Chapter 481: Chapter 482: Offering Myself in Marriage

```
Wen Xin closed her eyes and clasped her hands together, looking very devout. She hoped that this time, Ye Qiu could truly cure her halitosis completely.
This bad breath, like body odor, was a grievous affliction that affected relationships. Previously, Wen Xin had been plagued by bad breath issues since high school, causing her to have no friends. Even her closest family members kept their distance when speaking to her.
Unexpectedly, she had now encountered Ye Qiu, a very skilled doctor.
Upon hearing Ye Qiu’s words, Wen Xin opened her eyes, appearing somewhat incredulous.
"Really, really cured?"
Wen Xin opened her eyes and asked.
"You can smell for yourself,"
Ye Qiu replied.
Wen Xin used her fair hand to cover her mouth and blew. Normally, the smell was so nauseating that even she couldn’t stand it, like the stench of ten times rotten tofu and ten times rotten eggs combined.
Usually, you could smell rotten tofu from several meters away on the street, and Wen Xin was the same.
Now she found that when she smelled, she no longer noticed that odor!
Not at all!
Wen Xin realized it had been a long time since she last caught a whiff of her own fresh breath. Even if she brushed her teeth ten times a day and chewed two pieces of gum at once, she couldn’t smell it.
She never thought that now, this awful odor was really completely gone!
"Dr. Ye, how did you cure it?"
Wen Xin asked.
"It was just a minor issue,"
Ye Qiu replied.
For other doctors, this would be considered a difficult case, hard to treat. But for Ye Qiu, it was merely a minor illness.
The only really tough case he had encountered recently was with the group affected by Aconite Gu poison; otherwise, there hadn’t been much to challenge him.
"So, how much are you planning to charge for the treatment?"
Wen Xin had heard that when Ye Qiu treated wealthy individuals, he charged at least hundreds of thousands, sometimes even millions. But she only made four or five thousand a month and had very little money.
"You can’t afford it,"
Ye Qiu said.
"Then what should I do?"
Wen Xin opened her eyes wide, tears welling up as she looked at Ye Qiu.
"Offer yourself in marriage,"
Ye Qiu joked.
"Dr. Ye, I..."
Hearing Ye Qiu say she should marry him as payment, Wen Xin thought he was serious. She became anxious and almost started crying.
"Just kidding. I either charge a few million or nothing at all. Since I volunteered to treat you, there’s no fee,"
Ye Qiu laughed, finding Wen Xin, this adorable girl from Jiangnan, quite charming.
"Why?"
"Because you’re a pretty lady,"
Ye Qiu replied.
Wen Xin immediately felt joyous again.
After finishing their drinks at the café, it was time for dinner. Though there were still some snacks left, they needed a proper meal since it was evening.
"Dr. Ye, while I can’t afford a medical fee, I can at least buy you dinner,"
Wen Xin offered.
"Alright, once we finish this meal, we’ll be square,"
Ye Qiu agreed.
Ye Qiu summoned the waitress to settle the bill. The total, including snacks, came to around fifty yuan. Wen Xin asked the waitress to pack the uneaten snacks for her to take back to her dorm.
They left the tea shop and headed to the Qinhuai River. Once in the car, Ye Qiu asked, "Where should we eat?"
"I don’t know. I usually eat in Jinling Hospital’s cafeteria and haven’t dined out,"
Wen Xin replied.
Since she had few friends and was embarrassed by her halitosis, Wen Xin rarely dined out, even though she had lived in Jinling Jiangnan for many years.
"How about Western food?"
"Sounds good!"
Ye Qiu drove to the entrance of a mid-to-high-end Western restaurant. He parked the car, and he and Wen Xin got out.
Ye Qiu’s attire was still the same plain clothes, faded from washing. To others, he did not seem to match the Mercedes AMG he drove. Wen Xin usually wore her nurse’s uniform at the hospital and changed into inexpensive market clothes after work.
Due to her previous condition, she didn’t enjoy dressing up.
As they approached the restaurant, the security guard looked puzzled.
Seeing Ye Qiu’s shabby appearance, the guard thought disdainfully, "Pretending to be rich."
He assumed Ye Qiu was a wealthy second-generation trying to act poor.
Entering the restaurant, two cheongsam-clad waitresses led Ye Qiu and Wen Xin inside. This was Ye Qiu’s first time at this specific restaurant, though he had been to other Western restaurants with Zhao Ruxue, Zhao Rubing, Liu Lingxiu, Li Qianqian, and Ye Xue.
After being seated in the couple’s section, a waitress handed them menus.
Ye Qiu handed the menu to Wen Xin, who saw that the prices weren’t too bad, probably totaling a few hundred yuan.
"Sir, would you like some wine?"
The waitress asked.
Since Ye Qiu arrived in a luxury car and appeared to be a wealthy young man pretending to be poor, she eagerly recommended their wine.
"What’s the most expensive?"
"Our most expensive Lafite is 28,000 yuan per bottle,"
"Let’s get a bottle,"
The waitress was delighted and quickly jotted down the order. Wen Xin, holding the menu, was stunned. She had thought the Western food was cheap, not expecting the wine to be the priciest item.
With her monthly salary of four to five thousand yuan, nearly three thousand yuan for a bottle of wine meant half a year’s wages. But, since Ye Qiu had cured her, what was this money compared to that?
"Is such expensive wine worth it?"
Ye Qiu asked.
"I’ve never had it before; I’d like to try it,"
Wen Xin said.
Seeing Wen Xin’s clear eyes, Ye Qiu felt she was telling the truth.
Wen Xin ordered two medium-well steaks and some side dishes. The waitress soon returned with the most expensive Lafite.
After confirming Ye Qiu really wanted it, she opened the bottle. As she poured half a glass for each of them, the rich aroma of the wine wafted through the air, attracting the attention of other customers.
Ye Qiu knew the wine was genuine, but if bought overseas, it would only cost around ten thousand yuan max. Import duties and restaurant markups made it more expensive here.
It seemed his villa’s wine cellar really needed those wines, but purchasing them abroad was the way to go.
"Sir, Miss, please enjoy,"
The waitress said, pouring half a glass into each wine glass. Ye Qiu swirled his glass, took a sip, and felt it was good, but far inferior to Jadescent Nectar from Heaven.
