Chapter 314: Chapter 235 This Snake is Hypocritical_1
Host She stumbled backward several steps to steady himself after the force of the pull during the recent drag.
If no one had grabbed him just now, a python would have bitten his face by now.
Host She, pale and with a lingering fear, glanced at the retreating python and then turned to look at the person who had pulled him.
He hadn’t paid attention earlier and didn’t know when two more people had appeared here.
Both of them had passes, indicating they were allowed by the park, but they were not from their internal team.
Supervisors?
"Assistant Wu?" one of the other staff members recognized Assistant Wu.
Assistant Wu, with a polite smile on his face, greeted them.
Host She then understood.
Although he hadn’t met Assistant Wu before, he had heard his colleagues talk about his identity.
However, his attention was not on Assistant Wu but rather the person next to Assistant Wu.
It was this person with sunglasses who had pulled him just now.
He looked familiar.
Sunglasses, hat, the face not clear, but Host She quickly matched a name in his mind.
"Feng... Feng Yi?" Host She tentatively said.
Due to the recent blunder, Host She’s cell phone camera was pointing at the floor, but one could hear the voice.
As the incident happened suddenly, the live stream viewers were still discussing the thrilling moment or mocking the host, but now, upon hearing a certain keyword, they immediately changed their focus—
[Did I just hear "Feng Yi"?]
[Is it him? Could it be Brother Se!]
[Turn the camera around! Turn it around!!]
Not just in the live stream, but also the staff at the wildlife park were quite surprised to see Feng Yi. They had received no prior news of his arrival.
They exchanged glances with each other, and some even silently took out their phones to exchange information with text.
Feng Yi had actually come!
Was he there to participate in the variety show recording next door, or was it for something else?
The assistant following Steve must be with Steve too, right?
Assistant Wu stepped forward and explained, "Feng Yi was invited by Steve to help out."
Regardless of what they were thinking internally, everyone’s faces showed an attitude of "Oh, okay, okay," "Thanks for the hard work."
Host She, feeling excited yet also embarrassed about the earlier scene that made him lose face, was feeling a mixture of emotions. However, he quickly adjusted his expression and thanked Feng Yi:
"Thank you for just now!"
He had avoided a disfigurement crisis.
Feng Yi gave a slight nod but didn’t say much. If he really spoke, he estimated he would not be able to refrain from scolding the other for his life-risking behavior just now.
However, the wildlife park’s staff would handle their own, and Feng Yi had tasks for today.
Looking at the big containers with the pythons, Feng Yi asked, "Haven’t you started moving them yet?"
"Er... just about to start," one of the staff replied.
"Then let’s begin," said Feng Yi.
"Alright."
Three staff members approached cautiously.
Because of the recent attack on Host She, they were much more cautious, their expressions growing even more serious.
To move them, they first had to remove the one with the bad temper.
But after its aggressive behavior just now, the three of them were quite wary and did not immediately act; they needed to think carefully. For safety, should they get some tools?
Feng Yi watched them for a while and said, "I’ll handle this one."
The three staff members immediately stepped back, "Oh! Please, after you!"
"Please be careful; this one’s quite aggressive," they warned.
Host She watched from the side with a complicated expression.
Based on his live streaming experience, he could already imagine how the online audience was mocking him. Add Feng Yi into the mix...
It wasn’t a solution to keep avoiding it. Host She, steeling himself, raised his phone to let the viewers see that he had not been bitten by the python, that his face was intact, and that he had safely survived the crisis.
A quick scan of the screen did indeed reveal a string of comments about "Little She" and such.
It used to be "Brother She," and now it had become "Little She"!
So realistic!
Host She forced a smile, "Actually just now I..."
[Don’t talk!]
[Step aside, I want to watch Brother Se handle snakes!]
[Turn the camera that way, turn it!]
[Aim the lens!]
Initially planning to save some face, Host She fell silent upon seeing the rolling comments on the screen and the sudden outburst of donation effects.
Without uttering a word, though, his hands deftly adjusted the angle, aiming the lens at the target person.
There’s a time to keep quiet, especially when the big-shot patrons are around.
Nevertheless, Host She had some ideas of his own. He planned to take this opportunity to learn a trick or two.
Handing the phone to Assistant Wu next to him to keep filming, Host She clipped the lapel microphone onto his collar and studied how Feng Yi caught snakes while interacting with the live audience.
Over here, Feng Yi approached the large box holding the snakes.
His target was that tempestuous python, but he didn’t go straight for grabbing its head or neck.
After looking, Feng Yi reached out his hand towards it.
That hot-tempered python, however, seemed to suddenly calm down, showing none of the tense, ready-to-attack posture it had earlier.
Flickering its tongue, it inched closer.
Then, it started climbing up Feng Yi’s hand, arm, and onto his shoulder.
The close-by park employees held their breath; someone wanted to say something but feared startling the python. Unable to contain themselves, they resorted to chatting in the group chat.
They were genuinely concerned that the ill-tempered python might suddenly bite Feng Yi, and at such a close distance, there was no avoiding it.
But in reality, at this moment, Feng Yi felt no intent to attack from the python.
The impression this snake gave him wasn’t that it was inherently vicious; it was just rather sensitive and would overreact to unfamiliar scents, perceiving them as threats.
Moreover, being directly transported to a completely unfamiliar place today only added anxiety and irritability to it, causing it to view any unfamiliar presence as a threat. And on encountering someone deliberately provoking it, it would lash out fiercely.
Feng Yi completely concealed his presence, even slightly altering his body temperature, so much so that in the python’s thermal sensing, Feng Yi barely registered as a "living creature."
Feng Yi waited for it to move on its own.
But as he waited, he noticed it still looking around.
It took its sweet time to climb along Feng Yi’s arm to his shoulder and then around his neck.
Feng Yi reached out to grab a section of it and draped it over his neck, then with one more pull, most of the five-meter-long python was hanging from his body.
"Where’s its enclosure?" Feng Yi asked.
"Ah? Oh, this way! Shall I help you? A python of this size is quite heavy," one of the staff members snapped back to reality and said.
"No need, just lead me to the enclosure."
"Alright. But be careful it doesn’t squeeze your neck. That position you’re in... it’s a bit risky."
"I know, it’s fine."
With a large portion of the python’s body hanging from him, as Feng Yi moved, the python’s tail dragged out of the box and trailed on the ground.
However, the python didn’t seem to mind the contact of its tail on the ground; it even raised a section of its head as if it were a branch, stretching diagonally upwards, flickering its tongue to sense the surrounding environment.
Feng Yi ignored the snake’s curiosity and quietly played the role of a mover, transporting it to its designated enclosure.
Host She, observing from a distance, kept his focus on Feng Yi’s actions.
He felt a twinge of disappointment.
He had thought Feng Yi would use some technical method to wrangle the fierce python, to subdue its temperament. But from what he could see, there was hardly any technique involved.
Is this it?
His eyelid twitched,
He had wanted to learn a few techniques, but how could he discern any technique in this?
Anyone who witnessed what Feng Yi did with the snake would think: I could do that too!
It wasn’t jealousy; it was simply devoid of any expert technique!
Yet, it was precisely this seemingly untechnical approach that made that damn python so cooperative!!
He suspected the snake played favorites!
Aren’t snakes said to be mostly brainless fools?
Aside from a few species and individual snakes with a slightly higher IQ, the rest mostly act on instinct.
Retics aren’t that smart.
But that blatant double standard just now!
It was so defensive around him, always in a stance ready to attack.
Yet completely different with Feng Yi, as docile as a toy!
Both their first meetings, why the different treatment?
