Chapter 552: Chapter 485: Early Morning Court Session
"What about my salary?"
A Three Yellow Plum!
If Yu Qingyi could take it, perhaps he could break through to the Innate Realm!
He still valued the Three Yellow Plums.
"Treasure Medicines are distributed monthly, someone will deliver them to the Marquis Jing’an’s mansion when the time comes. The Three Yellow Plums can only be distributed after the harvest in October!" Lei Qiang said.
Yang Zhenshan’s eyes flickered, "Where are the Three Yellow Plums?"
"Sanshan Valley!" Lei Qiang did not hide anything and said directly.
"Oh!" Yang Zhenshan once again showed a look of realization.
It seems that Sanshan Valley is indeed a blessed land with hidden treasures; no wonder the court chose it as the residence for Innate Martial Artists.
Afterward, Yang Zhenshan left the room with the Innate Token in hand.
A trip here, and he gained an Innate Token, although this Innate Token is quite useful.
It grants free access to the Hidden Skill Pavilion and Sanshan Valley.
Yang Zhenshan walked out of Fengxian Hall and, after giving it some thought, headed towards the Hidden Skill Pavilion.
The Hidden Skill Pavilion is located on the west side of the Imperial City, just west of Wuying Hall, in a four-story building on its own courtyard, accessible directly from the West Hua Gate.
With the Innate Token in hand, Yang Zhenshan easily passed the personal army’s inspection and entered the Hidden Skill Pavilion.
"Is this the Marquis Jing’an? I, Wang Shu, have seen the Marquis Jing’an!"
As soon as Yang Zhenshan stepped into the Hidden Skill Pavilion, an old eunuch with a smile on his face greeted him.
Wang Shu! This name seems a bit presumptuous!
Yang Zhenshan thought with disapproval but nevertheless smiled and said, "I’ve seen Mr. Wang!"
"Not at all, not at all, please, Marquis!"
"Is this the Marquis’s first visit to the Hidden Skill Pavilion? Shall I, your humble servant, give you a tour?" Wang Shu was quite enthusiastic.
"It couldn’t be better, then I’ll trouble Mr. Wang!"
"Ha ha, it’s no trouble!"
Following this, Wang Shu started showing Yang Zhenshan around the Hidden Skill Pavilion.
The Hidden Skill Pavilion had a vast collection of books, with the first floor dedicated to Body Refining Realm Skills, with countless methods, totaling tens of thousands.
The second floor housed Postnatal Realm Skills, which were much fewer in number, only over eight hundred, but there were also many cultivation insights left by predecessors.
The third floor contained Innate Realm Skills, only ninety-two, but the bookshelves on the third floor were still packed because there were more cultivation insights here.
"Which cultivation technique does the Marquis practice?"
After browsing through the third floor, Wang Shu asked.
"The Yimu Chang Chun Skill!" said Yang Zhenshan.
Wang Shu walked towards a bookshelf, "Marquis, these are all books related to the Yimu Chang Chun Skill. The Yimu Chang Chun Skill is divided into eight volumes, with an additional one hundred and eighty-three volumes of cultivation insights left by predecessors!"
"Wait, the Yimu Chang Chun Skill has eight volumes?" asked Yang Zhenshan in surprise.
"Yes, eight volumes!" Wang Shu confirmed after looking at the books on the shelf: "It’s these eight volumes here!"
Yang Zhenshan quickly pulled out one of the volumes to look through.
Because his Yimu Chang Chun Skill only consisted of four volumes, he had always thought there were only four volumes.
The four volumes were respectively Body Refining, Refining Power, Meridian Permeation, and Essence Condensation.
He received his cultivation method from Duke Ning Mansion, and it should be correct, so why were there only four volumes?
Wang Shu saw that Yang Zhenshan was examining the cultivation method and did not disturb him, standing quietly to one side.
After browsing through all eight volumes, Yang Zhenshan finally understood why Duke Ning Mansion had only given him four volumes.
Because the subsequent four volumes were titled Qi Commanding, Mystical Mechanism, Ruwei, and Entering Tao.
The first four volumes talked about breaking through to the Innate Realm, while the latter four talked about cultivation methods after the breakthrough.
At the time, Yang Zhenshan hadn’t even approached the threshold of the Innate Realm; therefore even if Duke Ning Mansion had given him the last four volumes, they would have been useless, so they only gave him the first four.
This led to a misunderstanding for Yang Zhenshan; he had always assumed that cultivation beyond the Innate Realm had to be explored on his own, not realizing there were more cultivation methods to be practiced.
In fact, the last four volumes were not about a specific path but rather techniques of cultivation.
For example, Qi Commanding – what it is, its effects – it doesn’t require a specific cultivation technique to explain because Qi Commanding is simply a way of using Innate True Qi.
It’s not a precise path but a direction; the path you can forge depends entirely on your own comprehension and understanding.
The cultivation techniques on the book only record some basic cultivation tips; rather than pointing the way of cultivation, they are more about helping you better understand what Qi Commanding is all about.
In comparison, the cultivation insights are more likely to provide detailed cultivation techniques.
These insights are the experiences summarized by the predecessors, each book of insights represents a possible path, but whether it is suitable for you depends on your own choice.
To put it simply, the cultivation technique is only the textbook, while the cultivation insights are the explanation and exercises – studying from the textbook will only give you some formulas and basics, but cultivation insights deepen your understanding of the basics and can provide you with ideas for problem-solving.
So the four volumes of the cultivation technique are not that useful, while these insights are much more valuable.
Yang Zhenshan read through three sets of cultivation insights, benefiting greatly.
"This set of insights was left by an elder named Qingmu eight hundred years ago. It is said that he has reached the Ruwei level, able to transform his True Qi into myriad forms, lifelike and vivid!" Wang Shu had waited a long time and seeing that Yang Zhenshan wanted to continue browsing, he couldn’t help but speak up.
"Qingmu Elder!" Yang Zhenshan was very interested.
"There are many legends about Qingmu Elder; apparently, he lived up to two hundred and eighty years old," Wang Shu said.
