Chapter 706: Chapter 0707: I Really Like the Environment Here [23rd Update]

Ye Qiu did not look at the beautiful women like those lecherous men did; he simply felt that Louise was markedly different from other ordinary Caucasian women. Exactly where this difference stemmed from, he couldn’t quite pin down in the moment—he only noticed that her skin was somewhat deathly pale.

Zhou Wenting said that, but did she mean to tease Ye Qiu, or was she jealous?

After sitting on the lawn for over ten minutes, they got up and walked through the gardens filled with a vast spread of lavender, tulips, and roses. If these were privately owned back in his country, Ye Qiu could hardly imagine; it would definitely attract crowds of tourists to admire them.

However, now aside from Ye Qiu, Zhou Wenting, and Louise, only occasionally did they see some gardeners and other workers—there were no other people in sight.

This large expanse all belonged privately to Count Charley, which just showed how wealthy he was.

The flowers were teeming with butterflies, bees, and some unknown small birds flitting about. The trio walked a great distance, and when they stopped, two coaches arrived, identical to the ones from the previous night.

If one didn’t like walking, one could ride in the coaches to enjoy the sprawling beauty of the estate.

Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting climbed aboard one coach, while Louise boarded another. The coachman, just like the one from the night before, slowly drove the spirited horse along the estate’s roads.

Zhou Wenting didn’t know whether the coachman understood Mandarin or not. She moved closer to Ye Qiu and whispered, "I always feel there’s something strange about this castle, and Count Charley too. Maybe after we cure Count Charley’s illness, we should return to our country."

Having studied in France for many years, both in high school and university, Zhou Wenting had never felt this way. But after last night, she suddenly felt a distinct difference here.

"What’s there to be afraid of? I really like this place!"

Ye Qiu said.

Having grown up in the Heavenly Court Imperial Medical Bureau, he was curious about everything in this world. In his homeland, he had learned about the world through absorbing soul consciousnesses. From the powerful beings he’d encountered last night to the living dead and witchcraft, he knew it wasn’t simple.

Now that he had come to a Western country, considering it was rare for him to be here, Ye Qiu was not eager to return just yet.

"But what if I can’t sleep tonight?"

Zhou Wenting raised her head and asked softly.

If Ye Qiu was with her, Zhou Wenting wasn’t scared.

However, if it was like last night, and she had to sleep alone in that guest room again, she was afraid she would suffer from insomnia once more.

"Go find Louise, and sleep with her!"

Ye Qiu did not suggest Zhou Wenting sleep in the same room with him, as it wouldn’t be proper.

Zhou Wenting knew she had to do just that and decided to explain it to Louise later.

When the coachman stopped, Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting realized they had reached the front door of a small mountain villa. As they jumped down from the coach, the skirted Louise, who had just exited her coach, approached Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting and said, "This is the mountain villa cottage; we can go in and take a look."

Ye Qiu had thought that these mountain villas were inhabited by gardeners and farmers, but upon entering, he found the interior to be very clean. Inside, there were stools and chairs, and next to them, a liquor cabinet and wine rack filled with bottles of red wine.

While Ye Qiu was looking around, an apparently young maid came out of nowhere, brought wine glasses and a bottle of red wine, greeted Louise and the other two, and then opened the wine bottle.

This undoubtedly surprised both Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting even more!

Why would Count Charley’s grand castle and mountain villas have such cottages? And, why was there a young maid here in this cottage?

Ye Qiu couldn’t figure it out, but Louise didn’t elaborate further.

When the young maid poured half a glass of red wine for the three of them, Ye Qiu picked it up, swirled it, took a sip, and found that the homemade red wine was just as delicious as what he had drunk the night before.

"Louise, can we sleep in the same room tonight?"

Wenting whispered to her.

"Why?"

Louise asked in surprise.

"I’m scared to sleep in that guest room alone."

Wenting said.

Soon, Louise seemed to realize what Wenting was afraid of, but she was curious—wasn’t Ye Qiu, the young doctor, afraid at all?

Could this young man really be so mysterious and capable that he could even cure ailments like those of Count Charley?

"Wenting, then let’s sleep in the same room tonight!"

Louise agreed.

Although Wenting and Louise had been classmates, Louise had not lived in the university dormitories, so they had not been roommates before, just very good classmates and friends.

However, in Wenting’s view, even if Louise was a viscount, it didn’t really matter.

After having half a glass of red wine at this mountain villa cottage, Louise, along with Ye Qiu and Wenting, came out and got on the coach, and then they did not go out again.

Because the estate was so vast, it seemed very near from a high viewpoint, but only when walking on the ground did one realize the estate was as large as a small town in their own country; the plains of the estate seemed endless at a glance.

When they returned to the grand castle’s entrance by coach, Ye Qiu helped Wenting down from the coach, while Louise also descended slowly, holding her dress.

When they returned inside the castle, Ye Qiu noticed that Ivan, the butler, appeared in front of him once again.

"Doctor Ye, Miss Zhou, do you want to go back to your room to rest, or do you need any other service?"

"Let’s go back to rest first."

Ye Qiu said.

Ye Qiu, Wenting, and Louise followed Butler Ivan up to the seventh floor of the castle. Upon reaching the seventh floor, the backpacks and rolling suitcases from another guest room were moved by two young maids into Louise’s room.

Louise usually did not live here; she had come to stay this time only to host and take care of Ye Qiu and Wenting.

However, from Louise’s usual graceful movements and demeanor, it was evident that her family’s status could not be far off from that of Archbishop Count Charley.

Yet, for now, Louise had not revealed more about her identity.

When Ye Qiu returned to his own guest room, he opened the window to look outside, where he could still see a castle in the distance with an inverted cross on the rooftop of the castle, and it was black. Moreover, there was also a human-like statue there.

Ye Qiu withdrew his gaze and did not look at those bat items anymore or touch those books; instead, he went straight to the soft, large bed and lay down to rest.

He did not know how much time had passed when he suddenly heard a knock at the door. Upon opening it, he found the same two young and beautiful maids, still smiling, ready to take Ye Qiu for a bath and a change of clothes, and then go down to have lunch with Count Charley.
