Pan Weining had also noticed it earlier, and guessed again, "Food?"
As he spoke, he turned his gaze to Feng Yi, "Feng Yi, what do you think is inside?"
Feng Yi said, "Medicine?"
"Medicine?"
Pan Weining and Wen Zhiyu were both very surprised.
Pan Weining had no idea when Uncle Wei became interested in medicine, although Uncle Wei had indeed made some related investments, he had not shown a tendency in this area.
Uncle Wei used to prefer eating and playing.
No matter whether it was playing with stones or something else, it was either something Uncle Wei himself liked, or he was just following the trend. His hobbies came quickly and left just as quickly.
"Medicine?" Pan Weining thought for a moment and then nodded, "It’s possible."
Feng Yi smiled and did not say much.
The box that Pan Weining’s uncle was holding was sealed very tightly, not even a trace of scent leaked out.
But!
Even though he didn’t smell it, Feng Yi could still sense what was inside.
It wasn’t because his skills had upgraded, allowing him to detect objects through a thick box regardless of all factors.
Rather, the thing inside was too special.
It was related to him!
Inside it were products made from his venom, that exceptionally expensive, limited edition stuff—[Progenitor Y series].
If it were something else, Feng Yi wouldn’t have been able to sense it.
Whether one could consider it medicine or not, Feng Yi didn’t know, but according to the logic of common guesses, one could only guess it was related to medicine.
The owner’s residential area involved the privacy of the homeowner, so neither Feng Yi nor Wen Zhiyu would go there.
As for Pan Weining, this nephew of his didn’t have so many restrictions. After waiting a while, Pan Weining went upstairs to look for someone.
Uncle Wei had just finished showering and was lounging on the sofa in his home clothes, looking relaxed.
Pan Weining looked around but didn’t see the small box.
It seemed that the new treasure was well placed and put away.
Observing his uncle’s expression, Pan Weining approached and asked, "Uncle, what is your new treasure?"
There were no other people around, Uncle Wei, with his leg raised and showing a bit of pride, countered with a question, "What do you guess?"
"Uh, I guess... food? Medicine?"
When Uncle Wei heard "medicine," the leg he had propped up shook slightly and he said, "To be exact, it’s a very precious research material! I went through a lot of trouble to get it, this much for such a small tube!"
Uncle Wei raised his hand and gestured a number.
As for how many zeros were behind that number, Pan Weining could probably guess.
Pan Weining’s expression changed slightly as he thought of something and drew a[Y]on the coffee table with his finger.
"Is it this?"
"Smart!" Uncle Wei proudly said, "They say it’s hard for private individuals to buy this stuff, I’ve gone through so many connections to get it!"
Pan Weining also showed a smile, "Then, Uncle, you must take good care of it! I heard it’s easy to achieve results in researching it, and as long as it’s about this, a bunch of people are ready with money to invest!"
He knew Uncle Wei had invested in a friend’s laboratory, and although the family didn’t take it seriously before, now it seemed Uncle Wei was serious about it!
Uncle Wei was spirited, "Of course! I’ll definitely protect it! So I don’t plan to stay here long, I’ll leave immediately after spending the night, and hurry to send this stuff to the lab. Otherwise, I can’t be at ease!"
As he spoke, Uncle Wei also complained to Pan Weining, "This thing is troublesome to handle for shipping. I don’t trust shipping, and since there’s nothing else, I’ll personally escort it. I can just drive there. I’m not afraid of being robbed—those two bodyguards I have with me are quite formidable!"
Thinking about his plans, Uncle Wei said, "I won’t be returning to Jing City for the time being, and don’t tell your grandma about this new treasure I’ve acquired."
"Okay, I know how to respond," Pan Weining replied.
Uncle Wei was very satisfied with his nephew, Pan Weining. Among the younger generation, he preferred Pan Weining because he knew how to maintain a balance. He cared, but not excessively, and didn’t pry into people’s thoughts. Even if the elders had instructions, he handled the relationships well.
