Chapter 308: Chapter 232 She’s So Beautiful_1
The green python in the bathtub’s curiosity didn’t last long; it soon settled down, seemingly unwilling to move.
"Nini sweetheart, keep resting." Steve then left with Feng Yi.
Nini was the name of this five-meter-long green python.
Wu Huan’s face showed an indescribable expression.
The name sounded affectionate and cute when called out, but placed on such a large Shin snake, he couldn’t accept it!
Steve was clearly very happy with the name and didn’t care what others thought, continuing, "She has only been here for a couple of days. Let her get used to it first. I’ve modified the landscape pond in the backyard, and after doing the final cleaning today, we can move her there. She will be more comfortable."
"There’s another one too? The ’two girls’ you mentioned?" Feng Yi asked.
Wu Huan, who was about to leave with a drill in hand, paused and turned back.
It was like waiting for the other shoe to drop; he needed that sense of completion to feel at ease, or he’d keep thinking about it.
"There’s a second one? Is it also one of those inside?" Wu Huan asked.
"Of course not!" Steve, enthusiastic, beckoned Feng Yi, "Come, let me introduce you to a super beautiful girl, definitely beyond your imagination!"
Feng Yi returned a polite smile.
Unlike Feng Yi’s composure, Wu Huan’s eyes were already sparkling with curiosity.
Setting the drill aside and clapping his hands, Wu Huan urged Steve, "What are we waiting for? Let’s go, quickly! Show me just how beautiful she is!"
Having prepared himself mentally and having known Steve for years, Wu Huan felt brave enough to face venomous snakes and pythons as long as his personal safety was guaranteed, and a powerhouse was nearby.
Excessive curiosity also required courage to support it!
But when it came to snakes, he’d still chicken out.
Steve led the way, with Wu Huan closely following, and Feng Yi trailing behind them.
Walking between the two snake catchers, Wu Huan felt especially safe. He wasn’t worried about pythons blocking the way ahead or giant snakes ambushing from behind.
Smart!
Feng Yi wasn’t concerned with Wu Huan’s cautious thoughts; he followed them to the backyard, in front of a small greenhouse.
The small greenhouse made of glass and wood wasn’t very large, but it looked quite charming from the outside.
"I had professionals clean up and readjust the greenhouse before I brought her here," Steve said.
Feng Yi noted that the greenhouse had undergone quite a few changes and now included a small pond, "Are you really planning to buy this house?"
"Of course! I’m not just talking. I really mean it. I’ve already discussed it with the previous homeowner, and I wouldn’t have made such big changes without his consent."
Steve’s residence wasn’t here, but housing restrictions didn’t affect him much since he had a talent green channel, making buying a house more convenient. He had applied for it a year in advance.
While speaking, Steve opened the door to the greenhouse.
"She’s inside."
Feng Yi didn’t need to look around; he directly fixed his gaze on one spot.
The large black python rested against the wooden wall on one side, curled up in the corner.
A ray of sunlight penetrated the glass and vines, reflecting dazzling colors on the black scales.
"Is this the legendary ’Five-Colored Splendid Black’?" Wu Huan gaped at the doorway, staring in that direction.
Steve was also obsessed, "The first time I saw her, a verse instantly flashed in my mind: ’There is a beauty, unforgettable at first sight. A day without seeing her feels like madness.’ Wow, she is just too beautiful!"
Feng Yi: "..."
While he didn’t quite share Steve’s obsession, the black python with its natural iridescence was indeed beautiful.
Even Wu Huan, who had just been afraid to enter the greenhouse, took two steps inside, captivated.
Sensing the presence of strangers, the black python turned its head to look in their direction.
Wu Huan, who had just stepped in, backed out again.
"That head of hers is still a bit scary, haha." Wu Huan focused his gaze only on the python’s body, not daring to look at the head.
The Black Gold Child, a variant of the reticulated python, was mostly black with distinct reticulated patterns on its head.
No matter the variation, in general, reticulated pythons tend to be more temperamental.
This Black Gold Child was roughly the same length as the green python, but it gave off a different visual impression.
Finally snapping out of his trance, Steve still stared in that direction, "Unlike Nini’s adorable and naive charm, she’s a bit temperamental, and being new to the place, she might be a little more irritable."
Whether she was irritable or not, Wu Huan didn’t know; all he knew was that he could no longer look at the word "adorable" the same way!
Adorable?
The five-meter creature that could easily strangle a grown man, the renowned and fierce Shin snake?
How thick of a filter did one need to have such a thought?!
Until now, Wu Huan had reserved the word "adorable" only for giant pandas.
Wu Huan shuffled carefully up to Feng Yi and whispered, "Do you think, that Shin snake from before, is it ’adorable’?"
Feng Yi hesitated, "A little, I guess."
Wu Huan’s mouth hung open; he didn’t know what to say and just stared steadily at Feng Yi, "Are all you snake catchers like this?"
