Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Nezha Sets Fire to the Xuanyuan Tomb

"You little brat, speaking nothing but big talk. Do you think what you’re doing is a good deed? You’re just throwing your life away!"

Hu Ximei’s eyes turned ruthless. Seeing Nezha remain silent, she made a gesture, and a group of demons revealed their true forms, rushing towards Nezha.

"Children, cultivators use the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi to nourish their bodies, and temper their flesh with Golden Core Power; eating them is truly nourishing!"

The sinister wind howled around him, and sharp fangs and claws were all before him.

Nezha’s pitch-black eyes scanned the surroundings. Without wasting words on this pack of beasts, he swung his fist, breaking teeth and snapping claws, continuing with the momentum of wind and thunder that shattered a head.

Before the blood and flesh could scatter, a golden light flashed directly towards the Nine-headed Pheasant Spirit.

Hu Ximei hesitated, unable to see what the golden light was, and retreated towards the cave with a sharp scream.

She grabbed a small demon to shield herself, and the Qiankun Ring shattered its bones, allowing Hu Ximei to narrowly escape disaster.

Her heart barely calmed down when she saw Nezha already breaking through the swarm of demons, grabbing a dark golden long spear in his hand.

Gritting her teeth, Hu Ximei revealed her true form, towering over two zhang, her nine heads swaying in the air, each uttering one word.

Charging forward, Nezha suddenly felt his body halt as strings of Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi twisted around him like thin ropes, binding him tightly.

He sighed inwardly that these demons should not be underestimated. If an ordinary Golden Core Realm were caught like this, they’d have no way out and would face their doom helplessly.

Fortunately, he was not an ordinary Golden Core Realm. Moving his arm, the sound of wind and thunder rumbled faintly in his ears, instantly breaking the Primordial Qi that bound him. With his robust body, he advanced unimpeded, emanating a force capable of shattering a myriad of techniques.

Seeing this, Hu Ximei grew more terrified, ordering her subordinates to surround Nezha, yet not daring to take a step forward herself.

She thought, even if your body seems invincible, my demons don’t rely solely on claws, as they also conceal weapons sharp enough to cut iron like clay.

But who knew Nezha’s Fire-tipped Spear spun like a wheel, impenetrable. After breaking free from the demons, he leaped into the air. Once airborne, he aimed the spear at the ground, unleashing waves of black and red fire straight upon the Xuanyuan Tomb.

Most of these demons were wild creatures from the mountains, mostly foxes with long fur, fearful of fire. When burned, they scattered and fled.

The fire from the Fire-tipped Spear was powerful, and the smoke was toxic. In an instant, the demons became fireballs, and within a few steps, they were burned alive to cinders.

A great fire erupted on Xuanyuan Tomb, flames reaching several zhang high, the fire fanned by the wind growing ever larger. Dense smoke blotted out the sun.

Watching her descendants being slaughtered, Hu Ximei gnashed her teeth in hatred, cursing, "You damned child, just you wait for me! This enmity is irreconcilable!"

She shouted loudly, but before the last word had fully left her mouth, a golden light struck right at her face.

Coming here meant slaughtering the chief villain. Nezha’s eyes were naturally locked onto Hu Ximei, attacking whenever opportunity arose.

Seeing the golden light coming her way, Hu Ximei didn’t recognize what magic the Qiankun Ring was, but it seemed exceptionally mighty. Not daring to resist, she hurled a string of jade beads in its enemy. In an instant, the jade beads turned to powder.

Just as he repelled one wave, a new group of demons arrived, surrounding Nezha like a pack of wolves tearing into a tiger.

Among the demons were some quite formidable ones, yet the stronger they were, the more excited Nezha grew. His spear stabbed left, sliced right, increasing in proficiency with the immortal spear skills he learned from Spirit Pearl through life-and-death trials. The force contained within his spear could cleave mountains and crack stones, booming powerfully, killing in one strike; how could this pack of demons withstand it?

Witnessing Nezha’s ferocity, Hu Ximei wanted to flee.

She spread her wings to fly skyward, only to be caught by a red silk, forcefully pulled back to the ground.

Raising her head again, Nezha was already right before her.

Hu Ximei, with no other choice, drew a treasure sword, bracing herself to duel with Nezha. Yet in just over a dozen rounds, her arms were bloodied and her bones shattered by Nezha’s Divine Power.

She screamed and lunged her nine heads to peck at Nezha’s eyes. Nezha swiftly evaded, catching one of the heads and with a wrench, ripped its neck asunder!

The Chicken Spirit yelped in pain, still surrounded by numerous small demons, but these mountain-dwelling foxes were only good for eating a few mortals. At this moment, they were useless, unable to fight back nor flee.

