Chapter 781: Chapter 0782: The Feelings of a Superior [First Update]

Basically, any large service-based company typically has its own internal training institution. New employees must undergo a period of training before officially taking on their roles.

The Eiffel Chain Hotel, with over a hundred three-star and four-star hotels, requires all new service personnel, including front desk staff, cashiers, and so on, to go through stringent training.

Therefore, when the hotel was first established, a Training Department was created, which also included a Training Academy under it.

The current Training Academy operates directly under the Training Department.

Xiao Liang had originally served as the Deputy Director of the Operations Department of the hotel group – a position of significant authority, making him one of the key leaders with real power at the top of the hotel group.

No one expected that he would be directly transferred to the Training Academy to serve as the Deputy Dean. To others, this was clearly a demotion, an immediate downgrade from Level One to Level Three.

After all, the Training Department and Operations Department had always been on equal footing, with the latter often seen as superior. Yet now, he was being reassigned to a subordinate branch of the Training Department.

When Xiao Liang received the appointment letter for his new role, he couldn’t quite believe it at first, thinking he’d misheard. However, the gazes of the other managers confirmed that they had heard the same thing.

Demoted by three levels?

He had spent nearly ten years working his way up to his current position in the hotel. Now, to be demoted by three levels and reassigned to the Training Academy, a position with minimal authority?

"I... I refuse to accept this! On what grounds are you transferring me?"

"On what grounds are you demoting me?"

Xiao Liang stood up and demanded.

In truth, both Xiao Liang and the others were well aware that this decision wasn’t made because of his recent confrontation with Xia Lan. Instead, it was a determination made long before.

*"Bang!"*

"Why? Are you the President, or am I the President?"

Xia Lan slammed her palm on the desk and asked coldly.

If it had been Li Fei addressing them, no one would have raised objections. But because Xia Lan was newly appointed, they were dismissive of her authority.

"I’ve worked tirelessly over all these years. Even if I haven’t achieved major accomplishments, surely I’ve made significant contributions. How can you treat me like this?"

Xiao Liang shouted.

"Because you’ve violated the company’s regulations!"

Xia Lan replied.

When Xia Lan was met with Xiao Liang’s defiance, she directly ordered Secretary Su to present a detailed account of his past violations of company policies.

Seeing the evidence laid before him, Xiao Liang fell into silence.

He had never imagined that all his actions over the years had been carefully observed by Li Fei. Li Fei had chosen not to confront him until now, when Xia Lan took over and decided to make an example out of him.

Xiao Liang was left speechless.

With Xiao Liang removed from his position as Deputy Director of the Operations Department, it was clear that a new manager would take his place. Ye Qiu had already assisted Xia Lan in selecting the successor.

However, Xia Lan chose not to disclose the name immediately.

After Secretary Su read aloud Xiao Liang’s reassignment order, there were eight other managers who were also transferred or demoted.

At this point, the remaining managers no longer dared to behave as aggressively as before.

They understood now that Xia Lan had truly taken over Li Fei’s role, and that their future promotions would be determined by Xia Lan, not Li Fei as before.

"If anyone has objections, you may arrange a meeting with Secretary Su or Secretary Bai in the President’s Office after this meeting concludes."

Xia Lan stated coldly.

She glanced around at the managers and could sense that today’s objectives had largely been achieved.

After having Secretary Su announce the conclusion of the meeting, Xia Lan left the room with Luo Fei, Secretary Su, and Secretary Bai.

The managers who had been reassigned or demoted left with grim expressions. They had assumed that Li Fei’s fall would benefit them the most.

But now it seemed this sharp-witted woman with long hair wasn’t so easily dealt with either.

On her way back to her office, Xia Lan suddenly felt a thrill of power, remembering what Ye Qiu had told her about the sense of authority that comes with being in charge.

Over time, this sensation would naturally manifest in her demeanor.

When Xia Lan returned to the President’s Office, Ye Qiu was still sitting there.

He seemed to know instinctively that the mission for today had been accomplished. The current phase required Xia Lan to gradually adapt to her position and transform into a strong female leader.

"Dr. Ye, I just experienced that feeling for the first time!"

Xia Lan entered with excitement in her voice.

"This is only the beginning. Spend some time reading the books I recommended; they’ll be very helpful for you."

Ye Qiu understood clearly that what matters most for someone in a leadership position isn’t knowing everything or doing everything, but learning how to manage people effectively. This is the key to success.

For Xia Lan, the most urgent priority was learning how to manage the leadership team beneath her, a process that couldn’t happen overnight but would require steady development.

The books Ye Qiu had recommended to her were bound to be immensely beneficial.

Ye Qiu glanced at the clock. It was already around 3:00 p.m. Though Xia Lan hadn’t spent more than an hour in the conference room, significant progress had been made.

Over the next period, apart from the occasional phone call to guide her, Ye Qiu believed things would proceed smoothly.

"Sister-in-law, if you have any issues you can’t resolve, feel free to call me. I’ll head out for now."

Xia Lan hadn’t expected Ye Qiu to leave so quickly.

Still, she knew he must be incredibly busy with his own matters. After all the trouble he had gone through to help her over the past two days, Xia Lan felt deeply grateful.

"Dr. Ye, I’ll reach out to you when I need help."

Ye Qiu declined Xia Lan’s offer to see him out, instead asking Secretary Bai to escort him.

Once outside, Ye Qiu whispered a few words into Secretary Bai’s ear before heading directly to the elevator.

After reaching the underground parking lot, Ye Qiu got into his car and drove away.

With two or three days left before the start of the new academic week, Ye Qiu originally planned to make some preparations. Plus, he knew that Xiao Mei was still waiting for him to help with her treatment.

However, ever since Ye Qiu returned to Jinling, Xia Lan’s requests had monopolized his time, leaving him no chance to meet Xiao Mei.

Driving out of the Eiffel Chain Hotel’s headquarters, Ye Qiu first began heading home.

The dresses he had purchased during his time in Paris had all been shipped over, and he planned to deliver the two outfits meant for Xiao Mei personally.

But since it wasn’t Sunday, Xiao Mei was likely still at work at Xingyue Group.

Ye Qiu pulled out his phone and gave Xiao Mei a call.

Before long, Xiao Mei picked up and asked, "Ye Qiu, you’re back?"

"I’m back. Are you at work?"
