Chapter 690: Chapter 0691: Visa [Seventh Update]

Leaving the Jinling City District, they hit the expressway directly towards East Sea City.

While heading there, Ye Qiu knew about the license plate restrictions in East Sea, but for him, it didn’t matter; even if he were caught by the cameras, dealing with the fines and points deduction would be easy.

Throughout the journey, Zhou Wenting was afraid her chatter might distract Ye Qiu, especially now that they were on the expressway where the speed was so high. Thus, she refrained from speaking.

However, she realized the rapid, significant changes within the country, believing, despite Ye Qiu’s return, that coming back to Huaxia wouldn’t be bad.

Soon, Ye Qiu had driven into the East Sea City District and, following the GPS, headed to the French Consulate General office building in Changning District.

Upon reaching the office building’s underground parking lot and following the signs, they parked the car, grabbed the visa application documents, and took the elevator directly up to the eighteenth floor.

In the elevator, Ye Qiu still said nothing; however, Zhou Wenting stayed close to him, particularly when other people entered the elevator.

When they reached the eighteenth floor, Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting arrived at the consulate’s office hall. Considering the number of tourists heading to France for the holidays, it was unexpectedly crowded at that time.

They had no choice but to queue according to the instructions given.

Initially, Zhou Wenting suggested that Ye Qiu sit aside while she queued up; when it was time for Ye Qiu to sign the visa application or provide a fingerprint, she would call him.

But Ye Qiu took the initiative to stand behind Zhou Wenting and helped her hold things while they queued.

Apart from his ordinary attire, Ye Qiu didn’t appear any different.

They started queuing from ten-thirty in the morning until eleven-twenty. Just when it was almost their turn to process their visas, suddenly, a fashionably dressed young man and a glamorously dressed young woman approached.

These two directly attempted to cut in line in front of Ye Qiu.

Queue jumping is a common indulgence among the people, at home and abroad alike, and when it came to visa applications, this young man and woman were no exception.

"We are in a hurry, let us through first!"

The young man said.

If this young man and woman had tried to cut in front of other people, Ye Qiu wouldn’t have bothered. However, they had the audacity to cut in front of him.

"Get lost!"

Ye Qiu coldly told the young man.

If everyone behaved like him and cut the line, then why would Ye Qiu have bothered queuing so painstakingly?

"You country bumpkin, what did you just say? We are from East Sea. We are in a hurry here. What’s wrong with cutting in?"

The young man, judging by Ye Qiu’s simple clothes, mistook him for a crude rustic, not expecting that this ’country bumpkin’ would dare to confront him and his girlfriend as they applied for visas.

Moreover, in the eyes of the young man, this ’country bumpkin,’ wearing clothes worth less than a hundred yuan altogether, thinking about getting a visa for France, was completely laughable!

"I’ll say it one more time, get lost!"

Ye Qiu coldly repeated.

The fashionably dressed young man seemingly ignored Ye Qiu and moved to cut in line anyway.

He was in a hurry and didn’t want to bother with Ye Qiu, especially since waiting to queue would mean only getting serviced when the French staff resumed work in the afternoon, potentially wasting his time.

The young man disdainfully looked at Ye Qiu, paying him no heed, instead turning his attention to Zhou Wenting ahead.

Wenting Zhou, dressed stylishly beautiful and tall, with a temperament cultivated from a young age and having spent such a long time in Europe, was instantly recognizable as a "white, rich, and beautiful" woman, far more attractive than the young man’s flamboyant girlfriend.

Of course, the young man wouldn’t believe for the life of him that Ye Qiu had come with Wenting Zhou.

The young man was still standing there when, suddenly, he didn’t know why his stomach started to hurt terribly.

"Ouch, it hurts, I’m dying!"

The young man screamed in agony.

This caught the attention of the embassy staff, who hurried over to ask the young man what was wrong.

Nowadays, applying for a visa to France wasn’t as strict as before, but if you had a disease, there might be some trouble.

The young man also felt that his stomach was killing him, and the young, flamboyant woman next to him was also puzzled about what was wrong with her boyfriend.

As the two of them left, those queued up behind them actually showed a schadenfreude expression, showing no sympathy for the young man who had just suffered.

Now, East Sea City is an international metropolis, and this is the Consulate General of France in East Sea. They felt that the young couple’s recent behavior was truly embarrassing, showing no decorum at all.

Now, those in line behind were also rushing to apply for visas; everyone was so busy.

Ye Qiu stood there, expression unchanged.

Wenting Zhou looked at Ye Qiu curiously, but she didn’t say anything.

When it was their turn, one of the consular staff first asked in French, then in Chinese.

To work in such a place, knowing Chinese was a basic requirement, since they needed to serve the people of Huaxia.

However, what the consular staff hadn’t expected was that Wenting Zhou’s French was very good. Furthermore, when Wenting Zhou presented her graduation certificate from the University of Marseille, the staff became even more welcoming as she had previously studied in Marseille and earned her bachelor’s highest degree.

When Wenting Zhou explained that she was going to France to treat an earl this time, the staff were somewhat incredulous.

However, Wenting Zhou could completely apply for a tourist visa, which allowed for one to two months of visa time.

After Wenting Zhou had submitted her and Ye Qiu’s visa documents, passports, and those photocopies,

the staff asked some further questions about the two, confirming they had no criminal activities, and then directly let Wenting Zhou sign and fingerprint.

Then, they called Ye Qiu up, and it was the same process.

Compared to the cumbersome documentation processes back home, it was much easier here. If it weren’t for the crowd requiring queuing, they might have gotten their visas even earlier.

Now, both of them had received their visas, and they could fly to France this afternoon.

As Ye Qiu and Wenting Zhou came out, they saw that the young couple were still sitting there, particularly the young man who still looked to be in great pain.

Ye Qiu, however, didn’t look back a second time, and left the place with Wenting Zhou, then took the elevator down.

Upon reaching the underground parking lot, they got in the car, drove out of the underground parking, and headed upwards to the surface.

It was now lunchtime, yet Wenting Zhou still wanted to return to Jinling City to eat.

On the way there and back, through the car window, they could see towering buildings, skyscrapers, winding overpasses, and bustling traffic, all of which showcased the prosperity and opulence of East Sea.

However, this trip was purely for visa purposes, not for amusement. Ye Qiu planned to visit East Sea again later.
