Chapter 360: Chapter 262: Outstanding Individual Image_2

Feng Chi: "People are still discussing how to borrow your car. Even if your car locator is just a toy, it’s the perfect toy for us! Who wouldn’t want it?"

I only found out today how hard that toy is to get. Otherwise, someone would have shown it off by now.

Feng Yi asked, "Did you tell them you could borrow it?"

Feng Chi: "I didn’t tell them! Hee hee hee!"

Previously, Feng Yi had promised that he would lend his car for Feng Chi’s first variety show appearance to be used as a prop.

"Anyway, they’ll find out in a few days." Feng Chi still wanted to give them a surprise.

"Bro, once I buy that convertible with my own money, I’ll take you to the club for some fun! Or should we find a quiet place on our own?"

"Find a quiet place."

"All right! While we’re still young, we should enjoy driving a convertible. Even if the wind messes up our hair, a casual swipe through it can still support our good looks!"

"I wish you good luck."

Feng Chi continued to update Feng Yi on the Feng Family’s situation.

Their family had loosened the reins and was autonomously developing quite smoothly on the whole, especially Feng Chi’s mom’s side, which was raking in money every day.

They were not as rigid as Feng Yi and didn’t face off directly against the old man. Feng Chi’s dad knew the old man’s temper well; after so many years of ’parental kindness and filial piety’, they had temporarily managed to keep the old man placated.

"In short, now is the time for low-key development," Feng Chi said.

"And you’re still borrowing my car?" Feng Yi asked.

"My dad says that we have to prick that old man from time to time. It won’t affect our discreet growth plan." Feng Chi didn’t quite understand it himself; he just listened to his dad on this matter.

"Okay, as long as you know what you’re doing."

After finishing the call with Feng Chi, Feng Yi walked into the restroom and looked in the mirror, lifting his bangs and scrutinizing his hairline for a while.

For now, he didn’t see any signs of it receding.

When Feng Yi got in touch with Geng from the Ancestral Factory about the research in the core and sub-laboratories, he inquired a bit more.

Geng thought to himself, could the behind-the-scenes boss be dissatisfied with the current rate of making money?

After responding to Feng Yi’s questions, Geng reassuringly said,

"The core achievements are still only in the experimental phase, and it takes more than a short time for a drug to go from research and development to approval. When they truly begin to sell, that’s when we will make a huge profit."

Feng Yi knew he had misunderstood. The Ancestral Factory was already a massive money-making machine. He only needed to provide venom on time; he didn’t have to worry about anything else, so where would dissatisfaction come from?

"I know. I just wanted to ask if the Ancestral Factory’s laboratories are researching hair growth products?"

Geng paused for a moment, "Some people are researching, but progress is slow. However, hair removal is progressing swiftly."

Feng Yi: "...Okay, then."

Geng tentatively said, "You shouldn’t have this need."

Feng Yi ran his fingers through his hair: "Not for the time being."

Remembering Feng Chi’s words, Feng Yi then asked Geng if the beauty and skincare raw materials produced on that subline could cause hair loss when used in face masks?

Geng confidently said, "No! Our market research hasn’t identified any such instances."

Feng Yi understood.

It must be something related to Feng Chi himself. It seems he’s under a lot of stress.

After two days of rest, Feng Yi began preparing for the "Guardian’s" award ceremony.

This event was being held in Yang City, which was even more convenient for Feng Yi. Being close by meant he didn’t need to stay at a hotel even if he had to take part in rehearsals.

The ceremony was scheduled for eight o’clock that evening and would be broadcasted live on the official television channel and online.

Regarding this, the butler had made preparations well in advance, selecting clothing, shoes, and various small accessories with a clear purpose.

The attire wasn’t ostentatious but modestly and appropriately restrained. It shouldn’t make him seem flashy nor too dull.

Many respected giants in the scientific community were attending the ceremony, and Feng Yi just needed to be a well-behaved "little friend."

On the day of the award, Feng Yi arrived at the venue ahead of time.

While the ceremony didn’t have much pomp and pageantry with red carpet events, it did provide the distinguished guests with opportunities to mingle. With conversations ranging widely, these busy individuals rarely had a chance to gather together, and a single topic could spark an intensely professional debate.

Back then, Feng Yi didn’t understand any of those professional terms and theories. Now, he could grasp a little bit.

Steve was also there, but he didn’t have much time to talk to Feng Yi. Barely getting started, Steve was pulled away by his old friends. Steve had to take this opportunity to garner more support for his future conservation institute, to avoid any unexpected bureaucratic hurdles.

Feng Yi also spotted Professor Zhou and Professor Zhu from the Nan Chong scientific expedition team he knew.

Professor Zhou was planning to take a group of students to the Nan Chong mountain ranges this summer and asked if Feng Yi wanted to join.

Feng Yi apologetically said, "I’m afraid I can’t. I have a mission."

After the sea snake mission concluded, the mission team leader had mentioned that new assignments might come his way soon, advising him not to make other plans for the time being.

Professor Zhou nodded understandingly and patted Feng Yi encouragingly on the shoulder, "That’s right, you’re an expert with the Union Protection Bureau now. You don’t have much free time. Do well!"

Being on a mission meant you were doing well.

If a Union Protection Bureau expert was healthy and had plenty of free time, it meant he wasn’t far from being kicked out.

"You’ve got everything ready for this award ceremony, right? The thank-you speech and the auction items?" Professor Zhou asked.

"I’ve got it all ready," Feng Yi said.

The thank-you speech was just a few sentences.
