Hayao’s heart raced, the stopwatch’s dark pulse throbbing against his chest, its chain necklace digging into his skin as he chose to claim his prize. The opulent lounge, with its mahogany walls and soft jazz, felt like a gilded trap, but the artifact’s seductive influence drowned out any hesitation. “I would like to see the foreigner,” he said, his voice low and firm, eyes locked on Taro Yoko’s predatory grin.

Taro’s eyes glinted with approval, his fat but impeccably groomed frame shifting in his armchair. “A fine choice, Miyazaki-kun,” he purred, his gold cufflinks catching the chandelier’s glow. He clicked his fingers, the sound sharp in the smoky air, and a tall black man in a crisp suit appeared, his expression unreadable, his presence commanding. “Take him to the new blonde’s cell,” Taro ordered, leaning back with a satisfied smirk. “Enjoy your prize, my boy.”

The man in the suit gestured for Hayao to follow, leading him through the lounge’s decadent haze, past clusters of suited men indulging in the club’s offerings.
