Chapter 434: Chapter 302: Differential Treatment_3
Feng Yi: "On the way, almost there."
For an ordinary social gathering, even being late for some reason wouldn’t cause much of a fuss.
But for ancestral worship ceremonies, there is an "auspicious time."
Some people may think being a bit late doesn’t matter, but Old Man Feng takes this very seriously and is strict about these matters.
Once the "auspicious time" arrives, regardless of whether everyone has arrived, the ceremony will begin.
Feng Chi: "I heard the time was specially calculated by a master, but I think he did consult a master, yet he probably set this time considering multiple factors, like the schedules and living habits of certain important guests who wouldn’t make it if it was too early."
Feng Yi: "Yeah, like Uncle Zhen, who is probably going to be about ten minutes later than me [laughs]. I mentioned you when I messaged Uncle Zhen earlier; he said he wants to have a chat with you when there’s a chance."
Feng Chi immediately burst into laughter: "Hehehe, my dear brother!"
Knowing Uncle’s attitude made Feng Chi happy, and he thought about performing well when the time came.
Feng Chi: "It’s a pity I didn’t get approved as the drummer for the lion dance team, they found me not professional enough, not perfectly in sync. Otherwise, I would definitely play a piece for Uncle!"
While chatting with Feng Yi through messages, Feng Chi strolled around.
Hearing some noise, Feng Chi looked up.
Not far ahead stood a little girl about seven or eight years old, wearing an ancient-style dress, her hair braided in pigtails. In her hand was a thin wooden pole with a brown wicker lantern about the size of a chicken egg tied to the front end.
It was woven with fresh palm leaves and seemed to have been made recently; its color was still bright.
Feng Chi: "There’s a very cute little sister among our relatives!"
"I won’t send a picture; you can see her when you come over here."
Before coming here, his father had told him not to randomly take pictures of the guests to avoid provoking people they shouldn’t.
Having encountered the annoyance of being photographed without permission in the entertainment industry, Feng Chi, of course, wouldn’t take pictures of others without permission.
More noise, and Feng Chi looked over.
A little boy, slightly taller than the girl, came forward, pulling her braids and trying to snatch the wicker lantern from her hand.
Feng Chi was about to step in to stop it.
When suddenly—
The little girl set the lantern aside, rushed over, and delivered two thumping punches, knocking the little boy to the ground.
In that instant, Feng Chi felt that this cute-looking relative’s little sister was as sturdy as an ox.
She clearly had training!
The angles at which she hammered were particularly well-considered!
The security personnel responsible for the area quickly approached and carried away the little boy, who was bawling on the ground.
Feng Chi looked toward the standing little girl, opened his mouth, wanting to say something.
But the girl turned around with an expressionless face.
For her age, she had a fierce presence and barked in a gruff voice, "What are you looking at?!"
Feng Chi: "Sorry for the disturbance!"
He quickly changed course and scooted away.
He suspected if he continued looking, she might come over to thump him too.
It wasn’t that he was afraid, but there was no point in fussing with a little kid, who probably wasn’t in the best of moods.
Better let it go, no point in being disliked.
My handsome face seems to have failed me!
Meanwhile, Feng Yi’s car progressed along the newly constructed roadway.
At an intersection, a security officer stopped the car: "Please show the invitation."
Upon seeing the license plate, the officer was already mentally prepared.
When the car window rolled down, there was no need to check the invitation; the identity of the person inside could be confirmed without it.
This was also one of the individuals who had been instructed from above to pay special attention to.
"Please proceed this way, continue along this road, and you will find signs guiding you to the parking area."
As the car drove off, the security officer reported in on his phone.
Feng Yi didn’t pay attention to the attitude of the security personnel, arriving at the site of the ancestral hall, he took a look around.
Too many complicated emotional signals, Feng Yi didn’t want to start by receiving so much interference. He switched to blocking mode to avoid the disruptions, moving among the crowd like a typical person.
A small green woven lantern rolled over to him.
Feng Yi bent down to pick it up, took a few steps forward, and handed it to a little girl standing nearby.
The girl only had a bare lantern pole in her hand—the lantern had fallen from there.
The girl with the lantern pole, looking at Feng Yi, slowly blushed.
She took the woven lantern, thanked him in a soft voice, "Thank you, brother."
An arriving Feng Chi: ???
Little sister, this is obvious favoritism!
