Chapter 660: Chapter 0661: Birthmark
After lunch, they went up to the president’s office on the upper floor.
In the afternoon, Ye Qiu was to help Xingyue Group recruit a few more designers as well as members of the modeling team.
Xingyue Group, being a large company, offered good salaries and benefits. Yesterday, the HR department posted advertisements on relevant recruitment websites, and by afternoon, candidates were arriving on time for interviews.
At two-thirty in the afternoon, the HR department notified them that about forty or fifty female models had come for interviews and were now in the original model training venue.
When Ye Qiu and Secretary Liu went down, they entered the training venue and already saw a group of colorfully dressed young women there.
Originally, the two model squads had thirty to forty people, but after Ye Qiu dismissed them, only Amy remained.
Amy, wearing the dress Ye Qiu had designed for her, was being surrounded by the new female models who had come for interviews.
When the models saw Ye Qiu and Secretary Liu coming, they didn’t know the identities of the two, but when Ye Qiu sat down, he noticed the busty beauty had come over as well.
"Dr. Ye, this is Miss Xiao, the HR Director."
"Director Xiao, this is Mr. Ye."
Secretary Liu introduced Ye Qiu and Xiao Mei respectively.
Ye Qiu and Xiao Mei had met twice in the elevator and once again at lunch in the cafeteria that morning; Xiao Mei had heard of Ye Qiu as well.
However, she wasn’t very clear about Ye Qiu’s role in Xingyue Group, or the relationship between Ye Qiu and the Shen sisters. But hearing that Ye Qiu had come over and directly designed summer lingerie, as well as dismissed most of the designers and models, it was clear that Ye Qiu held a very important status.
"Hello, my name is Xiao Mei."
Xiao Mei extended her hand and said.
"My name is Ye Qiu."
The two merely shook hands and then sat down in their seats.
Now it was time to officially interview these female models. Ye Qiu could tell at a glance whether they were suitable or not.
When Amy saw Ye Qiu, she hurried over to pour water for him and then stood by and watched.
The first female model came up, introducing her name, age, educational background, measurements, bust size, and past experiences, among other things.
Ye Qiu said nothing.
Xiao Mei also said nothing.
After all the models had showcased their strengths, in the end, Ye Qiu picked only five models. These models were not very beautiful, but they had an aura about them that, in his view, made them suitable for advertising Xingyue Group’s lingerie.
Each time Xingyue Group’s lingerie advertisements were released, these models might be required for exhibition performances, and if possible, they might even have the opportunity to perform on stages in Europe and America, showcasing Xingyue Group’s lingerie to the public.
"Mr. Ye, just these five?"
Xiao Mei was surprised.
Out of the forty or fifty female models who applied, only these five were chosen in the end.
"Choosing five is already quite good."
Ye Qiu had selected based on his criteria.
Of course, now hiring ten to fifteen models was enough, not like before. So, with Amy, there were only six in total now.
"We need to recruit another batch for interviews tomorrow."
Ye Qiu said.
Xiao Mei’s task now was only to assist Ye Qiu with this task. Obviously, they would need to recruit another batch of female models for interviews tomorrow.
When Ye Qiu was ready to head upstairs with Secretary Liu, they still had to interview the designers and hire a few new ones.
Going upstairs, Xiao Mei followed too.
Upon arriving at the conference room, Ye Qiu said to Liu Xiaoli, "Secretary Liu, I need to trouble you again."
Secretary Liu knew what Ye Qiu wanted her to do and sat down right there.
"Hello, I am Xiao Mei, HR Director at Xingyue Group. Now Mr. Ye will pose a challenge for you: you are to create the most suitable lingerie design by observing Secretary Liu, to be completed within one hour."
Xiao Mei addressed the several dozen designers below.
The designers instantly understood what was expected of them.
After Xiao Mei finished speaking, she sat down next to Ye Qiu.
This was the same as before, but now Ye Qiu was absolutely silent, merely sitting quietly. However, Xiao Mei felt Ye Qiu occasionally glanced at her.
"Mr. Ye, is there something I can help you with?"
Xiao Mei asked curiously.
Given Xiao Mei’s age, she must have been around twenty-seven or twenty-eight, likely old enough to be a mother. However, unlike in rural areas where men and women marry early, in big cities, it’s common for many men and women to remain unmarried even past thirty.
Ye Qiu observed Xiao Mei and noted she didn’t appear to have a boyfriend.
"This here?"
In the past two encounters, Ye Qiu had noticed a large birthmark below Xiao Mei’s neck, which could be mistaken for a tattoo if not observed closely.
In fact, it was not a tattoo. Ye Qiu noticed it was a birthmark.
With the way Xiao Mei dressed, dark clothes made it difficult for outsiders to notice. However, with lighter clothes, it was different and easily noticeable.
So, hearing Ye Qiu’s comments, Xiao Mei knew that Ye Qiu must have seen her birthmark.
"It’s nothing."
Xiao Mei said.
She didn’t want to tell others or let them know about it.
"Then never mind."
Ye Qiu didn’t say anything further.
An hour later, all the designer candidates had submitted their lingerie designs, which were, of course, created based on Secretary Liu’s specifications.
"You will be notified tomorrow whether you are hired or not; the company will call you."
Xiao Mei said.
After the candidates left, Ye Qiu took the large stack of design sketches back to Shen Yueru’s presidential office. When he got back to the presidential office, Shen Yueru was working there.
"Has the recruitment concluded?"
"Not yet, we only found five suitable models. We still need to search tomorrow. For the designers we recruited today, I’m not sure if any are qualified."
Ye Qiu sat down and went through the lingerie design sketches, finding that most were mediocre or severely lacking in quality. These individuals were clearly not cut out to be qualified designers.
Out of the forty or fifty candidates, only four were deemed qualified, making for a very high elimination rate. Naturally, if it were not for Ye Qiu, using the original recruitment approach, perhaps two-thirds would have been retained.
Having identified these four qualified individuals, Ye Qiu felt it was already a good outcome. If sent abroad to the four fashion capitals for some time to learn, they would definitely be different upon returning.
