Chapter 804: Chapter 0805: Reencountering Cao Ling

Leng Xue looked at Ye Qiu with a complex expression because she discovered that this Ye Qiu was completely different from the one described in the mission file. The Ye Qiu in the mission file was just an ordinary student.

But now, she didn’t feel that way.

Moreover, if he really was that ordinary, wouldn’t this mission have been completed by someone else long ago? It wouldn’t have fallen to her at all.

After resting for ten minutes, Wu Shuang continued leading the freshmen in training military boxing.

Other than sweating during training, it wasn’t so bad, and it wasn’t as arduous as these freshmen had imagined.

However, other instructors might not be the same—some freshmen even faced punishments like running laps around the field.

Ye Qiu had no idea how Liu Lingxiu was doing right now, nor did he know if she could endure it.

Wu Shuang’s phone rang, and after answering a call, he said, "Alright."

"You all just keep practicing the first step I taught you earlier. I have to take care of something for a moment."

Wu Shuang instructed.

The classmates didn’t expect that Instructor Wu would be so laid-back about it. Without him there, they’d definitely practice if they wanted to—or skip it if they didn’t feel like it.

About thirty minutes later, a jeep with military plates drove up.

When the jeep stopped, what caught the boys’ and girls’ attention was a stunning young woman in military uniform, emanating a commanding presence. From her face, she was extraordinarily beautiful.

As the young woman dressed in military uniform walked toward them, at first, they thought she might be looking for Instructor Wu.

Cao Ling indeed was here to find Wu Shuang, but she had also come to see Ye Qiu.

From that time on the airplane, Cao Ling already knew that Ye Qiu had extraordinary medical skills—her grandfather’s illness, which had baffled experts in France, hadn’t yielded any useful results from their inquiries.

In light of this, Cao Ling had hoped to approach Ye Qiu for a consultation.

Unexpectedly, upon returning to China, she had managed to encounter Ye Qiu again.

When Cao Ling wanted to reach out to Ye Qiu, he had already left. It wasn’t until after she and her grandfather took another plane back to China that, through Grandpa Cao’s connections, she found out that Ye Qiu was a freshman at Jinling University’s School of Medicine. She then arranged for Wu Shuang to make contact with Ye Qiu first.

Cao Ling walked over gracefully, and Wu Shuang murmured, "Miss, he’s right here."

Cao Ling had already recognized Ye Qiu.

Now Ye Qiu was dressed in a military uniform—not his usual ordinary bargain clothes. He exuded a far more elevated aura and bearing.

"Dr. Ye, we meet again."

Directly approaching him, Cao Ling addressed Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu had already anticipated that this beautiful woman would come looking for him, but he didn’t seem at all pleased about it.

As the classmates, including Luo Yang, looked on with surprised and incredulous expressions, Cao Ling asked, "Do you have time now?"

"I’m in the middle of military training."

Ye Qiu replied.

Cao Ling burst out laughing, and her laughter was bright and enchanting. The main reason she laughed was because she thought Ye Qiu was genuinely funny.

Ye Qiu, of all people, was going through military training just like the other ordinary students.

She couldn’t help but find it amusing.

Though it was the standard process for new university students, recalling Ye Qiu’s brilliance on the airplane and seeing him now blending in among the students, Cao Ling thought Ye Qiu carried an air of pretentiousness.

"Instructor Wu said you’re allowed to be excused!"

Cao Ling stated.

When Ye Qiu didn’t bother responding, Cao Ling continued, "My grandfather isn’t feeling well. Would you be willing to take a look at him?"

Ye Qiu glanced at the time—there was still an hour and a half until dinner.

"Alright, but I won’t treat your grandfather for free."

Ye Qiu said.

"Of course."

As Ye Qiu followed Cao Ling away, Luo Yang, Zhou Shaohui, and the other classmates—boys and girls alike—were still left in shock.

However, when Instructor Wu Shuang also left, the students felt as if they had been let loose like untethered cattle, free to relax.

Watching Ye Qiu and Wu Shuang board the jeep and drive off, Luo Yang couldn’t help but wonder: Was Ye Qiu ***, or did he hold some other special identity?

He wasn’t entirely sure what Ye Qiu and Cao Ling talked about, but something told him that young woman who arrived in the military vehicle wasn’t ordinary in the slightest.

"Let’s head back to the dorms."

Luo Yang remarked.

The other students dispersed.

They felt this was the easiest day of military training by far.

Ye Qiu, Cao Ling, and Wu Shuang boarded the jeep, where a soldier in a military uniform sat at the wheel.

The jeep, bearing army plates, didn’t stay on-site for long before leaving again, drawing the attention of both the instructors and students.

Now Ye Qiu sat in the back seat, with Cao Ling beside him.

Cao Ling, being a junior at Jinling Military Academy, had taken time off specifically to come and find Ye Qiu. Her grandfather’s condition, though not as severe as the last time, still made her feel it was best to have him treated sooner rather than later.

After practicing military boxing just now, Ye Qiu had sweated a lot, carrying a faint stench. Even with the air conditioning running, Cao Ling sitting beside him likely picked up on it.

Nevertheless, Cao Ling said nothing. Instead, her impression of Ye Qiu as an extraordinary young man grew stronger.

"I heard you know how to fly planes!"

"I don’t."

Ye Qiu replied.

Ye Qiu outright denied it?

This surprised Cao Ling, but she was certain Wu Shuang hadn’t lied to her.

During the trip, Ye Qiu didn’t speak further, and Cao Ling refrained from asking more.

The soldier drove the jeep toward the Jinling Military Region compound. Although Grandpa Cao had already retired, he still resided within the Jinling Military Region. Cao Ling’s father and several uncles held significant leadership roles within various army divisions—her father himself was a regiment commander.

Thus, even though Grandpa Cao had retired, the Cao Family’s status in the Jinling Military Region remained prominent, exerting considerable influence.

After roughly two hours, they had left the outskirts of Jinling City far behind and arrived at the gates of the Jinling Military Region. The soldier showed his credentials, along with Cao Ling’s and Wu Shuang’s documentation, and after multiple layers of checks, they were finally allowed entry.

Ye Qiu glanced outside and saw numerous armed soldiers in military uniforms, as well as military aircraft circling overhead. Several tanks rolled along the roads.
