Chapter 336: Chapter 251 National Service Number One, That’s All - 2

Feng Chi’s mother, as one of the successful clients, also got a batch of goods.

A week later, Feng Yi took a vacation.

In the area around Xiao Feng Mountain, several manufacturers had moved away, and the big warehouse was also looking for someone to take over. Feng Yi’s collection gallery was one of the manufacturer’s own warehouses, which had a large floor area suitable for placing large-scale models.

However, to actually see the collection gallery, there would be a wait, as today was just the groundbreaking ceremony.

As a butler who similarly valued ceremony, he made a special trip to attend the event, dressed quite formally, claiming he wanted to collect the first shovelful of dirt that Feng Yi dug up.

Today, Steve also came by. He was establishing a protection agency with its location also on Xiao Feng Mountain, and when he learned from chatting with Feng Yi about the groundbreaking ceremony happening today, he decided to come and observe. In a little while, his own event would take place.

Feng Chi had arrived early too, driving an off-roader, and he took a large cockerel from the trunk, its feet bound together.

"What’s this?" Feng Yi asked.

"I saw other construction ceremonies where they’d slaughter a chicken, and I heard some people do it before launching yachts too. A friend of mine went to a farmhouse for fun a couple of days ago, and I had him livestream it so I could pick out a big cockerel," Feng Chi said.

"Is that so?" Feng Yi had never paid attention to this before.

"As the old saying goes, ’No two places share the same customs within ten miles.’ I wasn’t sure if your place observed this, but I think it’s a good custom to uphold! When do we start? Let’s eat it right after the ceremony! This chicken is really tasty!"

While speaking, Feng Chi shook the cockerel in his hands, nearly getting slapped by its wings.

Feng Yi: "..."

Alright then.

He asked the construction crew, and someone knew how to perform the chicken-slaughtering ritual.

The auspicious moment was entirely chosen by Feng Yi with his eyes closed.

After the ceremony, the cockerel was taken to a nearby restaurant to be prepared, as requested by Feng Chi.

The butler carefully bottled the first shovelful of earth that Feng Yi had dug up in a beautiful jar.

With the ceremony concluded and the chicken taken away for preparation, Feng Chi went to check on his "Ancient Giant Snake."

The "Ancient Giant Snake" model, which had been despised by the elder and which he had been forced to move out of the house, was now quietly residing in the large warehouse that Feng Yi had rented.

Steve chuckled upon seeing it: "It’s done quite well, huh? Was that the model reported on the news; yours?"

Feng Chi said with emotion, "It’s mine, but sadly I couldn’t keep it at my place, so I had to put it here with my brother for now."

Steve looked around the warehouse a bit. He wasn’t too interested in Transformers, and after his initial curiosity wore off, he stopped paying much attention and instead focused on a model of a banded krait.

"Feng Yi, who made this model? It’s incredibly lifelike!"

"I found a model maker. I had him make up a banded krait first, and I was very satisfied with the result, so I let him continue making other snakes. You looking to contact him?" Feng Yi asked.

"No need for models at the moment, but let’s add each other as contacts. I might need something in the future," Steve said.

Feng Yi sent Steve the model maker’s electronic business card.

Steve added, "By the way, you don’t need to ask him to make a Burmese python model for you. I’ve secured a six-meter Burmese python model for you from the research base, and I’ll send it over once your place is ready. I was thinking about getting a real specimen, but the base told me that private collection of such large python specimens is not allowed anymore, so they only made a 1:1 model."

Last time when Feng Yi had helped out with a TV program without asking for a reward, Steve knew he was building a personal collection gallery and thought about securing a large specimen or model for him. Having already arranged it with the research base, he was mentioning it to Feng Yi now.

"A model is great, thanks!" Feng Yi said.

Models of this size were not so easy to come by. The spec for the research base’s models was that museum-grade realism that could fool you

The corner of Feng Chi’s eye had been stuck on the coveted Transformers, but when he heard the conversation, he too came over.

"Wow, this snake!"

Feng Chi reached out to give it a squeeze.

"It’s a fake!"

Satisfied with his inspection of the banded krait.

This model was definitely made with better materials compared to his "Ancient Giant Snake," more of a fine art piece; his was only good for scaring people at night, not nearly as realistic in the daylight.

"Making snake models so realistic can have its downsides too," Feng Chi said.