Feng Yi thought for a moment, then explained, "That green anaconda might look a bit frightening, but actually, it has a decent temperament. Just don’t get close to this black golden Python here, it’s a bit irritable right now."
"Of course I won’t get close! I can tell, it’s got a ’don’t mess with me’ attitude going on!"
With the two bosses around, Wu Huan still had the nerve, as long as he didn’t get close. He glanced again at the black golden Python, "If you change the black to white, this would be like the original form of Lady Bai from the stories, right?"
Feng Yi said, "If it were a spirit, it would be bigger still."
Wu Huan nodded, "Makes sense. "
To Wu Huan, the black golden Python before him was an acceptable incarnation of Lady Bai from his imaginations, that type of sleek beauty, naturally radiant with iridescent splendor under the sunlight, something many large snakes couldn’t compare to. It was truly beautiful! Well, if you ignore the head.
Anyway, whatever form Lady Bai took in Wu Huan’s fantasies, it definitely wouldn’t be like the green anaconda!
The green anaconda looked too muscular.
"What’s its name?" Wu Huan asked.
"Devil Dragon," Steve said.
"Devil...Dragon?"
"Isn’t that mighty? When it was little, it already had a tyrannical aura. Look into its eyes, what do you see?"
"It looks ferocious, I don’t dare to keep staring."
"... Forget it, let’s go! Don’t continue to disturb her by staying here!"
Steve started to shoo them away.
Wu Huan protested, "Why are you only talking about me? Feng Yi is a stranger to it too! You are being biased!"
"No, to be fair, it really is more guarded against you!" said Steve.
Steve also explained the origin of the two large snakes.
"These two were originally bred at the reptile research base. Yang City Zoo was interested in collaborating to bring them into the park and even rebuilt two enclosures for them. However, a small issue arose, and they couldn’t be moved directly to the zoo after their arrival, so I took them in to care for a few days."
"And then you just took care of them at your own place?" Wu Huan looked Steve up and down, "You’re quite clever, kid!"
"Don’t look at me with that dirty mind of yours; I’m not that kind of person! I’ve cared for them since they were young, and I spend time with them every year. Naturally, my bond with them is unmatched by others; otherwise, the zoo wouldn’t have agreed to let me take over. The paperwork was a bit troublesome, but it was worth it! I’ve watched them grow up, how could I trust anyone less reliable with them!" Steve said.
"Are you going to give them back to the zoo once it’s ready?" Feng Yi asked.
"Definitely. Private ownership is not allowed now." Mentioning this made Steve already heartbroken, as he would have to give them back!
Oh, how he hated to part with them!
While talking, Steve took Feng Yi to a landscape pond in the backyard, which clearly had been used to raise koi or other ornamental fish before.
Steve said, "This pond is a decent size, and it’s surrounded by rockeries. However, the owner hadn’t lived here for quite some time. Although maintenance was outsourced, it was inevitable that things would be overlooked. After renting and intending to buy this place, I made some appropriate adjustments here."
The original landscape pond was now enclosed with glass walls, and the top was also sealed. The arrangement of the artificial hills and stones around the pool had also changed.
"I put Nini in the bathtub first since the pond wasn’t ready yet. Now that it’s all set, we’ll move Nini over," Steve said.
"How will you move her?" asked Wu Huan.
"By manpower of course! Ah, never mind waiting, come on, Feng Yi, give me a hand." Steve knew all too well that his old friend Wu Huan couldn’t be relied on.
Wu Huan was in no rush to leave; he wanted to see how these two would move Steve’s cherished cutie!
Looking at the five-meter-long menacing anaconda, could it really not bite people?
Following Steve and Feng Yi to the bathroom, he saw the green anaconda in the bathtub.
This endearing cutie, would you dare to hold it?
Wu Huan certainly wouldn’t dare.
Steve only asked Feng Yi to assist, while he personally completed the main task of moving.
Moving from the bathroom to the backyard pond, Steve carried his "cutie" with considerable effort, panting heavily.
Feng Yi helped by lifting the end as they moved along.
Wu Huan, staying two meters away, asked him, "Heavy, isn’t it?"
"Hmm..." said Feng Yi.
He could actually carry the entire "cutie" easily by himself, but he left the task to Steve.
Moving from the bathtub to beside the landscape pond, the "cutie" slid delightfully into the water.
"The anaconda’s temperament is so different in water than on land!" Wu Huan said.
On the ground, its bulk seemed a bit clumsy, even somewhat dim-witted in appearance.
But in the water, the green anaconda’s robust strength really stood out!
Seeing the "cutie" adapting well, Steve was very pleased.
"It’s especially well-behaved today," Steve said.
Now Wu Huan also felt the large snake was good-natured.
"Are green anacondas always this good-tempered?" Wu Huan asked.
"Generally, green anacondas rarely attack humans unprovoked, but as for whether they’re good-tempered, that varies with the snake," said Steve.
Within the same species, some are exceptionally calm, even too lazy to pay you any mind. Others can be quite nervous, easily angered and aggressive.