In despair, Hu Ximei shouted, "We serve Nuwa’s command to guard this tomb, to bring chaos to King Zhou and destabilize Chengtang in accordance with the will of Heaven. How can you, a cultivator, defy the heavens?"

The response was another iron spear.

"Nuwa is a merciful ancient deity. Why would she allow you to commit such atrocities? Your crimes are egregious. Even if Nuwa herself came today, she would punish you, not blame me."

Nezha spoke with purpose. Later, as Chengtang fell, Hu Ximei was left with no escape by the Xiqi army, encountering Nuwa.

When she pleaded with Nuwa for help, she received only a judgment of her overflowing wickedness, deserving punishment. She was bound by the Demon Binding Rope, delivered back to the Xiqi camp.

Seeing that Nezha wasn’t softening, Hu Ximei cried out, reverting to a seductive female form, tears enhancing her frail charm.

She supported Nezha’s Fire-tipped Spear with her sword, begging, "Heaven is merciful. If the immortal would spare my life, I pledge to serve you indefinitely, a servant forever grateful for your mercy."

Hu Ximei’s beauty surpassed the legendary Daji, exuding irresistible allure and vulnerability that would stir any observer’s heart.

Nezha was momentarily distracted, yet quickly regained focus, increasing his grip strength by threefold.

"You claim heaven’s mercy, so why eat humans?"

Seeing Nezha’s refusal to spare her, Hu Ximei immediately flipped her face, cursing, "Why do I eat humans? Humans eat more chicken than I do; am I not allowed to eat humans?"

"If humans had eaten your kin, today your revenge would be understandable, and I’d not interfere. But your eating is not merely for appetite."

He pierced another head of the Chicken Spirit with his spear, swatting down two demons leaping at him, and using the Qiankun Ring to kill two foxes trying to harm him with magic treasures, continuing, "The Li Family Village lived peacefully with Xuanyuan Tomb for a century, without incident. Why such senseless slaughter now? All because you dared with Daji entering the palace, emboldened by King Zhou’s tyranny?"

"Mistakes bring consequences!"

The Chicken Spirit was driven to the brink, wishing for tears but having none.

A demon she was, unable to comprehend human ways after gaining form.

Hu Ximei didn’t understand Nezha’s hatred of evil, thinking what mattered it to him?

You cultivate, I consume. Can’t we coexist without interference?

Her ignorance led to today.

The Chicken Spirit, with nine heads but one heart, was swiftly pierced by Nezha’s lightning-like spear, killing Hu Ximei, one of the three demons of Xuanyuan Tomb, on the spot.

With Hu Ximei dead, leaderless demons scattered and fled. Nezha flew on tunnel light into the sky, his Golden Core whirling within, nine divine patterns flowing across its surface, vigorous Life Essence Qi washing over his body, healing the minor wounds sustained in battle with noticeable speed.

Then, he set the mountain ablaze with his Fire-tipped Spear. Demons in Xuanyuan Tomb suffocated by smoke and flames, dead or fleeing, turning the place into a wasteland.

People from afar observed the flames lighting the southern sky, red clouds ablaze, aware of the fire, but unaware of the cause, spreading word to find out.

Blood-soaked bones reduced to ashes by the inferno.

In Li Family Village, Li Zhen was pacing on the southern path of the village, glancing anxiously at the inferno of Xuanyuan Tomb. A gust brought a wave of heat.

He worried for Nezha’s safety, anxious yet afraid to check.

Amidst his worry, he suddenly saw a flame descending from the sky, revealing the refined figure of Nezha within the blaze.

Li Zhen, once worried sick, now speechless upon seeing Nezha.

"Brother Li Zhen, we just met, how can you not recognize me?"

"Are you truly an immortal?"

Seeing Li Zhen’s stunned expression, Nezha laughed, "Immortals are people too."

"My heavens! Did you cause the fire at Xuanyuan Tomb? What about those demons?"

Nezha didn’t answer, only looking distantly at the blazing Xuanyuan Tomb, saying, "I hope this great fire today could bring forth a clear and bright future."

...

Now, speaking of Xuanyuan Tomb, there was also a Jade Pipa Spirit. She had gone to Zhaoge City to visit Daji today, thus escaping the disaster.

The two demons were drinking and reveling in the palace, getting drunk, they took advantage of the night to feast on humans in the Imperial Palace.

Under the Taihu Stone in the Imperial Garden, white bones were exposed to the sky.

The Pipa Spirit, satisfied, rode demon light back to Xuanyuan Tomb, passing by the South Gate, hearing bustling human voices.

Curious, the Pipa Spirit parted the demon light, peering down, only to find Jiang Ziya was fortune-telling in the Life Hall.
