Chapter 898: Chapter 0898: Elysée High-End Club
Louise had already guessed it might be the case, but she didn’t expect everything to happen so quickly.
"Dr. Fran, let me talk to Mr. Ye first. Whether he agrees to meet you is up to him—I can’t decide that."
"Alright, Miss Louise."
Just yesterday, Dr. Fran couldn’t care less about Louise’s friends. Yet now, not even a full day later, he was begging for a meeting with Ye Qiu.
The shift in attitude was truly stark.
After hanging up, Louise turned to Ye Qiu beside her and asked, "Qiu, Dr. Fran just asked me if he could meet you. What do you think?"
"No."
Ye Qiu responded.
He couldn’t be bothered meeting such people. If it weren’t for Louise wanting to attend the exchange event, he wouldn’t even consider accompanying her.
"Guess it’s settled then. Let’s just ignore them."
When the waiter delivered the dishes Ye Qiu had ordered, he and the two women started their dinner.
They didn’t finish until after nine o’clock in the evening, having eaten their fill.
Earlier, Louise and Zhou Wenting each had a glass of white wine, and both were feeling a bit tipsy.
After Ye Qiu called over the waiter to settle the bill, he and the two women left the restaurant, took a stroll around Chinatown, and then got into Louise’s BMW.
"Louise, are we staying at the Louvre Grand Hotel?"
"Yes!"
Louise replied.
Ye Qiu drove straight toward the hotel.
Upon arriving at the hotel’s underground parking lot, they headed to the ground-floor lobby together.
The receptionist, a tall, young French woman, hadn’t expected Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting—whom she had seen just days before—to now be accompanied by Miss Louise.
"Two rooms will be enough," Ye Qiu said.
After registering their information at the front desk, two additional female staff members escorted Ye Qiu, Zhou Wenting, and Louise to their upstairs deluxe suites.
Ye Qiu opened the door to one suite and stepped inside, while Zhou Wenting and Louise entered another.
Once in his room, Ye Qiu took a shower and came out feeling refreshed. He sat on a rattan chair on the balcony, gazing at the Parisian nightscape.
Ye Qiu called Housekeeper Eugene and said, "Eugene, I won’t be coming back tonight."
He then inquired about the current state of grape harvesting as well as the conditions of the workers at Count Charley’s winery. Eugene confirmed everything had been arranged properly.
After concluding the phone call, Ye Qiu dried his hair on the balcony, then returned to the living room. He turned on the TV, finding channels mainly from Europe, with France being the predominant focus. Watching for a while but losing interest, he turned it off.
Back in his room, he pulled back the curtains and let the moonlight flow in through the windows before starting his cultivation of the "Primordial Five Emperors Technique." That morning, while treating a patient with late-stage stomach cancer, Ye Qiu had expended a significant amount of spiritual energy.
Tonight, he planned to replenish it through cultivation.
It wasn’t until the middle of the night that he suddenly heard the sound of the doorbell.
Ye Qiu found it strange. Who would be looking for him at such an hour?
Unable to ignore it, he got up to open the door, only to find Louise in a nightgown standing outside.
"Louise, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?"
Ye Qiu asked, puzzled.
He invited Louise inside, closed the door, and returned to the living room to sit down.
"I’m bored and can’t sleep, so I came to chat with you!"
Louise replied.
"What were you doing just now?"
"Resting!"
Louise sounded a bit incredulous.
Louise sat down beside Ye Qiu, and he caught the faint fragrance emanating from her. However, he remained unaffected.
He glanced at the clock; it was just past three in the morning, still plenty of time.
"Did you feel alright after drinking the white wine earlier?"
"I’m fine."
Louise appeared energetic.
By contrast, Zhou Wenting, probably due to her glass of white wine, had gone straight to bed after taking a shower in her suite.
Now, even after all this, Zhou Wenting remained sound asleep.
"Shall we go out for a stroll then?"
Ye Qiu suggested as Louise went back to change into a fresh outfit. Meanwhile, Ye Qiu changed into his regular attire.
After washing his face, he waited for Louise outside her door.
Not long after, Louise, now wearing a carefully chosen dress and freshly made up, reappeared—having taken no more than fifteen minutes.
Ye Qiu and Louise descended the hotel and returned to the underground parking lot, climbing into Louise’s red BMW.
"Where are we headed?"
"To the Elysée High-End Club; I have a membership card there."
Louise replied.
Ye Qiu, unfamiliar with the club’s location, followed Louise’s directions to get there.
After roughly forty minutes of driving, they arrived at the parking lot outside the Elysée High-End Club. Ye Qiu noticed that many luxurious vehicles were parked nearby.
BMWs and Mercedes were the more common models, while more extravagant cars—Lamborghinis, Rolls-Royces, Ferraris, Bugatti Veyrons—dominated the lot.
Still, Ye Qiu and Louise simply glanced over before proceeding toward the club entrance.
Unexpectedly, Louise hugged Ye Qiu’s arm as they crossed the entryway, unfazed by the curious gazes of the two security guards stationed at the door.
After Louise’s membership card was verified, she led Ye Qiu inside, where he noticed similarities between this club and the upscale ones in Jinling, although some differences were apparent.
In Huaxia, such venues were almost exclusively frequented by the wealthy descendants of local officials or business elites.
Here, however, the crowd was predominantly made up of young white men and women, with some black attendees, suggesting they might belong to France’s higher social echelons.
"What would you like to drink?"
Louise asked.
"I’d like to try the most expensive wine they offer."
Louise, dressed impeccably and presenting herself elegantly, instantly drew the attention of the club’s young men upon entry.
However, those men were surprised—perhaps even envious—to see Louise clutching the arm of a plainly dressed young man who didn’t seem very fashionable, looking more like an exchange student from Huaxia.
"Alright."
Louise replied.
The two chose a quiet table to sit at, undisturbed by anyone else for the time being.
Soon, a young maid in a servant uniform approached their table and asked, "Miss Louise, what will you and your companion be drinking?"
"Bring us a bottle of your most expensive red wine!"
After the maid left, she soon returned with the requested bottle, along with another maid who brought two wine glasses and a corkscrew to the table.
As the bottle of wine was opened, Ye Qiu could immediately catch the aromatic fragrance wafting from the red wine.