"What downsides?" Feng Yi asked.

"For instance, if someone were to be malicious and put a real snake alongside the model, wouldn’t you guys mistake one for the other?"

At Feng Chi’s question, Steve and Feng Yi, along with Yi and the others nearby, said in unison:

"No way!"

Feng Chi: "...fine, fine."

After a while, Feng Chi asked another question, "I’ve heard the banded krait is called the ’king of Chinese servers.’ Why is it considered number one in the country?"

Steve explained, "Its venom is very potent, and it has a wide range. Even if there are snakes with venom that can match it, they are much fewer in terms of distribution and numbers. All things considered, it currently ranks number one among terrestrial snakes in the country."

"What does it feel like to be bitten by it?" Feng Chi was curious.

"There might be a tingling sensation at first since you were bitten. Then the sense of pain will disappear because its venom is a neurotoxin. Symptoms like difficulty swallowing, blurred vision, limb weakness, and excessive sleepiness are all possible."

"That’s so badass!"

For some reason, Feng Chi suddenly remembered the actor who suffered from neurasthenia and fell asleep at the party after applying a face mask.

Feng Chi had no idea why such associations came to him.

It must be because I’ve had too many classes lately, causing my imagination to run wild!

He laughed it off and dismissed those strange thoughts.

"So, bro, are you using this warehouse to store your models until the museum is ready?" Feng Chi asked.

"Yeah, that’s the plan."

Feng Chi said, "Then when you’re getting somebody to make the models, don’t forget the one with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a snake."

Everyone around them, including Yi and the silent butler, looked at him all at once.

Unaware, Feng Chi continued, "I’m talking about the super cool picture I Photoshopped for you!"

Yi, the butler, and everyone else turned to Feng Yi.

Feng Yi kept his composure, "Oh, that picture you Photoshopped was too ugly. I’ll have someone draw a nicer one and make it from that."

Feng Chi: "Ying... Bro, you’re dissing me!"

Feng Yi: "Do you or do you not want to play with the transformer?"

Feng Chi: "I do!"

Then he followed Feng Yi gleefully.

This area was deserted, with mostly warehouses and construction sites, and some people were testing drones on the road ahead.

Instead of driving on the main road, Feng Chi drove around the cement road outside the construction site of Feng Yi’s museum with that car.

Worried about attracting too much attention outside, they drove the car back to the warehouse to admire its transformation indoors.

The warehouse’s ceiling was high enough, and since it wasn’t filled with anything, the spacious room meant there were no issues with the car transforming.

Watching the cool-looking car turn into a formidable robot, Feng Chi’s eyes sparkled:

"Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool!"

After playing with it for a while, and upon hearing that Feng Yi planned to store the car in the warehouse, Feng Chi said:

"Bro, you’re just going to leave it here? Aren’t you afraid of theft? Let’s make a deal: Can I borrow your ’Cobra’ for my next variety show appearance to make a splash?"

Feng Yi nodded, "Sure, just be careful not to break it."

"Definitely!"

Feng Chi continued to play and partly listened to Feng Yi and Yi’s conversation.

Yi: "This rented warehouse isn’t bad. Why not just buy it? The museum will take time to build, and even when it’s done, you’ll still need a warehouse for storage. If you plan to keep valuable items here later, owning it would be more secure, allowing you to customize and add a security system."

Feng Yi thought about the recent deposit in his bank account and nodded, "Okay, as long as it’s not too much over the estimate you gave me, we’ll buy it."

Feng Chi: "..."

My brother, it seems, is not short on cash.

He turned his attention back to the car in front of him.

Loved it too much!

Wanted to show off!

Wanted to take photos and post them on social media!

But to keep the impact for his first variety show, he couldn’t expose it so soon.

Feeling restless, and after some thought, Feng Chi went over to the silver ring snake model and asked Feng Yi, "Bro, can I take a photo with this one?"

"Sure."

"What’s the proper way to hold a silver ring snake? How did you catch it?"

After a pause, Feng Yi said, "...the standard way."

Steve, standing aside, wanted to say something but held back.

To this day, the image was still vivid in his mind—Feng Yi biting on the tail of a silver ring snake to retrieve his phone.

Feng Chi believed Feng Yi’s "standard way" and imitated the gesture shown by Feng Yi to grab the model and take a photo to post on social media.

"The number one player in the Chinese server is just so-so! [Picture]"