"Don’t tell others about our investment here either. It’s enough that I’m involved; I don’t want others mixing in," Uncle Wei cautioned.
"I understand."
"When your uncle makes money, I’ll buy you a paintball club!"
"Hey! You’ve said it, I’ve noted it!!"
"When have I ever deceived you! I’ll also give you the key and password to the underground storage later. You’ll probably stay here for a few more days, so take your time to look around."
After discussing the arrangements, Uncle Wei leaned in and asked in a low voice, "Hey, that Feng Yi, what exactly does his family do? I’ve heard quite a bit of gossip about him, but I can’t seem to grasp the essence. Everyone knows what he does on the surface, but where do all his funds come from? Where does he get so much money?"
Pan Weining said, "I don’t know either. Many people are curious about this, but it involves personal privacy, so I shouldn’t ask. However, since he has been recognized and valued by the Joint Guarantee Bureau, he certainly isn’t involved in shady deals."
Uncle Wei nodded, "That’s true. Anyway, with someone like him who keeps a low profile and whose background is unclear but seems very capable, it’s best not to offend him."
"That’s what I think too."
"Alright, let’s go and show your friends my collection!"
Although to Uncle Wei, meteorites were a thing of the past, there was still a sense of achievement in showing them off in front of the younger ones.
Going downstairs, he called Feng Yi and Wen Zhiyu.
Uncle Wei opened a secret door leading to the basement.
The heavy security door swung open.
"Please, these are my collections!"
Uncle Wei walked ahead, turning on the lights and introducing them.
"They’re roughly divided into three categories. Over there are the meteorites, kept just as when they were acquired. Here, you see many pieces that seem imperfect; those are pieces I’ve cut off for my own use. The display cases here no longer contain raw meteorite stones but crafted artifacts. However, most of the artifacts have already been gifted or sold, so there aren’t many left here, mostly just empty cabinets."
Feng Yi, looking at the various meteorites and artifacts before him, said, "It must have taken a great deal of effort to collect so many."
Looking at these meteorites and crafted items, it was clear how obsessed Uncle Wei had once been with meteorites!
Whether it was a fad or a true passion, the time and effort spent on these were certainly substantial. Seeing this, one could even understand his former actions of spending a lot of money on buying houses to store meteorites.
So many stones couldn’t fit in just a small house.
If he also wanted to categorize them according to Pan Weining’s uncle’s requirements, he indeed needed to buy multiple houses.
Uncle Wei said, "Take your time looking. Like I said before, if you fancy anything, just take it to play with! But remember, only one piece per person!"
Feng Yi: "If I’m interested in buying, would you be willing to sell?"
Uncle Wei wasn’t surprised to hear this and chuckled, "Of course! They’re wasted just lying around here anyway. If you decide to buy, the prices will be clear-cut. But since you’re Weining’s friend, I’ll give you a discount, how much, I can’t say for sure, but definitely lower than the market price."
In fact, Uncle Wei couldn’t really remember the original prices of these stones anymore, but he could contact a friend who was still a meteorite hunter to provide a market reference price, and he would offer a discount based on that.
"Go ahead and choose, no rush. We’ll talk once you’ve decided," Uncle Wei said. His focus wasn’t on these items anymore.
Having been worn out from recent travels, Uncle Wei planned to go upstairs to rest.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard Feng Yi say, "Are you willing to part with all of these?"
Uncle Wei turned around: "Which ones?"
Feng Yi gestured to an area, the space that held both whole and halved stones. The area Feng Yi indicated was roughly two-thirds of the entire warehouse, with the remaining third being the section with the display cabinets for the crafted items.
Uncle Wei: "Sure! Like I said, you can pick anything in this warehouse. I’m willing to let go of it all!"
Feng Yi: "Then I’ll take them all."
Uncle Wei: ???
After a pause, Uncle Wei asked, "Is it what I think you mean?"
Feng Yi nodded, "If you’re willing to sell, I’ll take them all."
