Chapter 921: Chapter 0921: Being Followed

The eight people—originally, Ye Qiu intended to let them take the high-speed train. However, judging from their condition, it seemed they couldn’t manage that, so he could only find a van to bring them over.

Ye Qiu had to look for a driver in Chinatown who operated a van to transport them. He asked an employee at a recruitment agency, essentially a staffing intermediary, to call up a van driver for him.

Soon enough, a middle-aged Chinese man arrived. He was indeed a van driver working in Paris Chinatown.

"Boss, you want me to bring those workers to your place? I can do that, but the fare’s going to be a bit higher."

After all, driving there might mean returning with an empty vehicle.

"Two hundred euros per person."

A round trip of five to six hundred kilometers, roughly a thousand euros total, was already quite a sum.

But the man still seemed to think it wasn’t enough.

"Two hundred and fifty euros per person."

"Fine. Pay half upfront, and the rest when they arrive."

Ye Qiu instructed Zhou Wenting to pay the man half of the fare first.

With that settled, Ye Qiu didn’t plan to stick around any longer.

Of course, he had already given them the location. Once they reached the nearby town, the housekeeper Eugene would come to pick them up.

After Ye Qiu, Louise, Zhou Wenting, Helena, and Enzo’s two bodyguards left, they headed to the parking lot outside Chinatown. Ye Qiu, along with Louise and the other two women, got into the car.

Naturally, both Louise and Zhou Wenting were astonished. Ye Qiu hadn’t been in Paris for long, yet he had already earned tens of millions of euros.

The money seemed shockingly easy for Ye Qiu to make!

Even their families, despite amassing riches daily, probably couldn’t match Ye Qiu’s speed in generating wealth.

After getting in the car, Ye Qiu started up his Bentley Bentayga and drove towards the Eastern Castle. Shortly after they left the Paris city limits, Ye Qiu noticed they were being followed.

However, Ye Qiu didn’t react.

These people were most likely tailing Helena.

After driving for nearly three hours, Ye Qiu spotted the Eastern Castle. By now, it was already past five in the afternoon.

Upon arriving back at the Eastern Castle, Ye Qiu parked the car. When housekeeper Eugene came out, Ye Qiu said, "Housekeeper, I just hired eight people in Chinatown. They should arrive at the small town’s train station. Go pick them up when they get there."

"Understood, Mr. Ye."

After Ye Qiu entered the castle, housekeeper Eugene started up the Bentley Mulsanne to head to the train station.

The car Ye Qiu had bought for him was undoubtedly far easier to drive than the Citroën.

Once he got there, he waited around half an hour before finally seeing a van. Eugene spoke with the van driver and confirmed that these were indeed the eight individuals hired by Ye Qiu.

"Drive your vehicle and follow me."

The van driver continued driving towards the Eastern Castle.

When they arrived, it was already past six in the evening.

However, the driver was surprised to find that the young boss was so wealthy—he had an actual castle in France!

This was beyond imagination!

"Here’s the remainder of your fare."

Zhou Wenting paid the driver the remaining fare. The driver didn’t intend to linger; he took the money and drove back towards Paris Chinatown.

After the van driver left, the eight people who had come in the vehicle still hadn’t fully recovered. Some were even carsick.

Of course, they didn’t expect that, besides hiring them, the young boss already had quite a few people working here—including a French housekeeper.

"Housekeeper, they don’t speak French. Whatever tasks you assign them, keep instructions simple."

Housekeeper Eugene didn’t speak much Mandarin either, but he could manage basic tasks like sweeping the floor and cooking.

With eight more people now, his workload at the castle would become much lighter. At least he wouldn’t need to handle kitchen duties anymore, allowing him to focus on other jobs.

"Looks like I’ll need to study Mandarin more seriously."

Eugene commented.

It was now dinner time. Eugene directed the newcomers to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Depending on how tasty their dishes turned out, those with culinary talent would remain in the kitchen. Those who weren’t skilled would be assigned other chores, like cleaning the castle.

Ye Qiu, along with Louise and the other two women, returned to their rooms. Once back in his own room, Ye Qiu sat down to rest for a while. Without internet or a computer, certain things felt inconvenient.

Eventually, it seemed he would need to buy a computer. If wired internet couldn’t be installed, he’d rely on wireless connectivity.

In his upstairs room, Ye Qiu spent an hour reading before a French aunt knocked on his door, asking him to go downstairs for dinner.

For some reason, now that Ye Qiu had brought in eight Huaxia workers, the French staff were beginning to worry—afraid he might replace them eventually.

This sense of unease made the woman slightly more nervous in her duties.

When Ye Qiu went downstairs, Louise and the other two women joined as well. The eight newcomers were in the kitchen, each cooking up their specialties. There was a variety of dishes, showcasing their best culinary efforts.

The fare was clearly different from the French bread they’d been eating before.

The newcomers wouldn’t sit at the same table to eat with Ye Qiu—even Eugene the housekeeper wouldn’t normally do so. For now, it was just Ye Qiu and Louise’s group dining together. Once they finished, the newcomers would eat.

Ye Qiu sampled the dishes casually, finding them quite satisfactory. They weren’t as refined as meals made by professional chefs, but they were suited to his tastes.

"Who made these dishes?"

Ye Qiu asked.

"Boss, we’re the ones—my wife and I."

One middle-aged couple responded quickly.

"Alright, from now on, you two will cook in the kitchen for me. As for the others, follow the housekeeper’s instructions."

The couple breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Ye Qiu’s decision. At least they felt confident that he intended to keep them employed here.

When Ye Qiu finished eating, it was already past nine in the evening. After Louise and the other two women had their fill, the newcomers stayed in the dining area, either eating dinner or doing other chores.

Ye Qiu then headed upstairs.

Once upstairs, he grabbed his shorts and pajamas and entered the bathroom to take a shower. After finishing his bath, he returned to his room, prepared to read for a while, and then resumed cultivating the Primordial Five Emperors Technique.

Given his current progress, it wouldn’t be long before he broke through to the next stage.

...

"Boss, Helena isn’t dead. She and those two bodyguards moved into a castle."

"Listen carefully. No matter the cost, I want her to stay in France forever, understood?"

"Yes, boss, we understand."

The group quietly tailed Helena’s party to the Eastern Castle. Once they saw Helena and her bodyguards staying there, they realized she hadn’t died that night.
