Chapter 800: Chapter 0801: Freshman Opening Ceremony
Ye Qiu hit her with his car at noon?
This shocked Luo Yang, Li Qianqian, and even Li Shen, because Leng Xue now looked completely fine.
Ye Qiu hadn’t expected to be the target of such unreasonable blame so quickly. Hadn’t he already cured her illness?
"Who hit you?"
Ye Qiu asked coldly.
Moreover, he had already treated her condition. Back then, Ye Qiu had even offered her ten thousand yuan as compensation for her skirt, but Leng Xue had refused. Now, unexpectedly, she was pinning the blame on him again.
"You—you just wait and see!"
Leng Xue seemed very angry and turned to leave.
Watching her departing figure, Ye Qiu found it increasingly suspicious.
Li Qianqian, on the other hand, stared at this beautiful young woman, genuinely surprised that she was in the same class as Ye Qiu.
"She’s in the same class as you?"
Li Qianqian asked.
Ye Qiu nodded.
Li Qianqian grew even more worried. With Ye Qiu’s situation, it seemed all too likely that this stunning girl would be drawn to him. She feared another admirer might start chasing Ye Qiu.
After dinner with Li Qianqian and the others, Ye Qiu prepared to drive back to the Peach Blossom Source Villa Community. He didn’t plan to stay here since he still had cultivation to do tonight.
"Brother Qiu, are you really heading back?"
Although Luo Yang’s parents also lived in Jiangnan, Luo Yang didn’t want to go home, feeling that living in the dormitory offered more freedom.
"I’ll come back tomorrow morning."
Ye Qiu called Liu Lingxiu, who chose to stay in the girls’ dormitory. She was getting along well with two of her dorm mates, so she decided not to head home.
Since that was the case, Ye Qiu chose to head home alone.
When he returned to the Peach Blossom Source Villa Community, reflecting on the first day of the new school year, he couldn’t shake the strange feeling about the day. Luo Yang didn’t seem like an issue.
What struck him as odd was Leng Xue—the woman he accidentally hit at the corner while driving. With Ye Qiu’s driving skill, it was nearly impossible to hit her.
Clearly, this situation wasn’t simple. There was a strong likelihood that Leng Xue had intentionally thrown herself in harm’s way.
Why would she do that?
Ye Qiu didn’t have an answer yet, but he was certain this woman was dangerous, far from an ordinary girl.
Currently, his parents and sister hadn’t returned to the villa. Ye Qiu immediately went to take a shower. Afterward, he turned on his computer and logged into the "Monster Continent" game client. Upon logging in, aside from Li Shen and Zhu Zhiming, Luo Yang, under the nickname "The Mighty Luo Shixin," had also joined. Luo Yang played as a knight, along with Zhou Shaohui, Xu Xingrong, and Zhang Dahui.
Additionally, the player named "Angry Little Loli" had joined their group. Ye Qiu’s team had gone from three people to four, and now to eight—a strong squad for monster hunting and leveling up, far surpassing the team’s earlier capabilities.
Especially under Ye Qiu’s leadership, Zhou Shaohui and the others, who once thought of themselves as skilled players, discovered they were even better at leveling up with Ye Qiu guiding them.
Playing until eleven at night, Ye Qiu eventually logged off. As for how long Li Shen and the others continued to play, Ye Qiu didn’t concern himself. Thanks to the internet and the ability to communicate in-game, even if they weren’t in the same dormitory, their gaming sessions were still enjoyable.
After logging off, Ye Qiu shut the door and sat near the window to begin cultivating the "Primordial Five Emperors Technique."
As Mid-Autumn Festival approached, Ye Qiu hoped to breakthrough multiple levels around the holiday to finally enter the Foundation Establishment Stage.
Otherwise, given his current circumstances, Ye Qiu knew that ascending back to the Heavenly Court Imperial Medical Bureau might truly be an impossible dream.
After cultivating through the night, the next morning, Ye Qiu was still asleep when his phone began to ring—it was Luo Yang calling him.
"Brother Qiu, hurry up and come over. The freshman ceremony starts at 7:30!"
Ye Qiu checked the time—it was already 7:15 a.m. He had nearly forgotten. Things were different now; he had to return to school.
Ye Qiu quickly got dressed, washed up, and rushed downstairs. His parents, Ye Weidong and Ye Xue, were eating breakfast and assumed Ye Qiu wouldn’t be heading back to school until 8 a.m.
"Ye Qiu, how was the first day of school yesterday?"
Ye Weidong asked.
"Dad, there’s no time! The freshman ceremony is starting; I need to go back and attend."
"Always rushing about—typical of you."
Ye Qiu quickly headed outside, got in his car, reversed out of the driveway, and drove toward Jin University.
Once in his car, though, Ye Qiu felt less concerned. Ceremony or not, he decided to take his time driving. When he arrived at Jin University, it was already 7:40 a.m.
Now, he saw several students gathering around the plaza area near Building Five.
Though the ceremony was scheduled for 7:30 a.m., Ye Qiu knew it likely wouldn’t actually start until nine. After all, how could the school leaders possibly wake up so early?
Realizing he’d rushed unnecessarily, Ye Qiu thought it would’ve been better to have breakfast before heading over.
Still, he parked his car and walked toward Building Five, scanning the freshman crowd until he found his class. Almost everyone had arrived—only he and Ning Yun were missing.
When Luo Yang saw Ye Qiu, he said, "Brother Qiu, your chair is still in the dorm. Want me to grab it for you?"
"Number 1, go fetch it."
Ye Qiu directed Zhou Shaohui.
Ye Qiu handed Zhou Shaohui the keys, and Zhou Shaohui—who had been reluctant to sit in the sun—readily took them and headed to the boys’ dormitory.
"Is there still breakfast left at the dining hall?"
"I don’t think so."
This was university, not high school. The dining hall had opened at six a.m., but it was now almost eight—those lunch ladies were probably cleaning up by now.
"Number 2, go buy me breakfast."
Ye Qiu pointed at Xu Xingrong.
Taking the money Ye Qiu handed him, Xu Xingrong walked out to the nearby street, grateful for an excuse to leave. Still, being ordered around like that left him feeling a little annoyed, though he dared not say much.
"Number 3, give me your chair."
Ye Qiu directed Zhang Dayao.
Reluctantly, Zhang Dayao passed his chair to Ye Qiu before standing off to the side. The other male students watched this unfold with astonishment.
Ye Qiu seemed imperious, ordering the others around as though they were his subordinates. Yet it amazed the onlookers that all three complied without protest.
Ye Qiu’s gaze turned forward. None of the freshmen were wearing military uniforms yet. Instead, their outfits varied, with the girls sporting vibrant colors. Though not particularly attractive, they seemed eager to start putting effort into their appearances.
Among the girls in his class, Leng Xue stood out like a shining gem in a field of emeralds. Or perhaps, in their medical school’s freshman cohort, her beauty made her the most dazzling presence.
Yet the more Ye Qiu observed her, the more suspicious she seemed. He decided to stop paying attention to her altogether.
