t have suffered this emotional trauma!"

Wei Hongxun looked at Feng Yi, his eyes questioning: What’s going on?

Feng Yi shrugged: It’s got nothing to do with me.

Without interrupting A’bin’s emotional outburst, Feng Yi stood up and walked aside to brief Wei Hongxun on the information he had just heard.

Wei Hongxun merely raised his eyebrows slightly. He had investigated many cases and was no stranger to this kind of situation.

Letting A’bin continue to vent for a while, Wei Hongxun looked around. He knew this was Feng Yi’s private collection gallery, and a lot of money must have been poured into establishing it as such, not with profit-making as the goal.

But thinking of the news he had heard these past two days, if Feng Yi were a shareholder of the Ancestral Factory, the money he put in wouldn’t amount to much for him.

A shareholder of the Ancestral Factory, huh...

Truly enviable.

However, now was not the time to chat with Feng Yi.

Wei Hongxun walked over, sat down at the table, and tapped on the surface. As A’bin, tears streaming down, looked up, Wei Hongxun showed his credentials.

"Wei Hongxun, investigator of the Joint Protection Agency, Yang City branch. I’m in charge of this case now."

Hearing "Joint Protection Agency investigator," A’bin’s previously scattered and complex emotions of sadness were frightened away, and he hurriedly wiped his tears and nose with a tissue.

Feng Yi had someone pass two cups of water over.

A’bin calmed down and repeated to Wei Hongxun what he had told Feng Yi, word for word. Since most of it had actually happened, there was no falsity in his emotions, and he was mentally prepared, so there were no inconsistencies in his story.

Wei Hongxun took notes and said, "We need to visit your residence, the place where this lizard is kept, to have a look."

A’bin nodded: "Sure."

He had followed Feng Yi here earlier to explain the situation so as not to attract attention from other residents in the community and to check on the status of his pet lizard.

Now that he had almost finished explaining the situation, taking them to his residence wouldn’t cause any commotion.

However, before they set off, A’bin asked with some concern, "Are you going to take the ’Tyrannosaurus’ away now?"

Wei Hongxun replied, "We will have someone take it back to the station first."

Wei Hongxun had brought two assistant officers with him for the visit, instructing them to capture the lizard.

However, it was not a smooth process.

The lizard was aggressive, assuming an attack stance before anyone could get close.

It puffed up its body, and the flaps of skin hanging from its neck shook furiously like a fan— a sign of aggression.

When someone approached, it slightly opened its mouth, appearing to smile, but it was actually readying an attack.

One of the officers nearly got bitten, but luckily, he was experienced and had quick reflexes.

A’bin explained, "The ’Tyrannosaurus’ is very fierce. It’s more irritable than other individuals of its species. Without gloves and tools, it’s very difficult for me to capture it."

The two officers were about to grab some tools when Feng Yi patted them, signaling for them to step back.

The officers didn’t argue and decisively cleared the space. In terms of expertise, a specialist like Feng Yi should possess superior skills, they assumed.

Under the gaze of the onlookers, Feng Yi approached, ignoring the lizard’s intimidation, and casually yet firmly placed a hand on its head.

The "Tyrannosaurus," which had its mouth open just a moment ago, closed it.

The once-trembling dewlap also stilled.

It became as docile as if it were fake.

"Where’s the cage?" Feng Yi asked.

"Here!" responded an officer, bringing over the cage.

Feng Yi picked up the lizard with one hand and placed it into the cage.

Although the lizard was said to be one and a half meters long, the lengthy tail accounted for most of its length, so the overall weight wasn’t much, just around ten or so pounds. Without its ability to move, anyone present could lift it with one hand.

However, the way Feng Yi brought the animal under control was something no one else could do. Or rather, up until now, no one had managed to replicate it!

A’bin, who had been standing not far away watching, appeared stunned.

He looked utterly baffled:

"What just happened...? Why didn’t it move? Where did its temper go?! Was it really just my fault?! Is it actually tameable?!"

Wei Hongxun seemed relatively composed, "There’s also a possibility that it only behaves this way in the presence of certain special individuals. It has nothing to do with being tame or not."

Having seen Feng Yi catch snakes and being used to his style of handling snakes as if they were ropes, he wasn’t too surprised to see Feng Yi handle the notoriously temperamental lizard as if it were a toy, merely thinking, "Ah, as expected."

A’bin felt consoled, "So it’s not just my problem?"

Wei Hongxun: "No, it’s the irregularities of the world."

A’bin looked at Feng Yi, then recalled the treatment the Joint Protection Agency officers received when they attempted to capture the "Tyrannosaurus," and felt more at ease.

Indeed.

It’s not my problem, it’s the irregularities of the world!

Just as he steadied his emotions and saw the officers carrying the cage outside, A’bin’s gaze followed them.

He asked, "What will you do with it after you take it away? I’ve heard if there are too many and they can’t be sent to a habitat, they will be humanely destroyed?"
