Chapter 915: Chapter 915: Henry’s Retribution Has Arrived

Artu came to apologize to Ye Qiu with sincerity, even hoping to use Ye Qiu’s reputation to showcase his works at the Paris Fashion Show.

However, Ye Qiu wasn’t very interested in those things.

Moreover, he knew that such matters really couldn’t be entirely avoided at times, so he didn’t want to pursue it any further.

"President Artu, as long as Louise doesn’t hold you accountable, it’s fine. Those fashion design sketches were originally meant as a gift to Louise personally."

Artu didn’t expect this young man to be so generous—those fashion design sketches were actually meant solely for Louise.

Now Ye Qiu didn’t discuss those matters further with Artu, but Artu had already acknowledged this young man’s status in fashion design, which meant Ye Qiu had gained some recognition in the French fashion industry.

As for Amanda, Viscount Christian, and the others, they all hoped Ye Qiu would join their company and become one of their fashion designers.

Ye Qiu had no intention of doing that.

Now Housekeeper Eugene went over to prepare a simple dinner, and when Ye Qiu invited these guests to sit down for the meal, it counted as hosting them.

At around nine in the evening, after Artu and Louise finalized their discussion, Artu returned to Paris. Amanda and the others had matters to attend to and left as well.

Watching these people leave, Louise said, "I just asked Artu to apologize to you in the newspapers, nothing more."

Louise understood that if such a thing were done, it would surely lead the entire world to acknowledge Ye Qiu’s status in the fashion industry.

"I still want to keep a low profile, but it seems like that’s impossible!"

...

At ten in the evening, Ye Qiu went back upstairs in the château, took a shower, and then returned to his room, ready to continue cultivating the Primordial Five Emperors Technique.

Unexpectedly, just as he was preparing to cultivate, Helena, dressed in a nightgown, suddenly walked over.

"Miss Helena, is there something you need?"

"I’m scared to sleep alone at night!"

Scared?

This made Ye Qiu truly skeptical; Helena didn’t look like someone who would be scared!

"Then you’ll have to go find Zhou Wenting to keep you company."

When Zhou Wenting stayed in the château and had her own room, she was also afraid. In contrast, Louise never showed the slightest fear.

Ye Qiu took out his phone and called Zhou Wenting.

"Ye Qiu, what’s up?"

"Helena says she’s scared to sleep alone in a room. Go keep her company!"

"But I’m not very familiar with Helena, and I don’t understand much Italian."

"You’ll get familiar over time."

After asking Helena to find Zhou Wenting, Ye Qiu closed the door and opened the window. A faintly reddish moonlight filtered into the room. Ye Qiu sat cross-legged by the window and began cultivating the Primordial Five Emperors Technique.

Last night, Henry noticed that right after Ye Qiu and Louise left, he started feeling somewhat unwell.

It was just a slight discomfort, nothing more. He didn’t feel compelled to pay it much attention and returned to the lab to continue his research.

Late at night, when Henry left the lab and went back to his high-end apartment in Paris to rest, he didn’t expect to be awoken by sudden pain in the middle of the night.

As a medical doctor, he had always been very mindful of his health. Henry underwent two full-body physical examinations every year, and his health had always been excellent, with no issues ever detected.

Could it be something wrong with the food he ate?

Henry found that hard to believe, but he felt a swelling sensation in his abdomen, a sense of heaviness, along with nausea and a strong urge to vomit.

With no other options, Henry had to get up.

At that hour, hospital doctors were off duty, so he could only wait until the next day to get checked.

The next day, Henry, exhausted from a sleepless night, had no energy and looked haggard as he drove himself to the Affiliated Hospital of the Paris Medical Academy for a checkup.

After undergoing a full-body examination, a physician found Henry’s condition to be highly unusual, not merely a minor illness.

"Doctor Henry, when did you first start feeling unwell?"

"Last night."

"This might not be just a minor illness. However, we need to wait for the lab results and test reports to confirm."

Henry was increasingly feeling unwell and was admitted to the hospital for treatment and to await the test results.

By the afternoon, while Henry was receiving an IV drip, he suddenly saw the attending physician walk in with a serious expression and say, "Doctor Henry, we now have the lab and examination reports. I have two pieces of news for you—one good and one bad. Which would you like to hear first?"

"What good news? What bad news?"

Most French people are fond of humor, but Henry had no patience for it at the moment. He demanded the physician show him the test and lab reports.

After all, as a medical doctor specializing in internal medicine, Henry would naturally understand the reports at a glance.

"The good news is that the examination results show you’ve been diagnosed with stomach cancer, and it’s at the middle stage. It’s fortunate we identified this in time, allowing for prompt treatment. The bad news is, unfortunately, that you’ve been diagnosed with stomach cancer and need to begin treatment immediately."

What kind of nonsense is this?

Henry couldn’t believe it—he, of all people, had stomach cancer, and it was already at the middle stage.

How was that possible?

He had always been perfectly healthy. But as he scanned the lab and test results, he saw the data clearly confirmed it. The imaging results revealed shadows in the stomach area, indicating cancer-cell spread in the stomach.

But why had he felt nothing beforehand? His appetite had been excellent, with no signs suggesting cancer. It was only last night that the discomfort began.

Given the circumstances, Henry knew his options were limited: undergo surgery to remove part of the stomach to prevent further spread of cancer cells or proceed with chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

The latter options, however, were merely ways to prolong suffering without yielding the ideal treatment outcomes, often designed as money-making schemes.

As an expert in the field, Henry understood this well.

But now, it seemed that choosing treatment would be painful, while not treating would mean an even faster demise. He was still not even thirty years old, came from a wealthy family, had prominence and prestige—he didn’t want to go meet God so soon.

"Doctor Henry, take your time to decide on your treatment plan and let me know."

The attending physician didn’t say much more and left the private hospital room with a nurse.

Once they had left, Henry held his head in his hands and began sobbing uncontrollably.

It wasn’t clear how long he cried, but eventually, Henry realized he needed to notify his family to come.
