Chapter 783: Chapter 0784: Treatment Makes It Shrink [Third Update]
The autumn lingerie designs created by Ye Qiu had been stolen by Qingcheng Group, mass-produced, and yet they couldn’t sell them?
What exactly was the reason for this?
To this day, neither Xiao Mei nor even Shen Yueru could figure it out. But now, after Ye Qiu’s explanation, Xiao Mei realized—it must have been some deliberate trick Ye Qiu had pulled.
After Ye Qiu and Xiao Mei finished dinner, Xiao Mei cleaned up the dishes, sat down to rest for half an hour, and then took her private clothing into the bathroom to shower.
When she came out after her shower, she was wearing the beige dress she had just gotten.
"How is it? Looks good, doesn’t it?"
She twirled slightly, showing off the hem of her dress.
The more Xiao Mei looked at it, the more she liked it. After all, this dress cost twenty or thirty thousand Huaxia Yuan—something many people in the country probably couldn’t even afford.
"Not bad, it suits your temperament."
Ye Qiu smiled.
Xiao Mei deliberately spun a few more times in front of Ye Qiu, satisfied that it really looked great.
But she decided to take it off, wash it tonight, and wear it again tomorrow.
Most people in the country still preferred to wash new clothes once before wearing them; it felt more comfortable that way. Even though this dress was probably handmade, Xiao Mei still planned on changing out of it.
When Xiao Mei returned to her room, she took off the dress and changed into her usual sleepwear. But as she walked into the living room, she started to feel a little nervous.
Although Ye Qiu had already treated the birthmarks on her back and lower body before, meaning he had seen her thoroughly, this time he was going to treat her there.
Xiao Mei sat down next to Ye Qiu, a soft fragrance wafting in his direction. It was the combination of her natural body scent and the fresh fragrance from her shower.
"Are you sure this can actually be treated?"
Xiao Mei asked.
She felt like the size of that area was too much—it was particularly uncomfortable, especially during summer when she sweated a lot.
"Do you think I’d lie to you?"
The severe birthmarks on Xiao Mei’s body were something that might have been deemed untreatable both domestically and internationally, yet Ye Qiu had made them completely disappear in just a few days.
Now Xiao Mei was a lot more confident and bold, no longer as self-conscious as before. Even her taste in fashion had improved, reflecting her newfound self-assurance.
She no longer had to worry about anyone catching sight of the birthmark on her neck.
Xiao Mei nodded in agreement.
"Alright, Ye Qiu, go ahead and treat me!"
Xiao Mei said decisively.
"Come closer, and turn your back to me."
Ye Qiu instructed her to move closer and sit by his side. Xiao Mei’s breathing immediately grew heavier. Still, she didn’t dislike or resist Ye Qiu—in fact, at this moment, she merely regarded him as a doctor.
Xiao Mei turned her back to Ye Qiu and closed her eyes. As her breath quickened, she felt Ye Qiu place his hand on her. A tingling sensation, like a mild electric current, coursed through her body.
She actually felt electrified. It was a mixture of numbness and pleasure that made her feel unexpectedly comfortable.
She didn’t know how much time passed before she noticed that Ye Qiu had already withdrawn his hand and was sitting poker-faced beside her.
"All done?"
"All done."
Ye Qiu replied.
Xiao Mei remained seated nearby, although her face still felt a bit warm, especially when she caught Ye Qiu looking at her.
"What are you looking at?"
Xiao Mei asked.
"A lot of women would kill to have a figure like yours, and yet you don’t seem to want it. I honestly don’t get you."
Ye Qiu said.
These days, many women were willing to spend a fortune on cosmetic surgeries, filling themselves with silicone. Sure, it might make them look bigger, but it was far from natural—and, worst of all, there were risks involved. The implants might even rupture.
"I’d prefer it reduced to a B."
"C would be good enough."
Ye Qiu said.
Reducing it to a B would be going too far—and if Xiao Mei regretted it later and wanted it back, it’d just be a hassle.
Ye Qiu stayed around, watching TV with Xiao Mei until past ten o’clock in the evening. Then, he got up, ready to leave.
"I’ll come back in a few days for another treatment. After three or four sessions, there should be noticeable improvement."
"You’re not staying over tonight?"
"No, I need to head back and pick up my sister and the others to take them home."
Ye Qiu politely declined to stay.
Xiao Mei had no choice but to get up and personally see him to the door.
As she watched Ye Qiu take the elevator downstairs, she replayed the earlier moment in her mind. She felt shy, yet there was also an indescribable emotion stirring within her. Thinking back to the two expensive dresses Ye Qiu had bought her, she felt a strange, complex mix of feelings, but she still couldn’t ignore the fact that she was several years older than Ye Qiu. Perhaps they really weren’t suited for each other.
Ye Qiu exited the elevator, got into his car, and under the envious gazes of two security guards, he drove towards the Imperial Cuisine Restaurant.
It was already past ten o’clock, and he expected the restaurant to have fewer patrons by now. To his surprise, the place was still packed with people outside.
It seemed that this building could no longer meet the demand. Despite the high prices, the Imperial Cuisine Restaurant continued to draw large crowds—mainly because the food was exceptionally delicious. Once you tasted it, you’d crave it again.
Ye Qiu parked outside and walked into the restaurant, finding the lobby completely packed. He went straight up to Ye Xue’s office.
Inside, Ye Xue and Liu Lingxiu were relaxing in the air conditioning while sorting through endless stacks of receipts. The daily revenue amounted to thousands per transaction.
When Ye Qiu arrived, Ye Xue immediately asked, "Ye Qiu, have you eaten?"
"Sis, I’ve already eaten. I’m here to take you all home."
"That probably won’t happen until midnight. There are still many customers waiting."
Even though Ye Weidong had recently hired another batch of new staff to rotate shifts with the existing ones, the servers were still exhausted. These workers rested from midnight until eight the following morning, giving them a full eight hours. However, even with two rotating teams, they were still overworked.
As for the kitchen staff and chefs, they were even more fatigued.
Fortunately, Ye Weidong had adopted Ye Qiu’s suggestion: offering high salaries to recruit a fresh batch of culinary graduates, giving them extensive preliminary training at another location.
Once the training was complete, the new chefs would rotate into the current team. This not only relieved the overburdened chefs but also ensured the consistent quality of the dishes.
Of course, high salaries and good working conditions were key to keeping the chefs motivated, ensuring their commitment to the craft.
Ye Qiu sat silently nearby, watching Ye Xue as she worked. Meanwhile, he wondered what his parents were up to, moving between the upstairs and downstairs.
It could be said that the Imperial Cuisine Restaurant was incredibly successful. Over the past half a month, all the initial investments had been recouped. Yet, seeing how tirelessly Ye Weidong and his wife worked made it clear this wasn’t exactly what Ye Qiu had hoped for.
After all, his original intention was simply to help Ye Weidong, his wife, and Ye Xue avoid working so hard. Who could’ve predicted that while the profits had grown, their workload hadn’t diminished at all?
