Chapter 449: Chapter 310: Standing at the Wind’s Mouth, Even Pigs Will Fly_2

If the battery in this little gadget runs out, I still have to contact someone over there to buy a new one. The battery inside is particularly expensive, and they keep tight control on it; every time I need to buy one, I have to contact a specific person, otherwise, I won’t be able to purchase it.

Because every part of this gadget is so valuable, he always took good care of it, even bringing it with him when he traveled far.

He had secretly sought out experts to study it, but they couldn’t figure out how it worked. If he wanted to continue the research, he would have to spend a lot of money, and there was no guarantee they would achieve any results.

In the end, he had no choice but to give up.

Uncle Bao wondered: Could this be "legitimate" technological secrecy?

Feng Yi listened as Uncle Bao recounted his experiences of asking their grandmother for the tool, as well as the several occasions of buying batteries.

The material company owned by their grandmother had now become a large group, inherited by his elder female cousin. Wu had mentioned that rock coating was being researched by that company, and they had achieved many results.

Before, he only knew that his cousin’s company was researching rock coating, but now, hearing what Uncle Bao said, could it be possible that the company was also researching coin coating?

Next time he saw his elder female cousin, he could ask her—perhaps he might improve the methods to preserve coins and meteorites?

As Feng Yi pondered with furrowed brows, Uncle Bao observed him.

Perhaps it was the effect of the "legitimate" filter, but Uncle Bao felt that Feng Yi seemed more imposing today than when he was at the ancestral hall, appearing enigmatic and profound.

"Do you possess the only identification tool like this, Uncle Bao, or do other family members have it as well?" Feng Yi asked.

"I don’t know. I haven’t told other family members about it, nor have I seen anyone else use it. As for whether they have it privately, that I wouldn’t know," Uncle Bao replied.

While Feng Yi and Uncle Bao conversed, the little girl sat obediently beside them, quietly eating snacks and drinking tea.

Feng Yi thought that a child of her age might get bored sitting there for so long, especially since there were no toys suitable for children around. He asked:

"Ya, would you like to take a stroll in the courtyard? There are some flowers in bloom that are quite nice, and we also have koi in the landscape pond."

As soon as koi were mentioned, Uncle Bao remembered and immediately said, "I noticed that the koi in your pond seem especially plump. May I take one back with me?" He always used the word "please" when asking for items nurtured in such auspicious places.

"Of course. Whichever one you like, just scoop it up. There are tools for that," Feng Yi said.

Uncle Bao beckoned his daughter: "Ya, you pick one. Dad trusts your judgment!"

Feng Yi and Uncle Bao continued their conversation in the living room, while Bing took the little girl to the landscape pond.

Seeing it once more, she was still amazed.

"What do they eat to get so big?" the little girl asked.

"They eat feed, which I prepare myself. You can take a jar with you when you leave."

Bing brought the tools and continued:

"These koi have a strong vitality. As long as they don’t suddenly move to extreme conditions, they generally thrive well. The requirements for the feed aren’t that high."

After caring for these koi for so long, Bing had come to understand them and knew that their growth wasn’t solely due to the feed. Yet some things needed to be clearly stated beforehand to give the little visitor a clear picture.

"Once they leave this environment, they’ll enter an adjustment period and gradually slim down. But don’t worry, their health won’t be affected."

"Can I catch one myself?" the little girl asked.

"Of course. But these fish are quite lively; they’re not easy to catch," Bing said.

When Feng Yi had bought them, they were very small. It’s been less than a year, and they were bigger than other koi of the same age, but not by much, each about fifteen centimeters long. However, they’ve developed more width-wise, making them look "prosperous."

For adults, catching fish of this size is not difficult.

But for a seven or eight-year-old child, that’s a bit more challenging.

The little girl was initially confident, but she quickly realized the error of "judging fish by their appearance."

From a distance, watching them swim leisurely in the pond, she thought they were rather slow and clumsy.

It was only when she actually started to try to catch one with the net did she appreciate the difficulty.

She had her eye on one and moved the net towards it. Just as the net was about to leave the water, the koi powerfully leaped out of the net, quickly swimming away in the water.

"They’re so agile!" the little girl exclaimed in surprise.

The jumping and dodging entirely belied their corpulent forms!

By the time she finally managed to catch one, Uncle Bao had finished his conversation. He even presented Feng Yi with a super VIP card, offering some conveniences at his invested hotel.

Since this was their first visit, they hadn’t planned to stay long.

Leaving behind a gift, the father and daughter duo returned home with a plump koi, feeling satisfied.

For a first visit, they didn’t expect to become very close to Feng Yi, but they were already quite happy with the outcome.

Relationships, after all, deepen through frequent interaction and contact. In this regard, one can’t be thin-skinned!

Sitting in the car, they drove away from the estate.

Looking back at the receding house and recalling all the thriving plants in the yard, as well as the round and lively koi, Uncle Bao remarked:

"I should have realized earlier. This place is a feng shui treasure!"

During the abnormal climate period, the villa community next to Cui Lake was already well-known; everyone said it had good feng shui and was a great place to live, even attracting wildlife to the area.

The large estate purchased by Sister Wei wasn’t passed down to her own children but was given to Feng Yi instead.

Feng Yi was Old Man Feng’s own grandson from Yang City’s Feng Family; even though he was expelled from the family, that didn’t change his origins.

Old Man Feng was on the opposing side of the fourth sister!

When Uncle Bao first learned that Feng Yi lived here, he speculated whether Sister Wei gifted him the house because she knew Feng Yi had a bad relationship with the old man.
